Hot, that's what it is. Even the oldest professors complain that this is the hottest summer they've experienced here at the Institution- and there's no chance that the heat's letting up soon. Get out your shorts and tee shirts and pray for some rain.

POWERS.
I know, I know. Sometimes, it's downright
impossible to think of an idea for your
character. That's why I decided to be
nice and create a list of quite a few
possible powers for your characters to
have. There is a limit to two powers per
person, unless otherwise stated. If you have
an idea for your character's power that
isn't up here, it's okay! You can still use it.


remember! as your character starts at stage one, he or she WILL NOT be able to be super-powerful! it's rare that they even know how to control it, so be reasonable.

ELEMENTALS.
POWERS HAVING TO DO WITH ANY OF THE FOUR
ELEMENTS; FIRE, AIR, EARTH, AND WATER.
    PYROKINESIS:
    The ability to create or manipulate fire with the mind.
    CRYOKINESIS:
    The ability to create or manipulate ice with the mind.
    HYDROKINESIS:
    The ability to control, generate, or absorb water.
    AEROKINESIS:
    The ability to control air. Users of this power will be able to control air currents to allow them the ability of flight.
    ELECTROKINESIS:
    The ability to control electricity.
    ATMOKINESIS:
    The ability to control the weather at your will. Users of this power can change their body temperatures to compensate for the different kinds of weather.
    MAGNETOKINESIS:
    The ability to control and manipulate metal or the earth's magnetic fields.
    UMBRAKINESIS:
    The ability to control and manipulate shadows. Users of this gift could possibly use shadows as a form of transportation, as in, moving from shadow to shadow. A trait commonly found with people who hold this gift is that they have excellent night vision.
    SOLARKINESIS:
    The ability to control light in its natural form. The light is usually from the sun, but in rare cases, maybe from the moon as well. People who have this power also have the possibility to create invisibility by bending light beams or easily blinding someone.
    CHLOROKINESIS:
    The ability to control and manipulate plants from a seedling on. They can easily bring a seed to a tree in a few minutes when the power is fully honed. Though, there is a bad side to this power as well, if the user chooses to do so, the user can kill the plants as well.
    GRAVITOKINESIS:
    Ability to manipulate or generate gravitons, or other types of gravitational interactions.
    THERMOKINESIS:
    The character possesses the ability to manipulate the heat and temperature within his/her surrounding environment. They are able to generate the heat from within themselves, manipulate the heat and temperature within the air or within or on any objects or beings around them, etc.
    TERRAKINESIS:
    The ability to control and manipulate the earth.
    PYROTECHNICS:
    The ability to create firework type blasts.
    BIOKINESIS:
    The ability to heal, or destroy the body as you wish. The gifted can also screw around with the organs in another's body.
    CHRONOKINESIS:
    Ability to affect the flow of time, slowing, accelerating or even stopping it.
MENTAL.
POWERS OF OR PERTAINING TO THE MIND.
    TELEPATHY:
    The ability to read minds, or send and receive messages with the mind.
    CLAIRVOYANCE/PRESENT COGNITION:
    The ability to see events as they unfold.
    DREAM MANIPULATION:
    Ability to communicate with people through their dreams, control peoples dreams, and visit peoples dreams.
    PSYCHOMETRY:
    The ability to see past events and emotions by touching an object.
    EMPATHY:
    The ability to sense emotions.
    EMPHATIC CONTROL:
    The ability to control the emotions of others. Does not affect free will.
    NEUROKINESIS:
    The ability to control the electrical pulses that run through the brain, allowing you to control eye blinks, movement, speech, hearing, and touch. Also though, the bad side is, they could easily choose for the person to stop breathing or have their heart stop beating, effectively killing the person.
    TELEKINESIS:
    The ability to lift objects with the mind.
    TELECYBERNETICS:
    The ability to send your mind into a network. Also the ability to control technology and manipulate it to your will. People with this power tend to be good hackers as they can easily just get into the system and bypass passwords.
    ERASURE:
    The ability to subtly alter memories or wipe them out.
    TELEKINETIC BLASTS:
    The ability to direct general 'blasts' of energy.
    TELEMPATHY:
    Like Telepathy, except you use emotions instead of words.
    ASTRAL PROJECTION:
    The ability to send yourself out of your body. This ability is controlled by the 'sleeping' body of the person.
    POSSESION:
    The ability to take control of another person’s body via astral projection or mind transfer.
    CAMOUFLAGE:
    The ability to appear as if you're part of the environment.
    DUPLICATION:
    Think of yourself as a... copy machine. The gifted can make copies of themselves with this power.
    ELASTICITY:
    The ability to have limbs that can stretch far beyond that of a normal human.
    INVISIBILITY:
    The ability to become invisible.
    ANILINGUAL:
    Ability to speak to animals.
    MORPHING:
    The ability to become an inanimate object.
    PHASE SHIFTING:
    The ability to become intangible and walk through walls, ceilings, floors... etc.
    SELF-ILLUSION:
    The ability to appear as if you're someone else. Typically falls apart under close scrutiny or under intense light or darkness.
    METAMORPH:
    The ability to shape shift into another living being.
    ANIMORPH:
    Take on animal forms. May be able to take on the abilities of the altered form
    POLYMORPH:
    Assume any form, size, mass and appearance at will.
    FIREBREATH:
    A character can project his/her fire from his/her mouth by breathing and exhaling at will, like a dragon.
    PLASMA BLAST:
    Using solar energy you absorb you can unleash it through your hands and at its lower level if projected at someone it can cause them headaches and such. But on a higher level due to emotions or through practice you can disintegrate, shatter or explode and object.
    TELEPORTATION:
    The ability to teleport.
    TIME TRAVEL:
    The ability to travel back and forth through time.
    MOLECULAR OSMOSIS:
    The ability to absorb and mimic the molecular structure of any material touched. The body of the gifted touches a substance, ex. Rock or metal, then the body will reshape the molecular structure to mimic the material.
    CONJURING:
    The ability to think or call for an object and it to appear, also skilled conjurers can conjure people though this takes a lot of practice and wears the body down quickly if one isn't used to doing it.
    THOUGHT PROJECTION:
    The ability to draw objects, people, realities and bring them to life from the paper, the only way if getting rid of it is by destroying the paper it came from.
    TELEPATHIC RESISTANCE:
    The ability to block telepaths from reading your mind, block empaths from knowing your true feelings, and block all other powers having to deal with possession or mind control.
    MIMIC:
    The ability to mimic exact powers of other 'gifted' people by eye contact or close distance. Once eye contact or said distance is broken, you will no longer be able to use their power unless eye contact or distance is re-established. Ex: If in close contact with an Astral Projector, you can astral project, but will have no way of getting back to your body from the astral plane unless the projector astral projects to you again, so you'll be stuck on the astral plane. Same goes for other powers of similar nature, like teleportation.
MANIPULATION.
POWERS HAVING TO DO WITH MANIPULATING
INANIMATE OBJECTS OR ANIMATED BEINGS.

