Danielle was purely content to lie beside the pool on a lounge chair under the shade of an umbrella with her book and call it outside time. She turned the page of her collection of Edgar Allan Poe poetry and settled in to read "The Raven," her favorite poem by him.
She disliked the sun because she was sooo fair skinned that she burned too easily, but when she was properly coated in sunscreen and under shade, it was alright.
She had a pair of basketball shorts on over her bikini because she was self-conscious about the weight she'd kept on after Deacon. She looked fine in a bikini, but she didn't think so and therefore put on a shirt over it as well.
Danielle put her sunglasses on and sighed, turning the page.

John was thoroughly stressed and he needed to let off some steam. Between Michael's odd personality changes, to Dani constantly being on his mind - it was damn near impossible for him to relax. He hadn't slept in two days and he had barely eaten. Generally he was feeling very unwell. And lately, his heart had felt worse.
Exercise would help work out some of the tension in his bones. So the pool seemed like a good idea - especially seeming as it was a nice, hot day. He wore a simple pair of swimming shorts and that was it. His chest was bare and quite toned. He had the nice, lean type of muscles, no massive rippling biceps or anything. But he was strong - and it showed.
His skin was a natural bronze color, that he was quite proud of. And he didn't even bother putting suntan on. It took a lot to get him sunburnt. The only protection he wore was a pair of Aviators to protect his eyes from the strong rays. Glancing over at the girl lying down under the umbrella, he let his eyes wander up her legs. A crooked grin spread across his features and he lifted his glasses so he could see her better.
Then he blinked when he realised it was Dani.
Well fuck.
Clearing his throat, he nodded to the girl and rested his glasses on top of his crimson towel. He prepared to jump in when a car backfired nearby. As usual, he freaked out, just about jumping out of his skin. But this time was different. There was a sharp stabbing pain in his chest and he gasped, clutching tightly as he felt his left side began to tingle.
He couldn't breathe, and he fell to his knees as the veins in his neck nearly popped out as the pain got worse. Without warning, he blacked out and fell face first into the pool.

Ugh, John. She had this odd fondness for him, but still, he was a little annoying. He obviously checked her out and then looked surprised to see it was her once he lifted his sunglasses. She laughed softly, shaking her head.
Dani waved lightly, but paled when he clutched at his chest and fell into the pool. Diving over chairs and lounge chairs, removing her shirt as she did so, she dove into the pool and swam under John’s unconscious form. All she could think about was that he was going to die and she couldn’t allow that because she liked him and Michael needed him and damnit, he was fucking heavy. She got his head above water, ripped off her glove and laid her hand over his chest, bringing the momentarily dead man back to life. With the help of a few men, she got him onto the steady ground and put her glove back on, administering CPR.
“One, two, three, four, five…” She pumped at his chest and then pinched his nose shut, breathing into his mouth for him. She repeated this until he coughed up water. Soaked and now absolutely freezing in the breeze, she let her forehead rest on his stomach as she heaved a sigh of relief. “You had a bad accident, John, don’t try to move yet…” She looked up as someone laid a towel across her shoulders and someone else laid a rolled up towel under John’s head.
“That’s the third time I’ve seen you clutch at your chest, John, and this time you died for a second and would have stayed dead if I hadn’t somehow found momentary control over my powers…” She murmured. “What’s wrong? Do you have a heart murmur or something?” She asked softly, hoping that maybe she could help him. She definitely wouldn’t want to see that again.

He was completely out cold, and the first sensation he felt was Dani's lips on his own. How he knew it was her, he wasn't sure. But it was nice. For a moment, he merely lay there, but then he felt her hands pumping against his chest and water spluttered out of his mouth.
The pain was still there and he freaked out as memories seeped back in.
"Justin..JUSTIN?!" he called out, leaping into a sitting position as he looked around. The last thing eh remembered was a loud banging noise and water filling his nose and mouth. Justin...where was he? At the sound of Dani's voice, he looked over at him, his eyes glassy and full of pain.
"D-Dani?" he blinked, before sighing heavily and resting his head against her shoulder. He'd died for a second. She had said so herself. His body was trembling from the shock, and he shakily reached behind him to get her his towel - he could feel her shaking too.
He'd just nearly died. He wasn't about to be super defensive. Wrapping his arms tight around her, he clutched her close to his chest, waiting for his heart to go back to normal. "Th-thank you..." his voice was husky in her ear, and the way he held her was almost like he was clinging on for dear life.
For a minute or two, he just held her, trying to even out his breathing and calm down his heart. Even after a minute or two - he was still shaking.
"I-I donnow..I-I don't know what it is.." he replied, his voice still shaky.

Dani’s heart broke when he called out for his dead twin. God, the pain from that must be almost as bad as losing a child, if not worse. She had friends who told her their twin was like another half of their soul. She didn’t want to even imagine how that felt.
She tried to get him to lie down, but then suddenly his head was against her shoulder. Her towel had gotten soaked, cold and useless, and was just making her colder. He wrapped his arms around her and she was considerably warmer, but a little surprised. She returned the hug and just sat there with him, letting him calm down. “You’re welcome, John. You need to lay down, hon.” She murmured, gently trying to coax him into lying down.
Once he was lying down, she took off her glove again. “I can fix your heart, John…” She said softly. “Is it a heart murmur, a hole, what?” Dani asked softly, still shivering slightly. His towel had warmed her up, though. She dried off her hand and looked at him intently.
She wanted to fix him, to make him better if she could.

