the ground floor
the ground floor is where one will find the great hall with its amazing bewitched ceiling and gigantic four house tables. be sure to come here during halloween and christmas! this floor is also where the hufflepuff common room is located as well. For the teachers of hogwarts, upon this level resides the staff room.

the first floor
this is where the highly interesting subject of muggle studies is taught. also where all defense against the dark arts lessons take place. break you leg playing quidditch? somebody fed you some puking pastilles and you can't find the cure? some here if you need to use the hospital wing.

the second floor
you really need the bathroom? well the second floor isn't such a great place for you to stop, it only houses moaning myrtle's bathroom, which isn't such a great place. no doubt she'll interrogate you on the life of harry potter and not let you leave till she's satisfied. also there is the trophy room, and the history of magic classroom.

the third floor
a very educational floor. here you can learn charms, ancient runes and transfiguration. make sure you don't slack off!

the fourth floor
arithmancy is taught on this floor. the library also resides here so come and study up to impress your professors. also there is the prefects bathroom.

the fifth floor
welcom to the fifth floor, boys can come here to apply their make-up, well if they wear it o_o, it's the boys bathroom. this floor also hosts the center of all secret pasageways over the school. they spread down to the dungeons and even lower, and span out to hogsmeade! and what is it you need? an ice cold soda? well if that's what you think, a room with a vending machine might just appear; as on this floor is also the room of requirement.

the sixth floor
are you a gryffindor or ravenclaw? well is so this is the floor for you, as you will spend much of your time here as this is where you common rooms are.

the towers
there are oh so many towers around hogwarts. if you are able to climb up all those circular staircases, the towers are all in here.

grounds
awh, the great outdoors! come here for herbology and care of magical creatures lessons! or to practice your quidditch on the quidditch pitch. what bout a quick dip in the black lake? or maybe you just want to relax in the courtyard. well all that + anything else you want to do outside all come under the wonderful hogwarts school grounds!

the ministry of magic
to enter the ministry via the visitors entrance, one must dial the number 62442 (which can spell out the word "MAGIC" using text-keys) into a specific public telephone and state one's name and reason for entering. passes are then issued (apparently through a magical system) and the telephone box then descends through the ground into the ministry's lobby in floor B8. a floor directory of the ministry of magic is as follows; note, as the entire ministry is underground, the higher the floor number, the deeper the floor.

st mungos hospital for magical maladies and injuries
st mungo's hospital for magical maladies and injuries is a wizarding hospital in london. it was founded by famous healer mungo bonham in the 1600s. the emblem of st mungo's is a wand crossed with a bone. to enter the premises, one may step through the window of what appears to be a red-bricked, condemned department store called purge and dowse, ltd. this acts as a magical gateway to the main building, much like the barrier at king's cross station to platform 9¾. the interior, on the other hand, looks exactly as a hospital should. medics at the hospital are known healers or mediwizards.
