Aragorn and Legolas arrived in Mirkwood Forest a day after leaving Rivendell.*
Aragorn looked around. "Well, we're here. Let us hope we may gain some allies out of this." Aragorn stated, as he got off his horse, and lead it with its reigns as he set off.... OOC:*Don't know how long it would've taken, because I hardly know anything about LOTR, still, so meh...And, yeah....Forgot Mirkwood, as well....=\ -------------------- |

Ooc: About 12 days to a month, I can't remember either... LOL
Ic: Legolas followed Aragorn's example and led the way. "Remember to be careful Strider, though the shadow of Sauron over Mirkwood is gone, it is still very dark within and the river that crosses our path will make you lose your memory for a while." The elf said as they entered the foreboding forest... -------------------- |

"Tell me, olde friend, what have you been doing these past 11 years?*" Aragorn began to whisper, as he drew out his bow, and a sling of arrows at his side; one arrow at the ready.
Aragorn was marching around the trees, but staying within reach of Legolas. The two could not get seperated, or things could go, potentially, very bad. "Very bad, indeed." Thought Aragorn, more on this.... OOC: I'm making it 11 years, lol. ^_^ -------------------- |

"I have been rebuilding our city and forming alliances with the Lake Men. We have sent aid to them to help stave off the Mountain troll and Balrog warriors that have taken up residence in the Lonely Mountain. This is just like another War of the Ring, in my opinion, but at least this time we are at a stalemate, instead of being outrageously outnumbered. This is a war of attrition, my friend, that is why we need to bring back the armies from the Grey Havens. We must finish this war before all of our supplies and numbers are gone." Legolas said as the two walked alongside each other, in the dim light which was just sufficient enough to see a target...

"I agree, we need the help; especially near the front lines where my army is doing surberb against the armies of Mordor, but it won't last, Their army grows everyday, unlike ours, but luckily, we have new surprises for them." Aragorn said as he smiled with pride.

"So, we will be outnumbered eventually... We must move as quickly as we can..." Legolas said as they came the River of Lethe-the river of forgetfullness-and stopped.
Legolas didn't seem troubled, for, as an elf, he could run in the tree tops, but now he had Aragorn to consider. He searched for the boat that he knew would be there and caught its rope, pulling it to shore. "Aragorn, you can take this boat across the river, I will be waiting for you over there..." Legolas said as Aragorn climbed in. Legolas then leapt into the trees and dashed through the lowest branches, until he was over and then leapt down, to see Aragorn nearly across the river... -------------------- |

Aragorn successfully made his way across, and looked at the elf. "Are we almost there?" He asked.

"We have a way yet to go." Legolas said as spider webs stuck to them, "Hmm, these were not here before..." He said, curious to the situation.
"I wonder if Mordor's influence has infected the giant spiders here..."Legolas mused. -------------------- |

"Let us hope not. Since there are so many in-territory enemies now, it makes it harder to do anything anywhere. Whole armies possibly dissapear as they traverse the lands, trying to go help others only to be ambushed on the way. "Aragorn said, eying anything and everything, not hoping to see a giant spider.

"Well, it looks like there are..." Legolas said, notching an arrow to his bow as a swarm of the spiders came.
"We must have set off triggers by running into their webs..." The elf said, launching the arrow at the first spider, which pierced its head. -------------------- |

Aragorn too began firing some arrows before they got too close that he had to result to his sword. He hacked at their legs, wanting them to flee more than he wanted to kill them. Besides, a 4-legged spider may have more trouble eating when it can only balance on one side.
Aragorn laughed at his theory he just thought up, as he cut all four legs on one side of spider, which it retreated, awkwardly. -------------------- |

Legolas smiled at Aragorn's tactics.
"That seems to be a good idea." He said as he drew his swords and mirrored Strider's moves and together, they effectively made the spiders retreat. "I assume that they were only defending their homes... Good, so Mordor has not gained that much power yet, we still have time." Legolas said as the two traveled on... -------------------- |

"But, we must hurry. Time is something we don't have. Soon, massive armies will strike out, like they did last time." Aragorn said, remembering everything they had gone through before. "We cannot let that happen again. How much further?"

"Do not worry my friend, we are near." Legolas said with a smile after a four hours' travel, as a new river came into sight and light filtered in from the canopy above.
On the river, pretty much, was a massive castle. The castle was not 'in' the water, but built so that it straddled it and there were barges coming out of the belly of the structure. "It is from our trade with the lake men who live downriver." Legolas explained to the interested King. "Come, we are nearly there..." Legolas said as he picked up the pace and quickly approached the castle. "Halt, who goes there?" A sentry called. "It is I, Legolas Greenleaf and Aragorn, son of Arathorn, the King of Gondor." The elf called back. "Hail, Legolas Greenleaf and King Aragorn, son of Arathorn!" The sentry returned and the bridge and portcullis fell and rose, respectively. "Come Strider, let us enter." Legolas said as he led the way in... -------------------- |

"How are we sure they will help us? I remember it probably took them a long deal of debating before they sent us our aide at Helm's Deep." Aragorn pondered, looking around.
