Feeling grumpy today because my new neighbor who is just now moving in after weeks of noisy remodeling work wants me to trim my tree so it doesn't hang over his yard. I told him he could cut back the tree as much as he wanted and I wouldn't mind but he is of the opinion that cutting back the tree is my job and I need to do it for him or foot the bill for his contractor to do it. Grrr. I suppose he is right. Something of mine is impinging on his space. I do not want to have to pay his contractor to do it so I will do it myself. I actually like yard work like this but I'm just grumpy that he doesn't like my tree and I have to cut part of it off. I guess I was lucky up until now that my old neighbors liked the tree and did not ask me to cut it back.

I hope you feel better Cathy! Wow, that isn't a very good way for your new neighbor to start off the relationship! Kinda makes you understand the phrase: "fences make good neighbors"!

I'm busy cleaning. I'm trying to declutter and donate/sell/freecycle things we no longer use. I've already sold a few things I advertised just yesterday! YAY! :boogie: I'll put the money in savings to put towards something I need later on. I swear I get high from organizing/straightening things! :haha: Cheap buzz, huh?!

I am just snowed under at work. I got new assignments and new deadlines and I am not quite sure how I will make the deadlines. I may have to put in some hours at home to get caught up.

My hike last night was very mellow and pleasant. We hiked to the top of Joseph Hill and saw kayakers on the Lexington Reservoir. In the distance was a nice patch of green grape vines. We attempted to ignore the view of highway 17 the main drag to Santa Cruz from the south bay area.

I'm taking my car to the auto body shop this morning to get the dent fixed. I'll be late to work. Its sort of a hassle as I'm a bit snowed under at work and would like to be there on time. Oh well. I'll probably stay late to make up the time.

How are other folks doing today?

I've been busy selling things I no longer use. I found some things in the attic I forgot I even had! So far everything has gone for the price I've set!! :boogie:

The neighbors are putting up a LARGE, tall privacy fence. Two mornings in a row they've started work before 7 AM. Seems rude to me. :( One more day & they will be finished.

If I'm in and out, it's due to ongoing computer problems. I'm not techno savvy so trying to fix it is proving to be a challenge! I'm growing to hate IE. I'm thinking of DL'ing Firefox to see if my issues resolve.

Any other, "So You Think You Can Dance" fans? Who is your pick? IMO this season has the most talented group ever. Mary Murphy is getting in a lot of scream time!

I like "So You Think You Can Dance :boogie: ". I'm routing for Melissa who is considered old at 29 on the show. I hope she stays in for a while. I also like Evan, the show dancer dude. But they are all great dancers IMHO. I just route for folks but I don't vote because I'm a cheap skate and don't want to pay the fee for phoning or texting :bleh:

Work is getting ridiculously busy for me  and I haven't felt as energetic about posting here and else where lately when I get home. Although right now I'm posting on my lunch hour at work.

I'm going hiking with my friend Linda after work today. I need to get outside and get some exercise after sitting around all day at work.

Melissa is amazing. I have always loved ballet. She is the epitome of grace & elegance. I also like Kaitlyn. If you vote via landline there is no fee. (888 numbers) If you only have a cellphone though, you'd use minutes to call and be charged to text.

Have fun on the hike Cathy!

I have not been in the mood lately to post as much but I'm here today. Work has been really really busy and I have had to work long hours. Blah!

Hope to watch "So You Think You Can Dance" on TV tonight. I think it starts at 8 p.m. My favorites, Melissa and Evan, are still in the running. I was surprised last week that Phillip survived while Vitolio got sent home.

Got a busy weekend coming up. Saturday I lead a hike to Nisene Marks state park to Maple Falls. Its a big old 12 mile hike and will take up much of the day. Sunday I'm leading a tiny little hike, 3 miles, before our GLS picnic that starts at 2 p.m. and goes to 5 p.m. Should be a fun weekend but probably a bit tiring. I suspect I'll want to take off Monday to recover from the weekend but I can't do that ... work is just too busy to be taking time off from it.

How did your Wednesday go?

Cathy

I got photographed yesterday for the asexual article in the San Francisco Chronical newspaper. The photographer said the article will probably be in this Sunday's issue. The link for the Chronical is http://www.sfgate.com/. I was not a happy camper being photographed. He spent about 20 minutes taking shots of me. He spent lots of time trying to get the lighting just how he wanted it. I got really tired of it. I would not make it as a model! He did show me his shots (the advantages of the digital camera age) and there are some nice ones. I am glad its all over though. Brought back memories of how much I disliked school pictures!

Another day of meetings at work. I really wish I could take a vacation right now rather than wait for November but that is the way the cookie crumbled.

Wow Cathy! A star is among us! How brave of you to be photographed! I detest it! Going to go peek at the article. Thanks for the link!

Warning yogachick ... the article is not there yet so you won't be able to find it today. The photographer said it would most likely be in this Sunday's paper.
