Older tomes from Rahleja and Gulimchae are often copied and traded to the Alperin Library for the scholars to read. It is a very large library filled with musty old tomes and newer books. There are teams of scribes working everyday to keep the collection as neat and clean as possible, with certain sections of the library restricted to the student seers for their magic.

He was really working hard on her, overtime! There were wide smirks, smiles and grins spread all over, but too bad those weren't his.

"Oh c'mon! Say something!" Fallen angrily demanded, but despite his intimidating tone, the noble kept on making these weird contorted silly looks on her face but not one single laugh. He had been trying to [b]tickle her[/h] funny for hours. An obvious sign Fallen's desperate and completely losing!

"God she's tough!" The 'interrogating', if can be called torture anyway, decided to stop. Despite being a perverted jerk, he won't stoop that low of himself.

"Y'know if I had better torturing equipment, I bet you would really laugh!" the frustrated theif said, squarely looking at her in the eye. The noble girl of course seemed surprised and then she looked back at him squarely in the eye to which was bigger surprise for the thief. He simply just returned the gesture, Jessica did the same. Soon, both morons had a staring contest but one was taking the real advantage and we know who that would be.

Fallen felt strange but for some reason, the longer she stared into her eyes, the more it seems that see was trying to goggle-eye him until there a sudden loud noise of a door crashing. The thief checked to see what it was and so opened the door, where he saw to his left the two previous guys just busted down the other room which was the janitor's. The janitor's room was actually not that far from the storage room where he kept Jessica.

"Sssh! I'm trying to win a staring contest here and don't you guys know this a library? Keep it down!" He then resumed to his business but as he closed the door, logic slowly caught up with him. He looked back outside again, and yeah, it was Crusty and Farty! Ho' sh!t!

Without much further delay (and stupidity), he quickly grabbed the girl along with the chair and ran like mad, jumping on top of the bookcases and sailing away from those two.

This was really annoying yet harmlessly funny at the same time. Well, her interrogator was anything but what she expected. Jessica couldn't control herself with all the tickling the man was doing to her until the man decided to give up.

"Y'know if I had better torturing equipment, I bet you would really laugh!" the frustrated masked man said, a square look in the eye followed. Jessica was rather appalled but not intimidated by the man's words. Now this guy was trying to be a sadistic clown? He sure had a black sense of humor. In reaction to this, she stared back and pretty they were bot locked to each other's eyes. Jessica though almost tried to use her 'puppy-dog eyes' trick, hoping the man would release her out of overwhelming cuteness mercy until there was a loud crash.

The man left her for awhile to investigate. Jessica then tried to look around for anything sharp she could use but suddenly she was grabbed along with the chair and soon sailing away across the library. As she left, she saw Farlis and Sir Crest as she and theif escaped. Jessica tried to call out to them but only made a weak moan at best. She struggled to get herself loose.

"Empty."

How could he have gotten it wrong? Crest shook his head and looked around again outside. The sounds had been coming fro--

"Sssh! I'm trying to win a staring contest here and don't you guys know this a library? Keep it down!"

That voice! Crest recognized the rough and rebellious sound. The thief was in a room not too far away. Sure enough, even under the cover of the dark library, the dark cape was evident as it ran pell-mell through the library.

"There!" he signaled Farlis before running quickly in pursuit. He could see Jessica bouncing around on the man-- kid's shoulders. Shoulders that Crest would dearly love to tear-off due to the thief getting him involved in this... mess.

"Sssh! I'm trying to win a staring contest here and don't you guys know this a library? Keep it down!"

Eh? Allen?

"There!" Crest signaled Farlis before running after the voice. With a shrug, Farlis followed Crest but could barely follow due to the darkness. He could only thank himself for putting effort on working on his stamina, otherwise he would be able to run that long.

When the first of the two people in front of him passed a moonbeam, he saw Jessica on the shoulder of who he thought was Allen. A sudden instinct hit him when he saw his client in danger and immediately came up with a gamble-type plan.

Taking his staff in one hand, he threw it in an estimated trajectory like how the spear-throwers of Gulimchae did, hopefully hitting "Allen" with only slight injury. It wasn't a practiced strike, but he had to try something.

Unsure if it worked or not, Farlis heard a tug of a cape and a thud. Another stray moonbeam hinted that at least it wasn't Crest. As he was catching up, he hoped the casualty wasn't that bad.

He thought he heard something wheezing by, Fallen turned around and heard something being struck. Well, whatever it was, glad he didn't felt it. He looked back again and saw Crusty was chasing after him. He proceeded to try whacking him off his senses since he has a chair but he almost forgot there was a passenger on it.

...

Ah hell, he'll whack with it anyway.

Fallen tried to make a swing but the noble on it weighed around maybe a hefty amount of carats (or carrots if you consider what she had for today). Fallen ended up a failed miss but the bookcase were hit. The cases were aligned pretty well and so a domino-effect of falling book cases were heading for Crusty and Farty. After the dust settled, he resumed the run but noticed also Jessica looked a little funny. Did he throw her off too much?

"Don't worry citizens! I'll save you from the evil influence of this pink-haired menace that has warped your minds!" Fallen shouted out in the library as he continued to run off.

She continued to struggle in getting out. Jessica almost managed to loosen her hands and get the knot untied but then for some reason, her kidnapper stopped. He turned around probably trying to check on something but out of nowhere, she saw something metallic head right towards her!

