Long Overdue: Hiatus
Well this is stupidly overdue...

As I'm sure you've noticed, the site's been kind of dead. I doubt you want all the details, it'd take forever anyway, but it's been decided that for now we're going to be taking a break and going on a hiatus. It's either that or I take over the site completely without Emily. D: We don't want to lose Emily, so for now bear with us while we get things together and find the time so the both of us can work on the site together. I'm sorry that I can't keep it active at the moment, but we'll send an email out when we plan on reopening if you're still interested. Love ya AV.

P.S (Cause I had to include one of these here), I'm not sure how long the hiatus will be. Possibly a month or two. I'll try not to let it drag out any longer than that.

My button doesn't match. :( Where's my matching button Emily?

Field of Neutrality
With the most unique name ever, the Field of Neutrality is a place where all powers are nullified. As such it has become the perfect meeting ground for members of different elemental groups to have 'non-violent' meetings. It literally is a field, which seems to stretch far into the horizon like an ocean. The sun never shines through the clouds in this area, but it also never sets, making it seem like a rainstorm is constantly approaching, but never quite there yet.

Fire Territory Trenches
Just before the Fire Territory begins there are trenches dug by Fire Elementals to keep the wayward traveler out. They are around 15 feet deep and 20 feet wide making it difficult for most elementals to jump across without falling in. Naturally the bottoms are lined with spikes. The only really safe way to cross is to use the bridge, however, there are Fire Elemental guards there.

Onocton Village
Just outside the trenches lays Onocton Village. Although there are a few other smaller villages, this main village is where most of the homes are. Made out of often clay and a stone not unlike brick, homes are always warm and tend to be a bit small. Often times they are built into the sides of small hills- the remains of now inactive shield volcanoes.

Brick Footpath
Referred as often just the footpath, this is the only paved road in the Fire Territory. This footpath is said to have showed up around the same time the Zephyr did, naturally brick is not a substance that even exists in the Aether Void as it's a human invention however no Elemental knows or would know this. Unmoved and carefully laid out, no one is ironically allowed to touch the brick. Instead anyone who wants to use the lengthy footpath has to walk on either side of the wide, slightly worn out brick path. The footpath eventually leads straight to the most sacred part of the fire territory, the Quintessence Field.

Quintessence Field
The only real path to the Quintessence Field is through the footpath which, naturally, no one is allowed to use. It has no fences around it like the rest of the Fire Territory, however there is a small village of Shamen who avidly vow to protect the land. Often considered zealots, they consider this territory sacred for more than one reason. Most fire elementals know that nothing will grow on this land unless there is a Quintessence in existence, but many don't know that in the exact center- exactly where the brick road randomly stops, there is a pedestal that is mostly covered in mysteriously dry brush. Every once in a while human artifacts are said to show up here.

Eastern Craters
The Fire Territory is well known for its shield volcanoes. All but two of them are inactive and harmless however the two active ones are spew lava every few weeks. Most people aren't stupid enough to come near this place as it's dangerous for obvious reasons however there is always someone willing to explore this mostly unexplained region. There aren't any human artifacts that mysteriously show up here, however, this is the only place in Aether Void where anyone could see not gentle slopes but something similar to mountains.

Hot Springs
Near the Eastern Craters lies the Hot Springs. They aren't well known and many elementals have yet to use them, but they are clustered at the base of a particularly active volcanoe. Though it can be dangerous to use these hot springs, the lava is slow moving and thus easily avoided. The biggest problems with these hot sprigs are the almost constant amount of thick black soot in the air combined with the Zephyr- for many this is an intolerable combination that makes breathing difficult to impossible.

Neoutopia
Neoutopia, often just referred to as just Neo, is a meadow that has almost no real weather change and has very little Zephyr in it. Unlike other places where Zephyr sits in the air as a dark, dense, ink-like substance here it is thin and the sun can almost show through. The sky is more pink than purple in this area and many types of grasses similar to what can be found in Earth grow readily here. Neo sits on the outskirts of the Water Territory and is where many nomadic tribes stay when they have no where else to go. Needless to say it isn't uncommon to see grass huts and small tribes of people living in this still lush, and mostly undisturbed area.

