Darla smiled toothily. "I figured," she said snidely. "Who do you like?"
Stephen fidgeted. "We've been over this," he said uncomfortably.
"Oh, come on!" Darla said exaspteratedly. "You've been telling me that you'll tell me later for, what, eight months? You're completely hung up on this girl! Just tell me, what's her name?"
"There is no girl," Stephen said stubbornly.
"Come on," Darla gloated. "I've seen that heart in your Charms textbook. Initials R.O.? Who is that? I know there's somebody."
Stephen was silent.
"You said truth," Darla prodded.
Stephen sighed. "Okay," he conceded. "Rudolph Ollerton."
"Oh," said Darla, and then her eyes widened. "Oh."

"So do you have your eye on anyone?" Darla asked sweetly as she and Laura walked to the Great Hall.
Laura blushed. "Yes," she admitted. "But you'll think it's silly."
Darla let out a tinkling laugh. "Sweetie, trust me, it can't be any stranger than who your brother is currently obsessed with," she giggled. "Now come on. Spill it."
The Hufflepuff fidgeted, embarrassed. "You'll make fun of me," she insisted.
Darla shook her head vehemently. "I won't!" she promised. "Just let it out."
Laura leaned a little closer. "Rudolph Ollerton," she hissed.

Darla was never one to pass up a bit of fun. Strolling on the lawns, she caught the eye of a certain Rudolph Ollerton, fondling a boyfriend on the front lawn.
A shadow crossed Rudolph's face, and he looked up, irritated. "You're stealing my sunlight," he said shortly.
"Rudy," she said sharply, motioning for him to get up and follow her. "I've got a favor to ask you."

here's the story
. stephen and laura ackerley, unbeknownst to each other, are deeply in like with the same man.
. rudolph ollerton, the notorious playboy of both sexes, will do anything on legs. literally. male, female, werewolf, vampire, he doesn't care. he's a hedonist in every sense of the word.
. darla peakes is just a little bit psycho, and takes immense pleasure in other's pain. so, after discovering that the twins were both lusting over rudy, had a little chat with him to stir things up.
. under a death threat from darla, rudy is instructed to toy with the emotions of both stephen and laura. he is to become involved with both.
. stephen's gay but he hasn't come out yet, and he's deathly afraid of what'll happen if people, especially laura, find out.
. laura doesn't believe in love. at least, that's what she tells everyone. she's a cynic with a candy coating. so how is she supposed to tell people that she's in a relationship if she's spent her life convincing her friends to stay out of them?
. stephen and laura both think they've found something genuine. normally they tell each other everything, but now they're hesitating. how long will they hold off on telling each other that they're seeing rudolph ollerton?
DARLA loves to pull all the strings.
RUDOLPH is petrified of Darla, so he's involved with both Laura and Stephen at her command.
STEPHEN is gay, but he doesn't want to let anyone know that he's romantically intimate with Rudy Ollerton.
LAURA spends all her time being a feminist and advising people to get out of relationships, but now she's in one that she's really enjoying.
