Boromir climbed up the rocky cliff. His men were right behind him.
"Boromir, sir" a man said. "It is a deep drop from here. We will have to go eastwards, through the caves to get off this peak" "Luck does not favor us" Boromir said. "It will take us a day longer to go by that path" "The caves are infested with goblins, i have heard" another man said. "Perfect" Boromir said sarcastically. "Aragorn, Legolas! What do you think. If we try to rapple down the cliff, we might get injured, or even die" -------------------- I bear the ring... the ring that could cause the end of the world... "It is not wise to injure ourselves before we can complete our mission..." Legolas mused, weighing the benefits and minuses of each choice.
"If we go through the caves... we may lose men and supplies..." Legolas said, "Yet, if we try to descend on this side, the same may happen..." "Strider, what do you think of this?" Legolas asked, "The orcs are many and their numbers grow constantly." -------------------- |

"I think we have no choice" Boromir said. "We must pass through the caves. I'm sure strider agrees"

OOC: You wanted my opinion on going through a cave, or jumping down a cliff? Do you really need my opinion on this? >_<
Got to do everything around here. <3 ~_^ IC: "Of course, I agree. The mountain seems more treacherous. Plus, at least, with the caves and goblins, we can die fighting, not screaming for our lives in a free-fall." Aragorn said, to try and lighten the mood, as most of the men of Boromir looked restless at the thought of either trail. -------------------- |

ooc: that was tenan's call, asking u for ur opinion.
ic: "Then we go through the caves" Boromir said. "Horsemen on the outer circle and men on foot at the core. We must expect any form of danger, any attack at any minute. Kill or get killed, but do not betray the others. Let us move on" -------------------- I bear the ring... the ring that could cause the end of the world... Ooc: It is what they would have asked him in the books if they had come to something like this. Remember, Aragorn was the leader. ^_^
Meyah, take that. Ic: Legolas did not feel comfortable with the idea of going through the caves, but he said nothing, even though his senses warned him against taking such a path. What was it that was troubling him so? Without another word, the party entered the caves and began to trek through the dimly lit tunnels.... -------------------- |

The group entered the caves, and were soon surrounded by darkness.
"This is pleasant" Boromir said. "Remember men, we must not separate. Unity is our strength. And remember, Aragorn and Legolas are as much your commanders as i am. Now we proceed. Keep your blades drawn!" Boromir led the party ahead. They had been walking for a few hours, when they heard a scream. One of the horsemen fell to the ground, dead. "What was that?" a man asked. "Don't tell me..." Boromir said. "Goblins! Watch out men!" -------------------- I bear the ring... the ring that could cause the end of the world... "Somehow, I knew we would run into orcs very soon." Legolas said as he whipped out his bow and notched an arrow, searching for any creature foolish enough to enter his vision...

OOC: I'm not a nerd like you though, and don't know everything about LOTR! Orc-face! =P
IC: Aragorn slashed a near goblin, as he pulled his sword out. He didn't hear much, but from the sounds, it didn't sound like there were too many of them. "Just as I thought. There may not be many of them in here anymore from the last time we past through." As he said that, he cut down another goblin, and this confirmed it as they were scared to take on so many, even though they could see better in the darkness, and had the advantage in their favor. OOC: God I'm hoping I'm talking about the same cave as in the first movie. >_< -------------------- |

ooc: for now, it's just a cave.
ic: Boromir pierced his blade through a goblin's heart. He watched as the goblin shook in pain, and finally passed. "This is not even a challenge" he said. "Get rid of these pests! Let us proceed... these filthy beings should not hold us back!" The goblins were easily disposed of. There were a few minor injuries amongst the men, but nothing to worry about. "Faster!" Boromir commanded his men. "The orcs do not wait for us! Keep your blades at hand!" -------------------- I bear the ring... the ring that could cause the end of the world... Aragorn was keeping a steady pace with the bulk of the group; those who fell behind were picked off by orcs, those who ventured too far were sometimes taken out, if they were too far for Legolas to get a good shot on the orc, otherwise, leading was not a big concern, as Legolas steadied his bow for the front, really.
Aragorn was in the middle, sort of, but would help if need be. "How much further do you think this cave is, by chance?" As he asked this, a door was seen, with a dim light within it. "There!" Someone shrieked, and was taken out by an arrow, dropping to the floor, dead. The group made it unscathed the rest of the way. Legolas was first in, followed by two or three men, than Boromir, and Aragorn. Everyone stopped in their tracks. Inside was a host to hundreds of sleeping goblins, and what's worse, over ten trolls. "Wow, so many." Aragorn whispered, surprised. "They must've been on their way through these caves to somewhere." Aragorn mused, as he looked at the others. "How should we proceed? Orcs have excellent hearing if not been drinking, and if we're in too deep when they awake, we're screwed, but to fight off so many from here would even be more or less of a feat. I'm not sure, what do you guys think?" He asked Boromir and Legolas. -------------------- |

Legolas seemed pensive, "The tunnels were not the best choice to take, I cautioned you. We have three choices, turn around and scale the mountain, fight here, or attempt to sneak through unnoticed. The latter certainly not being feasible with so many AND horses. Fighting isn't likely to be a very positive outcome either, unless we can lure them into this enclosed area and pick them off like that."
