Character Info

Real Name: Alexei Karpenko
Alias(es): Class War
Age: 19
Character Type: Science Freak
Alignment: Evil
Faction: Russian Army, Spetsgruppa O (Will post that later)
Occupation: Soldier
Powers/Skills: It's difficult to classify Alexei's abilities as “powers” at a first glance, however, spend a few minutes watching him perform, and it's clear that Alexei goes far beyond the normal perception of human. Easily capable of outperforming any Olympic athlete, Alexei Karpenko is one of the most perfect human specimens to have ever been produced. Alexei is capable of soaking up ludicrous amounts of damage, running at speeds that push world records, and lifting weights much heavier than himself. His brain has been hardwired to meticulously file away every bit of information, ensuring that he never misses a detail.

Besides his inherent physical capabilities, Alexei has had the best training that Russia had to offer. He is, by any reasonable definition, a true “supersoldier.”

Weakness(es): Anything that could kill a normal man could also kill Alexei, it just requires a little more of it. There is also speculation that Alexei's body simply can't handle running at such a high level. Flesh and bone is still flesh and bone, and it is theorized that his will deteriorate at a much faster rate than a normal human's. Compared with some meta-humans, Alexei simply can't keep up, given that his powers merely enhance the physical abilities latent in all humans.

Appearance: Like some sort of vigilant eagle, Alexei always stands erect and at attention. Well defined muscle stands out from every limb, taut, steely ropes that writhe and twist beneath tanned skin. Dark eyes stare out beneath a prominent brow, all set above a stern mouth that rarely, if ever smiles. Most interesting, Alexei bears an uncanny resemblence to Josef Stalin despite his shaven head and face. This is the result of a number of genetic engineering experiments. Indeed, Alexei is, in a way, Stalin's most direct desendent.

Unlike other metahumans, Alexei never hides behind a mask or a spandex suit. While he will wear civilian clothing- t-shirts, jeans, etc- while he is undercover, his “supersuit” is often no more than military fatigues or the uniform of the Russian army.

Personality: Like a perfect imitation of the government he was created by, Alexei is generally cold and uncaring. Emotions rarely seem to touch the supersoldier, and even the most horrific displays of violence and tragedy phase him little. Perhaps the only thing he truly does care for is his mother country. Having been indoctrinated with communist ideaology from a young age, he has a tendency to refer to Soviet Russia often, sometimes blurting out propagandha slogans he's picked up.

Alexei has an extrememly strong sense of duty, living soley for his country. If he has any habits, he's never given any indication of it to anyone. Alexei is blantantly racist, firm in his belief that Russians are the best race on Earth.

History: Since at least the 60s, Soviet Russia has been dabbling in experiments that would shock humanity, pushing every boundary of ethics there is. Most notable are the attempts at reviving the dead and transplanting, however, for decades there has been another project running, a classified attempt at creating the ultimate soldier. While many such attempts were had, all failed, resulting in awful mutations and horrible fatalities that turned the stomachs of even the most steely researchers. Despite protests from high-level scientists, the harsh heads of government demanded the experiment continue.

Fast forward to the testing of the Omega missile. Scientists, realizing the potential of the reality warping powers of the weapon, attempt to use it to aid in their supersoldier project. After applying its properties to numerous test-tube babies, the test is deemed a failure, as all but one fetus die. The remaining subject is forgotten by all but a handful of scientists. The child is delivered a few days after the M-Day bombing and named Alexei Karpenko, after the scientist originally in charge of the experiment.

Expectations are low for the infant, who at first exhibits numerous defects, and bets are placed on how long it will live. A mere few days later however, and scientists are shocked to discover the child has become better, healthier, even more strong and self-reliant than normal infants. Interest is renewed in the child and, to the delight of many key scientists, the supersoldier program is once again seen as a real possibility. While life is good for the researchers, for the child, it becomes difficult.

As soon as he can walk, Alexei is placed into rigorous training routines, working his overdeveloped muscle for absurd amounts of time. Schooling is difficult, and Alexei is required to complete problems that are difficult for children many years older than he. Throughout his early life, Alexei is indoctrinated with Soviet ideas, being forced to read and recite various works by communist authors. As Alexei grows up he becomes increasingly cold and distant, though undeniably patriotic. At just 12 years old he is placed in a Spetsnaz force, training with, and eventually outperforming every member.

A few years later, Alexei is named head of a newly formed Spetsnaz organization, composed of various metahumans. This brings us to the present day where, after a few wildly successful trial missions, the group is placed in New Atlantis, ordered to wreack as much havoc as possible, and informed that they are to be claimed as independent from the Soviet Union, in order to avoid reigniting the war.
