[Shiray]

Shiray, watched as Sariel got closer. She was a spontaneous little thing. Tail tilted his head in response and jumped when she suddenly said 'hi'. "Hello." he said, drawing out the word in insecurity. Then he looked to Nightspirit and tilted his head the other way. It seemed that the disappointed look got to tail. At first, he reached out his paw and then quickly took it back with a frown. He finally understood he was faking disappointment. Tail then looked back at Sariel. "Sariel... friend?" asked the raccoon. Shiray was surprised, Tail wanted to be friends with Sariel. "What about Ecanus and Nightspirit?" She asked Tail. "Ecanus friend, sure, sure!" replied Tail, and then looked back at Nightspirit. "Shiray friend 'wit Nightspirit?" asked the raccoon obviously surprised. "Of course!" Shiray told him. "Fine, Tail friend 'wit Nightspirit." Having their little conversation over, Tail slugged back down on her neck and waited for anyone else to speak.

When Nightspirit asked where they wanted to go, Shiray was at a loss. That is, when mentioning flying, she nodded and only smiled as Tri doubted Tail's ability to fly. Tail only looked at the bird. "I fly.... 'wanna see?" asked Tail, directing it to Tri. You see, being with Shiray and around her neck all the time allowed her to build up her strength so Tail could ride along with her. She was actually glade Tail never left her neck when she was flying. Learning to handle the extra weight was indeed a good thing.

“Let’s see what those pretty wings of yours can do in the sky.” At this, Shiray's ears pricked, attention only on Nightspirit. She smiled and then laughed. "You'd be surprised." she said with a devious expression showing in her eyes. Tail noticed this and he too smiled, clinging on to her neck as she went to follow Nightspirit. She then looked back to Ecanus and smiled. "If you can't carry Sariel, I will. Tail has kind of trained me to take extra weight." she offered. She then remembered about those claws. "That is, as long as Sariel agrees and promises she won't hurt the flyer or her guide." She added, remembering Tail would be on her back as well. "I fly Tri, you see!" cried Tail, eager for Shiray and them to go flying.

Hearing the raccoon’s response, Sariel giggled loudly as her tail flicked wildly from side to side. She raised her paw slightly, waving up at him. Ecanus couldn’t help but laugh softly. In one second Sariel was a kitten, the next she would have an IQ higher than Ecanus’s. The kitten’s emerald orbs blinked a few times, hearing Tail’s question, before nodding quickly. ”Yeah!” She then glanced at Ecanus, looking at her for approval. The young female nodded her head slightly before her attention returned to the two wolves. Sariel then met Tail’s, giving him a quick nod. ”Mmmhm..”

Ecanus tilted her head towards the darkened skies as she listened to Nightspirit’s flirtatious comments. The wolf had not flown in quite some time, she wondered if she would be able to keep up with the others. “Mewr…” she grumbled softly, a grim look forming on her muzzle. “Alright ladies where do you want to go?” Ecanus left ear perked up, tilting it towards him. She laughed softly, shrugging her shoulders. “As long as it’s not dangerous, wherever y’all want to go.” She then tilted her head towards Shiray, blinking a few times. She shook her head lightly. “No, thank you. I can carry the beast myself,” she said with a smile.

Hearing Tails answer Tri smirked at him, “I’m sure I’ll see you fall to the ground.” he mumbled underneath his breath. Nightspirit was surprised to see that the ladies had decided to go a flight with him and smiled at them both. “Alright then, lets find a place where we can take off shall we?” He turned around and began walking ahead in a quick pace. He slanted his head back to Tri to see if he was still there, “Tri scout ahead to see if theres a spot we can take off at.” Nodding, Tri stood up and took off flying ahead as Nightspirit had ordered. Seeing that Tri was gone for a while, with his sarcasm and wit, now would be a better time to get to know the two wolves.

As they walked the cool breeze blew in the night sky, “I think you two will enjoy a nice midnight flight, its very relaxing. Maybe Ring here can prove Tri wrong and shut em up.” He slowed down so that he could walk next Shiray just in case Tail planned to do any other taunting things do him, besides the raccoon was pretty funny, even though he wouldn’t admit it. He glanced side to side looking at both of the faes beside him. He had to admit this was a rare occasion to be around not one but two female Nightwinds, he was actually a little nervous. Soon the forest seemed to get a little narrower, causing them to walk closer. While walking Nightspirit kept glancing back and forth trying to think of something to say, while pondering, his long bushy tail accidentally brushed against Shiray. “Oops, sorry!” he said nervously and he began to walk more towards Ecanus causing his wings to brush against hers, “Heh, sorry as well.” He quickly lowered his head in embarrassment and his tail started wagging much slower but once again his tail bumped into Shiray. “Okay maybe I’m a little… nervous.” He smiled at her but then lowered his head again. His earrings once again turned a blue color.

