I participated in 24 Hour Comic Day this year, Oct 3-4th.

For 24 hours, I sat in a comic store downtown with up to 11 other artists and wrote, drew and inked a 24 page comic.

And I did it without my PSD (Personal Sanity Device, aka my ipod), without sensory crash or withdrawal. Well, withdrawal after the event.

And I completed my comic, about a planet that was healing itself from an environment disaster that caused it to become barren. However, it was written from the perspective of these space-travelers as a ghost story about one particular village.
I was originally going to expand into the whole planet-healing aspects, but realized that because of the way I had paced and the story-telling of the comic, that it would be best to keep it simple. I think it worked out better anyways.

I had first thought to write an autism awareness comic, or a slice of life comic, but decided that those would require complex scripting. The story that I did, on the other hand, was a story that I had been pondering over for a couple of weeks, to tell on Twitter, so I figured I just had to pace things and draw big!

For the record, this is first time I've done 24 hour comics at an event location, the first time I finished and the first time I've done so much background detail with pen shading.

I'll be able to scan it in and share it when I get it back in two weeks. It's been scanned and sent into the event HQ and the archives. biggrin.gif
