Member List clean up!!!

Hey guys long time no see.

Well I've been hoping on here everyone once in a good while and it seems plenty of people have signed up and never actually posted much of anything. And it starting to get a bit crowded with the amount of user...not well using.


So as long as I don't get my hands smacked while they are in the proverbial 'cookie jar' that is the Admin CP I'm gonna start deleting people if you haven't posted anything in a month. I think that is more than reasonable.

Edit: 3 months will be allowed for a period of no Forum use before your account will be terminated.

If you need to leave for anextended period of time send a PM to an Admin and let them no. Or start a goodbye thread. Hell, better yet do both.

You have 2 weeks to either be active or make contact as to the contrary. Or your account meets the chopping block. Posting is preferred, my inbox is only so big.

this is a list of people who I have seen at the field lately and I feel should be kept online for at least the idea of their current presence at the field. those with question marks I am unsure of, as I have not seen them in a while

there are also a few newer people who I do not know. they may or may not be on your list.

*these are kent fielders, who should be kept online even if they don't get on much so that possible communications stay open.

so you are saying that once a month we need to post something or get deleted. I know I have had a few times where a couple of months have gone by without me posting anything. And what if I don't have anything to say? Often I just log on and read without ever saying anything. I think this is going to lead to a bunch of people posting with a "Hi" and that is it. Is there way to keep track of when people log in and use that as a control instead? I think that would be better than a time limit. Either that or extend the time limit, maybe to 6 months instead? If they are not posting then they are really not taking up that much space. Much less than a whole lot of short "here I am posts".

I was checking for last activity...Ie. when was the last time you even logged in.

Six months seems a bit much. Some of these people have been on for ridiculous amounts of time and no posts. 1 full month. Really? too short? I mean that is 4 sessions of field play. I could see 2-3 and I did toss around the idea of it being longer. But half a year seems a bit too generous for the reason this was first initiated.

I'm not saying you can't make a new account. I'm not banning anyone. This will just ensure a greater idea of who is a real person. And who is lurking spam bot.

And as far as the 'Hey I'm leaving', There can actually be an entire sub-forum for this. Even though I highly doubt it will get used that much. There aren't so many players coming and going that actually use this site to warrant any real threat of being swarmed with posts.

I really do encourage input here folks. I'm not a 'my way or highway' kind of guy but, I do require a bit of banter to sway my head.

Butcher- Thanks for that updated list. If you could tell them to hop on a bit more. I'd appreciate it.

if 6 is to much than make it 3. really, to me anyway, this is no big deal. the reason behind me saying more than 1 month is that Thanatos is exactly right. although it may not always apply to me, some people go for an entire month, or more, without posting anything because sometimes there is nothing to post or nothing worth posting about. now i have sat here and almost done the same thing before because sometimes it's just useless *poop* that i don't want a part of or have nothing to add too. but when i have something worth saying then i will say it and if it takes that long before i can say it, then i'll gladly wait that long. and if i have to create a new account every time, well that's just gonna piss me off. bottom line this isn't exactly a must. besides it's kinda nice knowing we have as many people her as we do.

I am agreeable to 3 months as well. I just through out the 6 as a figure to consider. And if I misunderstood the initial post, I appologize. I read it to say if you have not posted in a month, meaning actually say something on a topic. If just signing on counts, then that is what I was asking as an alternative and we can just carry on enjoying the benefits of Bishops (and the other moderators) hard work.

well, i say 2-3 months is reasonable length of time, if you dont even log on in that time frame I would say that you are either not interested enough to care or you can just take 2 minutes to create a new account.

3 months looks fairly agreed upon. I have modified the original post to match. If anyone else wants their name taken off just post up. It'll be here for a while.

Oh and as far as the shmoo guy goes. If you see him can you see which one he wants to keep. No sense in having two.