Within a few moments Tri was on his way back, instantly Nightspirit’s head and his ears could hear the flaps of the raven’s wings. He landed on his masters back looking suspiciously at the two other guides. “Just ahead is an opening for you to take off sire. I don’t know about your friend and the squirrel sire, he may be too heavy for her,” he said leaning over to Ringtail, “and there may not be enough space for our clumsy one here.” he said pointing at Ecanus. “Tri, I’m about to pounce on you very shortly.” It was something Nightspirit did to get the raven to shut up. By simply pushing Tri with his paws every time he landed Tri would get really upset. “I apologize, ladies.” Tri said giving a fake bow, soon he took off again to the area ahead. “You two are lucky to have such friendly guides, well, maybe Ecanus…” Nightspirit said smirking at Ringtail. Soon they would be at there destination and able to fly.

Tail only nodded to Sariel and Ecanus and then slumped on Shiray's neck as they padded along. She watched as Nightspirit sent off Tri to go scout ahead. Tail mumbles something and her ears moved back to catch what he was saying. Although, she wasn't able to hear anything the raccoon mumbled. Focusing back again to the others and not Tail, she noticed that Nightspirit had moved closer to her. Shiray couldn't see Tail exactly, but she growled when Tail decided to quickly reach out to Nightspirit. Caught by Shiray, Tail lowered his hand back down and sulked even further into Shiray's neck.

As they continued to pad along the area, Shiray noticed that the path got narrow. She took her wings and kept them as close as possible to her. However, it did not stop the tail that brushed against her, making the hair on her neck rise a tiny bit. Even though Tail didn't notice, she nodded her head toward Nightspirit, accepted his apology. Actually, she was sure she didn't mind that little incident, but something else did mind it. Rather or not if it was a good or a bad 'minding'- she wasn't sure. Then she noticed his wing brush against Ecanus. He seemed to be having a hard time relaxing.

He wasn't the only one having a hard time relaxing. Once his tail brushed up against Shiray again, her fur raised a bit, this time Tail noticed and frowned at the male wolf. He wouldn't admit it, but he was jealous that Shiray was paying attention to Nightshade instead of himself. Jealously took the better of Tail as he batted and held on tight to Shiray's ear, making her growl at him to stop. Tail just lost all hope and flopped down on her neck, his head rested between her ears.

"I don’t know about your friend and the squirrel sire, he may be too heavy for her.” When that reached her ears when Tri came back, she lowered her head and made a short whine. Letting out a frustrated growl, she looked back up at Tri. Her growling had stopped as she looked at Nightspirit and then back to Tri, narrowing her gaze, scrutinizing the bird. "No, the sad thing is for once, I think he's right." she started off, a little disappointed that she embarrassed herself when asking to take Sariel too.

Yes, she was embarrassed, but she thought she could also maybe cover it up with saying something else as well. "Tail has gotten bigger since the last time I took flight with him on my back and he's bigger I think than any of the guides here." She mused to no one in particular. "I don't want to risk anything. I think I'll just have to train more when I have the time. Besides, I know he has been teasing you Nightspirit, he doesn't deserve it anyway." she told him, more musing to herself and letting Tail know that she has had her suspicions up of him teasing Nightspirit.

When Tri apologized, she nodded and kept her head lower than before, still worried about where she should let Tail get off before they flew. Nightsprit's words caught in her ears and Tail's as well. Tail though, -to upset from before when he noticed Shiray react to Nightspirit- only glanced over at the male and then returned to looking straight ahead. Shiray, -knowing Tail would retort back- let an ear move back to listen out for Tail when his paw brushed her ear and played with the tip of it, amused for now. "I think we're almost there." Shiray said, trying to break some of the silence that occurred.

While walking with the two faes Nightspirit noticed Shiray quiet whine after Tri commented on whether she could fly with Tail or not. After hearing her out he decided that maybe he could be of some help, maybe this would be his time to shine.
“Well I don’t blame ya Ringtail does look like he’s put on a few pounds.” the brute said jokingly, trying to cheer Shiray up. “Well Tri can fly own his own so maybe I can carry Ring? I’ve carried a small wolf before so I’m sure I can handle his weight. I’m a pretty strong wolf.” He said braggingly extending his wings to further emphasize his point. After realizing he was being a little too cocky he closed his wings, one again brushing against the two faes. Nightspirit lowered his head again in embarrassment, “I guess I’ll wait till we get to a bigger area before I embarrass myself again.”

