She flung an elegant western saddle on the spunky young horse, her stable hand flinging another over the back of the calm and mildly excited eldest of the stables. Tightening girths and inserting bits and tightening straps, they were preparing for their morning ride. The one they took every day, to keep in shape and in good health for their owners.
Both of them, all saddled up in their mightly glory. The young Thoroughbred stallion, Brego, dressed in green and the serene Appaloosa, Brighton, in her purple garb. Gwen, the co-owner of them both, was mounted on Brego, keeping him well under control for him being such a young little boy, only 14. The eldest of all her horses, Brighton, was on a leadline behind her, following behind casually.
They headed through the wide pathways of the stable, calm and smiling. She gave a nod to her stable hands as she passed them and continued out to the front of the barn, heading towards the front yard. It was relatively early in the morning and she was getting ready for her morning trail ride. Brego was beginning to be a little squirrelly with excitement, but Brighton just waited patiently for her rider.
When Gwen arrived at the front of the house, she got as close to the porch as she could and called out with a little grin on her face, happy and ready for the new day. "So. Who's going riding with me on this fine morning? Better get going though! You all know Brighton prefers the dewed pathways!" She let out a small chuckle as Brighton threw her head, as if to agree with Gwen.
