I don't wear make up often. I used to, most every day in Grade 9, I used a little mascara, a little lipstick and a little eyeshadow. Nothing complicated. I stopped when I stopped trying to fit in and concentrated on being myself.

But every once in a while, for special occassions, I pull out a little lipstick and some concealer. I don't do anything else.

Part of it was that wearing make up is sometimes uncomfortable for me, and the other part of it is that I don't know how. Sure, I have a book on what colours go with my skin and the different colours used for different times of day (day time, more natural colours, night time, more bold colours is the general rule).

But eyebrow pencils? eyeliner? various pencils and liners and things? I don't know how to do. I try to use and end up wiping it off because it looks like a mess.

What are other people's experiences with make up?

I almost never wear makeup; when I do, it's lipstick and (sometimes) eyeshadow.

I also sometimes wear nail polish.

For all of these things, I like bold colors. Purple, blue, green or brown eyeshadow (usually two tones, one fading into the other, with the darker tone on the lateral part of my eyelid); deep, dark red or purple lipstick, and black, shiny purple, yellow, pink or bright red nail polish.

I love eyeliner on other people, but doubt that I have the fine-motor skill necessary to put it on myself.
