The Hall of Gathering; Once a Year
Image (c) Respective Owners)
The main building covering the gathering is merely a two-level hall for when it is raining outside. Shaped like a theater, each of the houses and seers take seats in varying places, while they are served with drinks and refreshments--as meetings may take from up to ten minutes to a whole day.

"What about you Private? I've heard from some not very reputable sources that you've swept someone off their feet in the Ampitheater." Seris nearly spit back the champagne he was sipping back into the glass.
"That's why the agency is called 'The Mole'. They don't exactly know what they're talking about." He replied, trying to cover up his act. "They've been around ever since the founding of Aspyre, and even I am not sure of that since they are the ones who made that claim!" Realizing that his voice was rising, he recomposed himself and continued. "I only helped a woman with a psychological issue, that's all."
Seris took another sip when Crest prodded another question once more. "So Private O'Treal, who are you going to whisk off into the starless night?" While Seris was ready for this encounter, he immediately noticed Crest's visible complexion suddenly whiten. The foreigner seemed to space out like before, but before he could wave a hand in front of his face, a female voice caught the attention of both men.
"Good evening. We were wondering..."
Lady Amelia with Lady Jessica? Approaching them? Seris was not expecting this.
"... How it is like to serve at the military. I suppose both of you are finely conditioned in combat? Tell us, it seems fascinating."
"Uhh..." Seris nearly choked as he tried to pretend that he was talking to his father instead of the Windsor House head. "It's best described as voluntary service. Military work isn't so much about the combat, but more of how to best serve the city and its needs."
It didn't turn out as bad as it sounded. That was exactly the same thing he told his father the night before he joined the military. Seris ended up flashing a smile at the both of them as he waited for Crest to reply. Hopefully the foreigner would be able to put up with the question since he sure didn't look like the military type.

Jessica followed suit after Lady Amelia. They went to converse with the nearest pair of men nearby. Judging by their appearance and overheard conversation or what was it before the other man suddenly went quiet, one was a private and the other...
...was no total stranger to her at all.
My, the world felt so small, maybe she should take up a job in politics? Regardless, she just politely smiled and pretended to listen intently as she can, trying to look like she had a good time.
"Good evening. We were wondering..." Lady Amelia did a quick over-all scan of both people. Jessica only noted the strange pointy-eared man.
"...wow so elves do exist after all! I wonder if I can ask him where Santa lives on the north. He seems rather tall for one though"
"... How it is like to serve at the military. I suppose both of you are finely conditioned in combat? Tell us, it seems fascinating." Lady Amelia did most of the talking in conversation, Jessica could only follow up with an eager nod with pretended keen interest, looks like all that acting at the school play did count for something.
"Uhh..." The elf man nearly choked for some reason, perhaps he was nervous seeing a lady human? "It's best described as voluntary service. Military work isn't so much about the combat, but more of how to best serve the city and its needs."
As they went on, Reis came to her side. Jessica briefly glanced to her translator maid who seemed to smirk for some reason. By that gesture alone, she could tell whatever it was, she wasn't going to like hearing it from her. Oddly, her parents were sailing away and chose to watch the Pavene between Lady Marija and His majesty. Did Lady Amelia's plan worked? A pair of curious raised brows instantly asked her maid some answers, her maid began to speak in a low whisper.
"Well, they were going to ask you if you wanted to try delicious new desserts by the buffet but, since they realized you and Lady Amelia were talking to some fine gentlemen, they decided to leave you alone." Reis told her, trying to fight back a giggle though.
Jessica fumed and rolled her eyes but she couldn't blame Lady Amelia. She had only herself to to blame. Well she can't excuse herself out in this conversation though, that would seem to rude when they just met. Suddenly, she heard the crack of a glass, and then another crack. There was another scene now added to gathering. It was Lord Thobari and he seemed more visibly upset than she was. However, something or rather someone else caught her eye.
A man in a mask, with a plate of gelatin? Well it wasn't like masquerade was strictly prohibited but she just felt an inkling of knowing him somewhere. She however, chose to dismiss the feeling instead, her emotions might be just clouding her judgment. Jessica was more concerned about King Haine and what might happen between two certain countries. If things turn uglier, she should do what she can as her lineage of peacekeepers should do.