Sanctuary
Just beyond Neo lies the heart of the Water Territory and something that no Water Elemental created but instead worship. It came about a little after the Zephyr started pouring into the Aether Void- naturally it is another Human Artifact. Though a human might have considered this a decrepit old house, Water Elementals consider this the sanctuary. While the original structure lays undisturbed in the same spot is suddenly showed up in, Water Elementals recreated the same house with the same floor plans and similar building materials only a quarter of a mile away from the original. The remade house is where Water Elemental delegates meet and is also where the leader of the Water Territory lives.

Sanctu Town
Not far away from the decrepit old house lies Sanctu Town. It is one of the most developed of all the elemental villages and also one of the most dense. Not only Water elementals but also Earth and Aer elementals often take advantage of this village. Near the largest town market of all the Basic Light Elemental villages, the water territory village is known for it's market and more well to do homes. Styled after he decrepit old house, much of the Water Territory homes are made from a mixture of naturally forming grass and clay that is fitted to look like wood.

The Training Grounds
Made up of Water, Earth, and Aer elementals these are often young children who have yet to develop powers who are trained by a few older mentors. It's really a flat expanse of space that spills over onto the Aer Territory. Because it has very little weather of any kind it makes for a decent spot for training little kids but also tends to attract criminal types looking for somewhere to delegate. This area is mostly covered by a thick, dense, high grass that is cleared in some parts to make visibility better.

The Lake of Wandering
The crown jewel of the Water Territory, the Lake of Wandering is extremely hard to get to. The last remaining part of the original Aether Void Water Elementals before the Zephyr tore through the land, the floating lake glides above ground by nearly a half mile and floats as a cloud by a magic that can't be explained. Held together by roots of a very old tree that lives to the far side of the lake, what used to be water inside the basin of the lake is now a collective mixture of liquid Aether and souls of the deceased. The lake is extremely hard to find because it moves with the breeze and often seems to simply disappear right off the map but for those lucky enough to find the lake it holds very valuable Aether.

Eternal Forests
Surrounding the Earth Territory on all sides is a dense forest that very few people are able to get through. It remains as one of the few places people could still find meat. Meat, like cloth, is extremely valuable as it is also extremely rare as many of the original animals of the Aether Void were wiped out indirectly from the Zephyr. Dangerous and home to a particularly dangerous breed of giant centipede, these forests protect the Earth Territory from most other elementals but also trap many people within the confines of their somewhat rural village.

Terracota Village
The Terracota Village is located roughly in the center of the forest. It's easy to get to from the outskirts of the village for anyone who's brave enough to enter the forest; however, the villagers can tend to be somewhat vicious toward outsiders. Very superstitious, Earth Elementals are well known for being fearful of any intruders who isn't obviously an Earth Elemental. Everyone in the Earth Elemental Village is given a sort of job that they follow from the time they are 8 until they either die or leave the village. These houses are the only ones that are made of wood and often up to three families will live in the same shelter.

Cave of Shattered Souls
This cursed ground is strictly avoided by most, this graveyard used to be sacred but is now universally feared for it's connections to the Underground Salt Territory. This is the main entrance to the Salt Territory and also the easiest way to get out of the Earth Territory without needing to go through the forest- however in many respects this is also the most dangerous. A cave more than anything else, it was built into the ground and hallowed out to allow people the full experience of visiting their loves ones. Naturally it's mostly decayed now and even Salt Elementals aren't naive enough to stay in this cave long for fear that it would fall apart.

