This thread is for the discussion of my current webcomic, Draven: The Vampire Chronicle.
A little background info on the webcomic:
One of my biggest influences in the comic industry is James O'Barr, and you'll see why if you are familiar with his work. The story takes place in my hometown of Dixon, IL. This means that all the buildings, street corners, shops and landscapes reflect actual places in this town. The main character, Draven(one name, no first or surname), is loosely based on myself. He was once a man of his own. An atheist, he was struggling with the idea of marrying his religious fiancee. One night he gets into a car accident after hitting a man. The man, a vampire, bites our main character and bestows upon him his title, Draven.
Throughout the story he struggles to find his identity. He battles his own demons as well as the demons whom he is forced to lie with as a result of his new lifestyle. It eventually unfolds into a vengance tale. It is laced with all kinds of dark and religious undertones. I consider myself dark, yes. But I am not a religious man. It is moreso there for flavor than anything.