    CONTAGIN: The ability to make others ill.
    HEALING:
    The ability to heal things.
    ANIMATION:
    The ability to bring inanimate objects to life.
    EMMISIONS:
    The ability to emit from the body a natural chemical. The most common of these is pheromones and it can often leave people feeling anything from light-headed to 'head over heels in love' with the gifted. Other emissions can include serotonin, endorphins, and adrenaline.
    ACID GENERATION:
    The ability to generate acid, can be manifested through touch or as a spray.
    PETRIFICATION:
    The ability to turn living objects to stone or to temporarily paralyze them.
    PROBABILITY MANIPULATION:
    The ability to create 'luck'. Be it good or bad. Be wary of karma though... what goes around comes around.
    PHOBIAKINESIS:
    The Ability to Discover someone's fear and bring it to life, or to amplify it.
    VENTRILOQUISIM:
    The ability to cause another person to say what you're thinking.
    ELIXIRKINESIS:
    Healing ability, can also kill people by touch, but also bring them back to life.
    SELF-DETONATION:
    The ability to explode one's body then reform unharmed except for minor scars.
    INVULNERABILITY:
    The ability to be immune to one or more forms of physical damage or injury.
ENVIRONMENTAL.
POWERS HAVING TO DO WITH ANY OF AIR, WATER,
ANIMALS, OR OTHER NATURAL RESOURCES.
    ALCHEMY:
    Essentially turning lead into gold. Otherwise, the ability to change one element into another element.
    DISINTEGRATION:
    The ability to disintegrate the molecular bonds that hold an object together, effectively turning an object to dust. Can be a dangerous gift to have.
    DISTORTION:
    The ability to distort molecular bonds. Usually involving changing one object into another.
    OBJECT MANIPULATION:
    The ability to change the size of an object.
    PROJECTED ILLUSION:
    The ability to create an illusion not attached to the person. Will fall apart under close scrutiny or intense light and darkness.
    SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION:
    The ability to implode an object at will by destroying the molecular bonds completely.
    SONOKINESIS:
    The ability to manipulate sound and create sound in all forms.
    SHOCKWAVES:
    The ability too generate seismic energies that cause shock waves and earth tremors.
    SANDSTORM:
    Ability to turn self and objects into sand which can move quick enough to tear through flesh.
SENSES.
POWERS HAVING TO DO WITH THE FIVE SENSES:
TOUCH, HEARING, SMELL, TASTE, AND SIGHT.
    SUPER SONIC SPEED: The ability to move the speed of light. Hard on the person's joints... and stopping could be something of a problem.
    ESP:
    The ability to see/communicate with the dead.
    FLIGHT:
    The ability to fly, not all have wings.
    HEAT VISION:
    The gifted can shoot beams from their eyes.
    SHEER GRIP:
    The ability to stick to a wall and climb it, or cling to the ceiling.
    X-RAY VISION:
    The ability to see through walls.
    SUPER-HUMAN STRENGTH:
    Ability to be stronger than a normal human.
