Does your ideal mate have to be asexual? By mate I mean someone you would be in a long term relationship with.

I think for the most part I want my future mate to be asexual and/or celibate. I just don't think I want to compromise around having sex anymore. I simply don't want to have sex in my future relationships. Now the problem with this is I don't know if I can find such a mate so I may end up compromising anyways if my desire for a relationship trumps my desire for not having sex anymore.

Good question!

Since sex for me is out of the question then I will wait for someone else like me. And if I never find them, then it wasn't meant to be.

But if I had the choice then it wouldn't matter, and I would just follow the first woman who stole my heart and who didn't give it back. An impossibility all on it's own, but that's what dreams are for.

Yes, I see my ideal partner as asexual, because while I could fake my way through sex, it would not be fair to someone who genuinely desires and enjoys it. And if a sexual person decided to become celibate because I’m asexual, I couldn’t be happy knowing that she is giving up something that otherwise would be a fundamental part of her life.