Finally after a nice walk the wolves had arrived at an open spot. From here the sky was open to them all; Tri could be seen flying in a circle above the Nightwinds. Looking around Nightspirit agreed that this was a good spot. He took a long stretch and prepared himself to take off. He loved flying and he did it quite often, it was the one thing he could do to truly relax and keep himself calm. In the sky he could think freely and feel free, not bound to the earth being constantly manipulated by Tri.

Now in a more open area, Nightspirit approached Shiray again who seemed to be looking for a spot to put Ringtail. “I promise I’ll take good care of Ring if you let him fly with me besides, it would give us males a time to talk amongst ourselves.” Nightspirit spread his long black wings, usually when he did this it looked rather intimidating but the rings on his ear began to glow white, giving his a more calm and peaceful look. “I’m sure he’ll be able to hang on, I’ll fly nice and slow for em. You would trust me right Ecanus?” he turned and looked at the Nightwind who was contently watching the two speak. Completely caught off guard by the question, she smiled a half-smiled and nodded. “See! You have nothing to worry about. You can trust me beautiful.” He said smiling at Shiray, gazing into her light brown eyes.

They continued walking of course, but something that Nightspirit said caught in her ears. “Well Tri can fly own his own so maybe I can carry Ring? I’ve carried a small wolf before so I’m sure I can handle his weight. I’m a pretty strong wolf.” Shiray had to contain a small laugh that started to form. He was being a bit cocky and trying to show off, so why not let him have his fun? Still, Shiray was still a little unsure about it. When he spread is wings again, this time she let out a small laugh and then felt his wings brush against her. At his comment, she nodded as if to say 'yeah, that's a good idea'.

Once they arrived, she did nose around a bit. She still tried to find a good place to put Tail when Nightspirit refreshed his offer. At the 'us males' part, Tail's fur began to stand out. Shiray noticed his tension on her neck and growled at Tail to behave. Tail's fur flattened a little since he calmed down. Seeing Ecanus nod to Nightspirit, she tilted her head a little to the side, still a bit unsure. However, she nodding and turned her neck to take a peek at Tail. "Go on." she said gently, giving him approval.

Tail climbed down Shiray and moved closer to her front. He didn't know if he should get on or not. Instead, he just waited for Nightspirit to give him the 'ok' to allow Shiray to place him on his back. Meanwhile, Shiray was a bit... stunned when Nightspirit flirted with her. Shiray looked down, not being able to withstand his gaze. Why did this brute have to be so charming? Then it dawned on her about why Tail was so tense when he talked to her. Tail wasn't use to other males around; he's been around Shiray ever since he was so young and too young to remember his parents. They abandoned him and she pretty much took him in. Looking back into Nightspirit's gaze, she tilted her head and moved her ears forward, waiting for him to allow her to put Tail on his back.

((OOC: Sorry it took me so long, I was outta town but now Im back!))

Nightspirit was happy to see that Shiray actually trusted him with her guide. Although he was a little nervous thinking about having Ringtail on him, he didn’t show it. He glanced at the raccoon trying to figure out how it would work with him on his back but figured the Ringtail probably knows how to hold on. He slowly walked up to Shiray and stood next to her allowing Ringtail to climb to him. He glanced at Shiray while standing next to her and smiled.

“Thanks for trusting me Shiray,” he whispered to her, “not many other wolves do. I promise I’ll be careful with Ringtail.” He smiled at her, “Shiray can I ask you a question? When I called you beautiful and you looked away, was it because you already have a mate? I mean… I’m sure you do… and I’m sorry for interfering with that.” He turned his head away from her a little, “But you really are a beautiful wolf, I’m sure he’s quite happy with you.” Slowly he began to look back at her, and smirked.

Soon Tri flew back down, irritated that the wolves were taking so long. “Sire you do plan to fly anytime today?” Soon he noticed that Nightspirit was standing close to one of the female Nightwinds, it looked as if he was giving the raccoon a ride. “You can’t be serious sire, that raccoon is more trouble than anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if he pulled those rings off you ear…” Suddenly Tri became quiet, if Ringtail did remove the ring off of his ear, then Nightspirit would no longer be able to block his manipulation. Luckily for Tri, Nightspirit didn’t hear a word he said, he appeared to be focusing on Shiray instead of him. “Never mind.” The raven said and took off again.

Nightspirit looked and saw Tri flying off but quickly turned back around to Shiray, “Well Ring, hop aboard. I’ll be sure to fly nice and slow for ya.”

