"It all comes down to trust. And I can't trust you anymore."

Andrea Roscoe. During her school years, while she was highly intelligent and received top marks, she had been quite the party girl, the stereotypical Slytherin that didn't want to commit to anything serious and long-term. She would much rather be single and bounce around from time to time than devote to a sole person. Most people thought she wouldn't make it in the world as anything other than a bed hopper. Needless to say, everyone that knew her well enough was shocked to find out that she had chosen a path no one would have thought her to travel. Andrea was offered a teaching position at Hogwarts. And it was no fluke; the party-going teenager had developed into a mature young woman who was ready to take her new position as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor head on.

Andrea had known DBOREANAZ during her years as a student, but up until her sixth year, the two had seldom spoke. She was a Slytherin, and he was on the complete opposite side of the spectrum, a Gryffindor. One day of being partners in Potions class blossomed into a friendship. He seemed to bring Andrea back down to Earth, which caused her to be much more mellow come her last year in Hogwarts. Eventually such a friendship developed into a relationship, and it seemed that fate was on their side when he, too, was offered a teaching position at Hogwarts. It wasn't too long before he proposed, and she elatedly agreed to the marriage. What he was unaware of, though, was the fact that she just so happened to be carrying his child.

School resumed and Andrea still had not told her fiance about the child. She wanted to break the news to him in the right way, and it was awfully hard to ever find the time when both of them were so preoccupied with their jobs. At least if she was the only person who knew that she was pregnant, things would be okay. Sure, she was in a time crunch, seeing as it wouldn't be too long before she started to show, but she knew she would be able to figure out how to tell him. After thinking things through, though, she decided it would be best to inform McGonagall, seeing as she would eventually have to take a maternity leave. Unfortunately what Andrea did not know was that someone else knew of her little secret.

JDUHAMEL had been at Hogwarts the same time as Andrea and DBOREANAZ, merely one year above them in age. He had even been in the Room of Requirement with Andrea before, back when she still liked to mess around. After that night, he made it his goal to be with her, even though she didn't appear to want to devote herself to any one guy. He tried making sly come-ons, but she didn't seem to catch them. His antics became more and more obvious, and he was sure that even her friends had picked up on how he wanted to have another night with her. Hell, they even told her that he was dropping hints like crazy. But she ignored him. It was then his tactic changed; he'd simply sit around and watch, waiting for the right moment. If he hung around in the shadows, maybe she'd come around. Weeks to months, months to years, and Andrea never came back to him. He heard the rumor that she had found an interest in DBOREANAZ, but he hoped and prayed that such a relationship wouldn't last.

By the time she returned to Hogwarts as a staff member, she had pretty much forgotten about the fling they had shared. It even seemed like she wanted to erase him from her life altogether. She was far to infatuated with DBOREANAZ to even give JDUHAMEL the time of day. And finally the news broke of their engagement. He had missed his chance. Slowly the attempts at talking to her became less in number, and he seemed to disappear from her radar completely. That is, until he noticed something very peculiar. Her clothes had become much more loose-fitting. But it wasn't like she was losing weight; it was like she was buying clothes that fit more baggy. And her professor's robes were a bit more snug, which confirmed his suspicion of the change in size. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that her lack of appetite in general and sudden cravings during the late hours of the night meant she was pregnant. The door was open for him again.

He knew she hadn't told her fiance yet. He could see it in the nervous way she looked whenever he went to embrace her, or the lack of discussion about the child inside her. Was it somebody else's child? That really seemed irrelevant to him. Since DBOREANAZ didn't know, he could wreck the engagement, as well as her reputation. And then, when she wouldn't have anyone else to turn to, he'd be there, welcoming her with open arms. Truth be told, it didn't take much. The rumor that Andrea was carrying his child, not DBOREANAZ's, was drifting through the halls within a few days. Even some of the students had caught wind of it and were spreading it. Of course it didn't take long before the rumor got to DBOREANAZ himself, and oh was he furious.

"I can't believe this! I thought you had changed. I thought those days were over."

"I have changed! You don't understand. It's not true! This...is your child."

"You expect me to believe that? It all comes down to trust. And I can't trust you any more."