Granary Fields
One of the last places to find any kind of farming, the idea was taken naturally from the humans. Located just beyond the forests and fairly close to the Fire Territory; the plants grow best in the fertile soil created from the near-constant volcanic activity. Mostly growing wheat, which has since been deemed a weed in most other territories, this stretch of land is fiercely protective of their crop. While everywhere else the wheat is dry and too small to use, when grown here the wheat dries out the land but also grows tall and usable. There are only a few farmers who own most if not all this land as their methods have become more commercialized over years causing the small-family farms to disappear slowly.

Abandoned Church
In the middle of the dense forest lays something that simply can't be explained. An abandoned church of some kind has been sitting in this forest since the Zephyr took over and naturally many rabid animals have taken it over as well as trees and brush but some of the scriptures and art remain. When it was first discovered by a few Earth Elementals it was thought to be the answer to everything. Despite not knowing the language or understanding the pictures this church is thought to be sacred and thus untouchable. It isn't guarded, but it isn't recommended to enter what's left of this building as now it's been since hallowed out and many animals have made their home under what's left of its roof.

Chieftan Residence
In the center of Terracota Village, the Chieftain lives in one of the smallest houses but his family also gets to live there alone which is simply unheard of in the Earth Territory. Usually a man who is born into the position, the Chieftain doesn't necessarily need to be the strongest but must be "chosen." In the Earth Territory the Chieftain is the undisputed leader and his word is treated as law with no checks or balances. Needless to say this has lead to many rebellious outbursts from the younger generation Earth Elementals.

Empty Fields
A large expanse of land that isn't really used for anything, unlike Neo, the Empty Fields are flooded with more zephyr than any other place in the Aether Void. It's almost impossible to cross these fields safely without being overwhelmed by the copious amounts of revolting ooze slowly suffocating everything around it. Nothing grows or survives long in this area so most people consider these fields nothing more than a trap and an open grave.

Aether Rip
Although there are a few places rips in the Aether Void can be found, this is the largest and most famous of all the rips. Accessible to anyone who can get to it, it looks like a thin black line with no shadow, space, or dimension to speak of. Many don't notice it, especially now with the darker Zephyr skies that don't add much contrast to the black line. This rip is famous because it is fabled to have allowed an Aer Elemental beyond the protective Aether Void. Many people don't believe in it's existence, and even more strongly believe that now there is no way to reuse the rip.

Garden of the Misguided
Found up in the sky, the flowers grown here are abnormal to the truest sense. Aerical petals (Found on the stem of a Vanusta Flower), are known to arouse lust in another's eye if eaten. Earthika thorns (Also found on the stem of a Vanusta Flower), are known to tempt a soul toward jealousy and hatred. Some say that all of the flowers and plants here really have magical powers, other says it's just all false. Clouds are the dirt for this plantlife, and clouds also make up the pathways that allow Aerians to view all. It is often called the Garden of the Misguided because an Aerian may be able to pick a flower or plant, but only an Earth Elemental is able to bring a plants ability to life; however, the Garden is only able to be accessed by Aerian's so this theory is yet to be tested out.

Zephyr Falls
Just beyond the Aether Rip is such a majestic, beautiful, poisonous thing as the Zephyr Falls. Created because of the literal overflow of Zephyr into the Aether Void it seems to start in the middle of the sky and cascades down. It doesn't look anything like a waterfall though, because it's almost as light as the air it surrounds, the Zephyr doesn't sink very far before it is blown away. It's a deep purple, in fact it almost looks like an inky black here and there is far more Zephyr here than anywhere else. Many people have tried to stop the Zephyr Falls, which many elementals hypothesize is the main way the Zephyr has been getting into the Aether Void but so far no one has gone to the Zephyr Falls and come back alive much less sane enough to tell their tale.

Palanka Ruins
Although Palanka City is little more than a ghost town now, it used to rival that of Sanctu Town. Because it sits in the middle of the empty fields very few elementals have been able to survive here, however, the few elementals who have been able to survive in this zephyr have began to grow a certain amount of tolerance to the ooze. They don't breathe nearly as often, and they are very inactive during the day when the zephyr is most suffocating. Most of these Aer elementals are monks who have a spiritual attachment to Palanka City.

