Welcome one and all to the second edition of The Conner Corner. I am your host Sean Conner and I am coming to from my residence in Eau Claire, WI after a great win by my Ghostriders. I didn't get any topic requests so instead of just talking about my great first game (3 catches 92 yards and 2 TD's), I am going to talk about the kinda retirement and then the kinda unretirement of Superstar HB.
His reasons for possibly retiring bring up a great point about leagues like ours. There just doesn't seem to be enough action to wet the appetites of players these days. With the advent of miracle vitamins, performance enhancing drugs and better exercise regiments, players today are just in better shape and don't tire as easy. Baseball teams play up to 6 times in a week and basketball teams play around 3 a week whereas football only plays one game a week. You also see football players getting into trouble as they have a lot of time off in between games. In my opinion, playing more would allow players less time to goof of and more time to have fun. I don't know what the league wide opinion is about having more games, but it would be interesting to see what it is.
I also realize from a scheduling and workforce point of view that it may prove difficult to do this as officials and stat keepers would then have double the work. But one has to ask themselves, would it be impossible to do it? I say no. What is your opinion. Write to me at the Viagra In-Box at Sconner@connercorner.com. This is Sean Conner and I am getting out of the Conner Corner.
Oh and happy birthday to me!!!!!!!!!!