When he had just nearly died everything was in better clarity than before. Suddenly, everything was a lot more interesting than before. When Dani removed her glove, he looked at her hand and smiled, his brain still a little fuzzy from lack of oxygen for a while. So he wasn't 100% all there. That's why he was so...well...accepting of help etc. especially with Dani.
"I don't know what it is...it just...hurts. And I get really dizzy sometimes.." he then took off his glove and showed Dani the tips of his fingers, that were an odd blue color. A sign of a heart murmur."That too.." he added, but made sure to keep his hand a safe distance away from her. His powers were strong, and he didn't even nearly have a handle on them yet. He could easily hurt or kill Dani without even realising it.
The other people had drifted off, now that the danger was gone and it was just the two of them.
Grunting lightly as he felt a sharp tightness in his chest, his breathing came out in short sharp pants as the pain peaked. Gripping suddenly to the shirt Dani was wearing over the top of her bikini, around the stomach, his hand fisted into the fabric. It was clear he was in horrible pain.

Dani looked at his hand and realized it was a heart murmur. They thought Deacon might have had it and she researched it. “Ok, hon, put your glove back on.” She said, but he grabbed onto her shirt. Still pumped with adrenaline, she found it in her to control her powers and laid her bare hand on his cheek, soothing his pain so she could move about.
She gently removed his hands from her shirt and moved about to straddle his hips, able to properly have access to his chest now. But…damn, she was gonna have to take off her shirt. She took it off, revealing her black bikini top and ridiculously pale expanse of skin.
Her best friend used to tease her that she was transparent.
She leaned forward and took off her other glove, lying her hands over his heart and closing her eyes.
Dani could almost feel his tissue, his organs. She found his heart quickly, since she didn’t want to risk hurting him any more than he already was and repaired his heart, fixing the scar tissue, even, from the heart attack. When she finished, she gently retreated and sat back, looking at him in pensive silence.
Ok, so that had been more intimate than she’d intended. “Your heart is as good as new.” She murmured. “Are you in any more pain?” Dani momentarily put her gloves back on just in case. They were easily removed.
It was about then that she realized she was still straddling him. Dani quickly remedied that with a blush. “I could probably heal those scars…you know…if you want…”

Doing as he was told, he quickly shoved his glove back on. There was no need to freaking kill her just because he was in a lot of pain. Especially when she was just trying to help. And...she had pretty much just saved his life.
A breath of air escaped his lungs, a sigh of relief as the pain passed when her hand rested on his cheek. Healing abilities. You gotta love them. But all lines of thought were gone when she straddled his hips and took off her shirt.
Oh shit.
Clearing his throat, he fidgeted awkwardly.
"Uh Dani I uh..this is um..I'm uh.." his voice cracked, clearly a little uncomfortable with all of this. John wasn't a touchy feely person with girls like Dani - girls he cared about. In fact, he wanted to just run from her right now. It was hard to concentrate at all when she was like that and he didn't really know where to look.
Clenching and unclenching his fists by his side, he closed his eyes tightly as she rested her hands on his chest. He could feel it - her energy inside of him. It was the most intimate and weird feeling he had ever felt before. It was hard to describe. It was as if she had literally just shoved her hand into his chest.
Once it was done, he rested a hand over his heart. The pain was gone! Even the dull ache had disappeared completely. All thanks to her. Dani. The girl that had so easily wormed her way under his skin.
"N-No...I'm fine..I have no pain..at all." he replied, looking very surprised. But then she leapt off him and he laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck before running his fingers over his scars. They were medals. They were reminders of the shit he had gone through - a reminder that he couldn't let anyone touch his brother again.
His jaw tensed and he glared over at the water at the thought of what Michael and his other siblings had been put through. It made him literally shake with anger.
"No. No thank you. I'd rather keep them." he replied, clearing his throat and looking over at her. he just stared for a minute or two - unsure of what to say or do.

He sighed in relief and she smiled gently, happy he wasn’t in pain anymore. She ignored his fidgeting, but sighed when he began to speak. “Johnathan, be quiet, I’m not liking this any more than you are. Quicker you shut up, quicker I can focus and help you.” She didn’t want to hurt him, that much was obvious. She was a little freaked out after she healed him because, damn, it was weirdly intimate. She honestly felt like she’d slept with him when she didn’t..obviously. She nodded at his response and sighed, running a hand over her face.
“You scared the shit out of me, John.” She murmured, falling silent at the obvious pain on his face. She laid a hand over his and looked him in the eyes. “For what it’s worth, John…I’d heal emotional wounds if I could. But, I can’t, only you can. Talk about it to someone. I’m here if you need a listening ear, but just talk to someone.” She murmured. Realizing how close she was to him, how ridiculously half-naked she was around him, she sighed. “I..I have to go.” She got up and moved to collect her things.
He unnerved her.
She left, trying to collect her head. Her last husband had been just as charming, and look where that relationship got her.
What she didn’t realize was that she left her Edgar Allan Poe book behind.