Crest fixed himself up as the two ladies approached the two of them and asked the private something in the military.
He listened.
Your brother would have had a different, deeper understanding of the question. And his answer would have shown it too... once. Now your brother works for us. But why did he leave you I wonder? Does he truly believe in The Balance, or is it something else?
Crest truly felt the world's size shrink into nothingness. He ignored the feeling and turned towards the two after they had finished speaking to the man who was Twinblade's brother. Crest smiled innocently.
"Good evening ladies. Lady Jessica, I still appreciate the welcome tune you played for me upon my arrival in Aspyre." Crest took both their hands one after the other and placed a light kiss on both. Courtesy had to be maintained after all.
"An introduction is in order I guess. Crest Matteus du Feu Noir, milady, The Lady Jessica and Reis I am acquianted with already. I am the son of a lowly merchant whose base of operations resides in Krelos, although we are a slight mix of Devonese as well, which I hope explains my appearance. Charmed to meet your cqaintance milady, and condolences for your recent loss." Crest bowed again to the Lady von Windsor.
A country led by children...
Crest was sufficiently amused now.
Crest took another champagne flute from a passing waiter with enough deft to not get noticed by the passing man. No buzz yet. Good. He offered the drink to the soldier beside him.
"Oh... not to impose or anything ladies, but could one of you do me the favor of a dance with my wallflower friend Private O'Treal here? I'd be willing to partner with the one who is left alone so no one gets too lonely or left behind... Besides, the dancefloor looks lonely without the two of you to grace it."
Crest smiled in all sincerity and amusement. This would make things more amusing and productive for the four of them. His lips curved, blood-red and waiting for an answer.

"Good evening ladies. Lady Jessica, I still appreciate the welcome tune you played for me upon my arrival in Aspyre."
Huh. So Jessica knew him. Was that a kiss on her hand? Huh.

Immediately, Amelia seemed to have an inkling of a feeling there was something wrong with this man. Blame her ability to detect the motives of others. She curled her lip. "Why, yes. Jessica, why don't you go with Private O'Treal? I shall entertain our guest over here."

[Ooc: Permission was given to do this. ♥ Time to liven up this thread~]
After the flush in her cheeks became permanent, it was affirmed that Anke was indeed intoxicated. She'd long since become unable to walk in a straight line or hold coherent conversations, not that she'd tried the latter at all since starting to drink.
"Hmhmhm.~"
A song grew at the back of her mind, the basic rhythm clearer than anything else. Anke's step gained a bit of a bounce, and she slid on impulse, arms raising as if to praise some invisible lord. She got a few nervous looks for this, but she paid no mind. In fact, Anke decided, they were not disturbed enough. She'd make their apprehension bear fruit--
Within seconds she'd climbed on the table and was running (read: skipping and stumbling) down the length, knocking food and drink aside indiscriminately. The Head of Schuldeif, one of Aspyre's three Generals made a horrible mess of her surroundings and halted near Amelia, having recognized her from afar.
"You're a young man, hard man," Anke laughed. She squatted and reached out, stroking her cheek in a feather-light touch. "Shoutin' in the street, gonna take on the world someday--"
The hand constricted. Yes, yes, she could remember the lyrics now! Anke snatched Amelia's bicep and hauled her up onto the table with her, twirling her out of instinct rather than any experience with dancing. "You've got blood on your face.~" She thumbed away imagined red from the other Head's nose and swung them both into whirling motion, thoroughly demolishing whatever plates Anke hadn't ruined before.
Amelia was practically weight-less, but that might have been the drink talking. "You big disgrace, wavin' your banner all over the place--" Suddenly Anke had breached personal boundaries (well, more so) and had her bent over backwards, kissing the living daylights out of her for all the world to see. Not minding any blows that might come her way, Anke released her with a cackle.

They decided to rest for a moment, they were both tired from the dancing. He sat on the chair, his mother was busy socializing with some nobles, her "book club" per se. Haine had cider on had as he took in the liquid. He never minded the other guests, he just observed them.
When suddenly...
General Anke pulled up Amelia up a table. "You're a young man, hard man," Anke laughed. She squatted and reached out, stroking her cheek in a feather-light touch. "Shoutin' in the street, gonna take on the world someday--"
Oh. That song.
He curled up a smile, rising and approached a nearby Lord. The Lord turned and said, "M-my liege!"
He smirked and whispered, "I'll triple your pay will be tonight." A grin. "But do as I say."
With his boot, he stomped twice then clapped. The Lord, confused did nothing but complied. As expected, it was a domino effect, people were doing it. Haine just fell back and sat. Haine just observed the drunk Schuldeif head amusingly. Finally! This party had a life!
"You've got blood on your face.~" She thumbed away imagined red from the other Head's nose and swung them both into whirling motion, thoroughly demolishing whatever plates Anke hadn't ruined before. You big disgrace, wavin' your banner all over the place--" Anke did the unexpected, she kissed Amelia.
He rose doing the chant. "We will, we will...rock you!"
And a sea of people followed. "We will, we will...rock you!" The court chorused.
Haine got fed up for some odd reason, he want to vent his anger in a healthy, non-violent way. Screw his mother. He hopped into a table, did the stomp-stomp-clap thing and began singing in acapella. Fuck you, Mordred. "Buddy, you're an old man, poor man" He sang. "Pleadin with your eyes gonna make you some peace some day, You got mud on your face, You big disgrace...Somebody better put you back in your place."
His mother furious as she looks. Though there was this light smile on her face.
"We will, we will...rock you!" He said.
"We will, we will...rock you!" The court chorused, with thundering stomps and claps.