Rika City
Situated on the outskirts of the Aer territory where the Zephyr is weakest, Rika City is known for high levels of pollution. Although Rika City is habitable, the people living here have to build a tolerance to the zephyr and more often than not grow weak and slowly die. Despite this, Rika City is one of the biggest cities in all the territories. Most Aer's live in Rika city and stay here for the duration of their lives refusing to leave if not only to pay homage to the late Palanca City. Unlike what is left of Palanca City, however, Rika much more modern with homes built with glass, a substance which had gotten into the Aer territory suddenly from the aether rip, and crystal making their homes extremely durable and for the most part protecting the fragile elementalists from the harsh climate outside.

Bright Mouth
Bright Mouth is little more than a grave sight, it is in fact at the very end of the Cave of Shattered Souls and is almost directly under the Earth Village. This is the entrance to the Salt Territory, it's nearly impossible to get down here unless you are a Salt yourself because the Bright Mouth refers to the blinding light at the end of the Cave of Shattered souls, this light is created by the different soul fragments all trying to converge together to recreate the original whole soul. Salt's are unaffected by this, but most Elementals can't see in this blinding light which engulfs the entire Salt Territory and are spotted quickly then killed.

The Grind
It's call the Grind by Salts, but it's little more than a network which works much like Rika City does. The Underground is dug into burial sites that usually house different families of Salts. For the most part, all the Salts are all related to the Queen in some way; like in an Ant colony she is almost always pregnant. Other women are allowed to get pregnant but it isn't in their best interests as Salt babies begin eating at the soul of their mother upon infancy. Most Salts aren't able to survive this so needless to say there are very few family units outside of the Queen's huge family unit. The Grind is composed of many intricate, small hallways which all lead to all of the homesteads and will all eventually lead to the center citadel which houses the Salt Queen.

Salt Citadel
It's fabled that at one time, Salts actually lived on the surface and neighbored the Martinet Territory for space and land, but then one day the Brimstone king was somehow able to bury the Salt Territory under several dozen feet of soil.
This Citadel is the only remnants left of that fable. It is a giant, sparkling white castle which connects all the homesteads together through several networks and passage ways. The first floor of the castle is mostly just a council where Salt's are put to trial when they've done something wrong. On the very last floor, the fifth, is the chamber the Salt Queen stays in. It's rumored that the four floors in between are all nurseries for her many babies.

I Ka Barra
This is the training field and the main entrance into the Martinet Territory. I Ka Barra is a mantra of both the Brimstone and Quicksilvers yet neither territories know exactly what it actually means. The most anyone really knows about it is that it represents a strong work ethic and a willingness to kill oneself in order to become stronger. Sitting on the outskirts of the Martinet Territory, I Ka Barra is where many young men are trained to become part of the Martinet Army. This is where they become true monsters. Very few elementals can get past the I Ka Barra without becoming another practice simulation.

Hakol Kashuras
Just beyond the I Ka Barra is the Hakol Kashuras: the homesteads of the Martinet Territory. They are thick, small, and very very close together. Because the territory itself is relatively small but so many Martinets are living here, many of them share very small homes or don't have homes at all and instead attempt to leave in the castle. This never really works, as no one can get into the Martinet Castle unless they have a death wish. For this reason there are a lot of homeless martinets, misery seems to loom over this city like a dark cloud.

Het Kasteel van de dood
The Castle of the Dead, as it's often called, is a black citadel which looks stunningly similar to its sister the Salt Citadel. The only real difference between these two strongholds is that the Salt Citadel is pure white and seemingly glowing while the Castle of the Dead seems to be the exact office. It's not really a black so much as it's an absence of anything at all. It is disgustingly huge and takes up most of the city yet only one person is allowed to live in this castle which causes most of the inhabitants to resent the Martinet King.
