When we moved into a new house a couple of months ago, the extra nice guy from Direct TV helped set up our DVD burner w/ our DVR. But something's not working right on it. Right now, the power has to be *on* the burner at all times to watch TV. But if I want to burn DVD something that I had recorded on the DVR, the picture will record, but no sound. Somehow the sound is not connected through the DVD burner. And why the heck does the burner have to be on all the time? We didn't have it set up that way in NY. And I can't remember how we had everything all plugged in. We've got a speaker system to add to the mix as well that is not at the moment plugged in right.
Anyone on here well-versed in in this stuff? I like to think of myself as well-educated and pretty technically-abled, but this for whatever reason just seems so counter-intuitive to me.
And no, my VCR is not flashing 12:00!
I desperately want to burn stuff I've got recorded on the DVR so I can use them at presentations I do. So, if anyone can offer some help, that would be great, thanks!
