Rays of light burst threw the clouds of the night, bringing with them an array of colors. Rowen awed at the sky for a moment, and than looked back to the beach. He was supposed to take a picture of water for art class, and had decided that the beach at sunrise would be best. He walked along the shore for sometime, searching for a perfect place to take his shot.

It was not until Rowen tripped over a rock that he decided to stop. Mostly because his toe hurt like hell, but also because it seemed like a place as good as any to take a picture. Taking off his socks and shoes, Rowen let the water flow over his stubbed toe as he took out his camera. "I'm probably going to drop it in the water," he thought to himself. Snap.

Flicking a switch on his camera, the picture he had just took shone back at him. It was quite a good picture - the waves were just coming in. Rowen took a few more for his blog, turned off his camera, and sat down a few feet away from the water.

"Hahahaha! This is so much-- OUCH!"
It went from hysterical laughter to an outcry of slight pain. Little Neffie had been cartwheeling across the beach because it was way to early in the morning for any of her friends to be up. And she couldn't think of anything else in the spur of the moment, so she just came out here to have some fun.

But, her fun stopped momentarily because she'd fallen. While she'd been on her hands, one of them had slipped on the soft sand and she went falling to the ground, flat on her back. It hadn't hurt much at all, but it was just force of habit to state she'd caused 'pain' in some way. But, seconds later, she was laughing again. Her spirits wouldn't fault because she'd fallen once. No point to let them.

Laying there, she looked up at the sky and watched the puffy little clouds go by. They were all different shades of reds and orange and yellows, and they all blended so much more intriguing than any painting. Sitting up, sand in her hair, she gave a quick shake of her head and stared at the sunrise. "It's... amazing. And to think it does this everyday. As if it were nothing..."

Rowen state of amazement was interrupted by a large crashing sound. He turned slowly, as though still belonging to the ocean, and picked out the figure of a girl. She looked to be about ten or eleven meters off, and was laughing hysterically. Rowen kept his place for a moment, than crawled towards the girl. He said nothing at first, than muttered sarcastically, "I think you could win a gold medal for cart-wheeling."

His eyes glanced from the girl, back to the ocean. "I'm Rowen," he stated, looking at the girl as though to ask 'and who are you?'. He had seen the girl several times, but only knew her by site, and had never seen her without friends.

"I know, right?" She was still laughing, even though it probably wasn't even funny anymore. "Thanks!" Nef decided to take it as a compliment as she hoisted herself to her feet, far from gracefully. Stumbling a bit when she was fully upright, she balanced herself and then smiled happily at the kid she'd seen, but never heard.

"Name's Neferet. But you can call me Neffie." It was weird, she'd never really ever heard him. Of course, it wasn't in her nature to go around obnoxiously listening to people, but she didn't think it was right that a person could be so quiet and calm. How can they even deal going through such a fun life so silently? If you were gonna leave footsteps, make them huge and bold.

"So," She paused for a moment, thinking of what she could say next, "what brings you here to this fine sunset on this snazz-tastic beach?" Neffie was shifting her weight from foot to foot, unable to really hold still and stand in one place. It was like someone was trying to tie her down and she couldn't stand there and let that happen, now, could she?

Rowen laughed, too. His hair was flying in the breeze, and he used his hands to try to hold it down. "What brings me to the beach is to take pictures," he held up his camera, than placed it back in his bag. He studied the girl for a moment, wondering why he hadn't met her before.

Shifting his gaze, Rowen realized that the sun was nearly in full position now. It must be eight now, or at least around there. He was scared for a moment, and than realized it was Saturday.

"I can do cartwheels, too," he laugh-bragged, performing a perfect cart wheel, only to fall after landing. "That counted," he smiled, sticking his thumb up.

Neffie was standing against the wind, so her hair was blowing behind her. She was laughing and clapping, totally humored beyond natural. She could've sworn she would've befriended this guy before, and couldn't think of why she hadn't. It was wierd, not knowing a person very well but getting along so easily.

"That was brilliant! Oh, watch this!" She proceeded to cartwheel into a backbend, and made it almost completely. On her hands, kicking her feet over her head to complete her backbend, a sandcrab scurried over her hand and sent her into a giggling fit, a small shock going through her hand. And she collapsed into a completely hysterical giggling fit of a curled up little ball in the sand. Life was good.

"Okay. That was a total fail. Evil little sand crabs." She picked up the little sand crab as she flew up into the sitting position. She placed in the palm of her right hand and stared at the helpless little creature, curled up protectively in it's shell. "Nature can be so innocent and so cruel, all in the same movement." Her palm was poised inches from her face. She'd stopped laughing and was staring at it, oddly serious.
