TO MAKE SURE THESE RULES DO NOT COME OFF AS POMPOUS OR LONG WINDED
THEY HAVE BEEN SIMPLIFIED TO THEIR BASIC STANDINGS - READ OVER CAREFULLY
.GENERAL RULES001. Be nice to one another. Don't spam. Stay as active as possible. Read over important topics. Basic 101 crap that is always stated and everyone should know by now.
002. Sign up with First and Last name of the canon or original character you wish to be. Keep realistic to character and include hefty detail in profile.
003. All first characters must attend Hogwarts. Whether they are student or professor or whatever - your first character has to be at that School. Considering that is the only school open at the moment you don't have much choice. This rule is subject to change at some point in the near future.
004. Players are allowed 5 characters. 20 posts before applying for a second. 30 posts for both accounts before applying for a third. 40 posts for all accounts before applying for a fourth. 50 posts for all accounts before applying as your last character.
005. Graphics must look nice, crappy photo quality is not allowed. Signatures may contain text but no images as of yet - unless they are those spiffy animated .gifs that we all know and love.
.ROLE-PLAYING RULES001. The board is currently not rated, but don't make me regret this decision. If your character has anything that goes a bit risky - please fade to black or something tasteful like that. We don't support smut here.
002. Your quality of your post should match your profile, meaning there should be great detail within each post you submit. Readers should not have to guess what time of day it is (if you start the thread) or anything of that accord - as the writer it is your job to paint the scenery around you. I don't know about you but I hate crappy imagery, so pull our a thesaurus if you get stuck.
003. Posting in jazzy spizzy awesome colors are not allowed, not even for spoken text. You can however bold said text or italicize it for thought. Last thing we need is neon colors blinding people.
004. Stay in character. Can't stress this enough - last thing we need is people posting Snape in a tutu. It simply is Ridikulus.
005. Classroom lesson threads are mandatory, just like important event threads relating to your character. If you don't know what this means, it's simple, you have to post in these threads. Not doing so without reason will result in lost house points or some nonsense.
006. Be sure to check The Official Providence Shop before posting as your character, as some things within the magical world have to be earned before your character can acquire them. This includes mastery of certain spells and items.