'Casper' had unwittingly used her as a meat shield! The strike from the staff hurt the center of her waist pretty badly. Suddenly, she was swung around and a columns of books fell. Jessica felt so queasy, she really wanted to settle down, NOW!

A toilet or a sink would be a real sight for her. Unfortunately, the thief continued on.

"Don't worry citizens! I'll save you from the evil influence of this pink-haired menace that has warped your minds!" 'Casper' shouted out in the library as he continued to run off.

"Eh?! Now I'm the one to blame for all of this?! Okay that's it! I'm no longer scared, I'm ANGRY!" Jessica soon no longer felt queasy but she had murderous look in her eyes. She was not one to be pissed and with some watchful experience from Lady Amelia...

Well, hell had no fury like a woman scorned.

The metal pole hurtled through the air past Crest's head and flew forward in a semi-straight line. It then hit the Lady Jessica in the stomach.

Ouch...

At least Crest couldn't be blamed for that one. That was Farlis' fault. The crazy thief then proceeded to use the "girl-chair" as an impromptu flail. Crest almost stopped to laugh at the sight and goings-on due to sheer hilarity. The trip to the library was worth it for purely different reasons.

Books flew around like birds from their nest of shelves as the girl-chair hit them hard. Crest caught a gleam of anger in the tiny orbs that were the Lady Jessica's eyes.

He jumped over the fallen books and continued to chase the other two with the librarian running behind.

"Don't worry citizens! I'll save you from the evil influence of this pink-haired menace that has warped your minds!"

WHAT?

So the thief was more insane than first observed after all. Funny, he didn't seem that off when they first met. Then again, the thief HAD returned stolen goods and the child right?

Crest hurled Lachrymal in the darkness, but unlike Farlis who had weak night vision, Crest's was excellent. Lachrymal flew straight past the running pair into the dark library. The wakizashi passed through the wood of a bookshelf, weakening the support. It swayed to topple over the two. Good thing the floor tiles seemed newly waxed right after closing time.

An entire bookshelf was a gamble he had to take to save a life. If the girl died, it would be as if Crest had done nothing to save her. If it worked... well, Crest hoped it'd work.

Lachrymal stuck in the stone tile, several yards from where the toppling shelf was.

Farlis didn't even bother noticing the statement. He heard the thud of his staff, but wasn't sure what it actually hit. Unlike the likes of Allen or Crest, he couldn't see well in the dark thus his vision was limited to the darkness in front of him that was Crest.

He caught the sound of a whiz and wood snapping. That wasn't good. A stray moonbeam showed a bookcase breaking away - no doubt the second bounce of his staff - and it was directly ahead of Crest, which only meant one thing. Jessica could die, if not get hurt real bad, and that wouldn't look to good on his already-stained reputation.

Instinct kicking in, he sprinted forward with energy he never tapped into. As much as possible, he tried to control his breathing, but he knew he would end up panting like a horse again. Farlis barely breezed past Crest, not bothering to make any eye contact. He made one big step, then leaped forward. With the momentum pushing him, Farlis tackled Allen and Jessica (hoping he didn't hurt any them that bad). In an instant, the lower half of his body was dragged down by wood and books, causing him and the two to crash down to the floor.

He panted, but his grip on Allen was tight. Farlis didn't bother to be angry right now because he knew of two other people who would like a word with them.

"Do'h!" Fallen shouted as he suddenly felt a kind of forceful shove. There was a loud crash followed and more pages and books flew. Man, this is going s to be a serious sorting clean. up. However, as he looked around to get his bearing after the fall, he saw Farty was one who actually saved them, or rather, saved Lady Jessica. He felt sorry for the librarian putting so much trouble for the the pink menace.

However, as Fallen tried to get up, his pity for the librarian just shrunk below zero. Man, was this guy's grip tight. You think he could had better grip on his client. Well nothing like a little shoe-in-face couldn't fix, so prepare for a smack down to the body and sole!

WHAM!

And a good smack down it was, only problem is the pain throbbing seems to be coming on him instead and he didn't lay a single hit on Farlis yet, something was wrong here.

WHAM!

It must've hurt like hell but why is the pain still coming to him instead?

...

A single glance and he saw something rectangular, hard, thick, leather covered and the words "MAKE LOVE & PEACE Vol.1 by Powell" written on them. There was also a slight flash of pink somewhere.

WHAM!

...Oh crap, he's getting humiliatingly mauled by little miss pinky. How she managed to get out of those binds was mystery but right now, Fallen has to figure to get out of THIS bind. Farlis still hasn't let go of him either. All he could do was catch the book as she tried to him again through her wrists. He struggled with Jessica for a moment, until they heard a knock on the door.

Odd...who the hell would want to check the library at this hour? And there's too many nut cases in here too, hasn't the library faced enough damage already? Suddenly, the girl just let go and dropped the book...on his face.

Was that a finale attack? cause that really hurt as hell. God his poor nose. Fallen couldn't help the pain and he had to just let go. Now there were battering sounds too, this can't be good, it might be the fuzz already at the door though he was kinda certain even with this racket it wasn't that loud enough to call a patrol's attention since the library is usually modeled to absorb noise, not make it louder.

Well can't wait to find out if he's right or wrong, either way that spells 'Enemy at the Gates' and he wasn't prepared to die for his motherland yet. So, in an instant, he left and ran away in his socks and boxer shorts full of smilies. Farlis can keep the pants.