Shiray was just about ready to pick Tail up with her jaws to place him on Nightspirit's back and make it easier on him when his question reached her ears. She paused and tensed for a moment, a little stunned that he'd be asking her something like that. For a moment, she stayed still until she picked up Tail the best she could and walked toward Nightspirit with Tail dangling from her mouth like a pup, but of course Tail was much bigger. She had to leap up a little so she could place Tail on his back. Once Tail had landed and sat himself down, holding on to Nightspirit's fur, he waited until the rest where done talking.

Once Shiray saw that Tail was ready, she backed up and looked at Nightspirit. She had avoided giving him an answer until this far. What was wrong with her anyway? Normally she would growl and tell the other to back off. Maybe it was because that Ecanus was still here and she didn't want to get off on the wrong paw with her. She tilted her head, trying to figure something out to say and brought her focus back on the male. "No, I don't." she said simply, keeping her voice soft. She took in to her consideration about his other complement and nodded her head, whispering a short "thanks" to him before backing away and shifted her wings a little.

Tri decided to come back down it seems and started talking, but then stopped. Curious, she glanced over at Tri with an inclination of her head for him to continue as well as moving her gaze back to Nightspirit to see if he heard or if he would explain. With no sign of an answer yet, her suspicion was raised about those earring that Nightspirit had, they did turn a certain color sometimes, but she barely noticed. Eventually though, she'd corner him and get him to explain. It sounds harsh, but she wouldn't ask him by actually 'cornering' him, she'd get him to speak. It wasn't harsh at all. Nodding to everybody, she tried to let them know that she would take off last. That is, she's make sure Tail would be alright.

Nightspirit lowered himself slightly so that Shiray could put Ringtail on him. He tensed up a little once the raccoon was on top of him and grabbed his fur. He wasn’t use to anything grabbing at his fur; usually Tri landed on him and simply hopped around or sat down. Nevertheless he slowly calmed down once Ringtail got situated and settled down. Now that Ringtail on him, he stretched and opened his wings a little to get ready to fly.

Still in his mind Nightspirit’s he was thinking about Shiray’s reaction. She seemed to brush his comments away and didn’t really give him an answer. He lowered his head slightly hurt by that, it was very rare that Nightspirit put himself out like that and since he saw she didn’t care, he made a note not to do it again. He glanced at Shiray once more then turned to walk towards Ecanus who remained relatively quiet throughout the entire trip.

“Alright Ecanus, I’ll fly behind you. Try not to go too fast.” he said jokingly. He turned to make sure Shiray was ready and then spread his wings. “I’ll try to go easy Ring.” he said looking over his should at the raccoon. Soon he lowered himself to the ground and looked into the night sky, he shook his tail twice and took one giant leap off the ground and spread his wings. He was flying. He flapped his wings and gained some altitude, soon he began soaring in the sky. “You two coming or what?” he yelled back to them on the ground. Soon Ecanus took off with her guide with her. Soon Tri returned in the distance and could sense Nightspirit’s sad mood.

Tri flew next to Nightspirit with a smirk on his face, “No luck with the faes sire? I told you we should’ve forgotten about them. They don’t want your company and as you can see, they don’t care about your feelings either sire.” Nightspirit didn’t respond to Tri’s statement instead he continued to look ahead. Smiling, Tri flew back toward Ringtail on Nightspirit’s back. The raven flew close and grabbed onto his masters fur so he wouldn’t be blown off. He stared at the raccoon with very plotting eyes.

“Ringtail is it? How does it feel to be flying, good I hope. You need to do something for the both of us, squirrel. You see those rings on Night’s ear? I need you to pull them off. I’m sure you asking why, right? It’s simple. You have seen our masters getting close and when they get close they forget we are here. I’m sure you’ve notice your master starting to like Nightspirit and already she has tried to ditch you on the ground and fly away with him. Imagine what would happen if they got really close… she’d probably abandon you. Nightspirit is not a nice wolf, my friend, which is why I can’t remove the ring. Since you are on his back and he can’t reach you! This is a perfect chance to get rid of him and if you don’t who knows, he may attack Shiray one day and it would be your fault.” Tri smiled at Ringtail. “Just grab the middle ring of the three and it will change into one giant ring and after you pull it off, throw it to the ground. Do that and you’ll have Shiray all to yourself again.” The black raven then took off and flew towards the ground.

Nightspirit hadn’t heard any of the talk, his mind was on what happened on the ground and keeping Ringtail safe in the air. After Tri flew off he turned to make sure Ring was okay, which he seemed to be. Soon he turned back around and kept flying, wings flapping smoothly as he glided in the air. As his ears moved around, his earrings gave off a faint white glow, as if to tempt Ringtail further.

After the others took off, she soon joined them in the sky. She took notice of how fast she seemed to be going with the absence of Tail's weight. Her wings where stronger since they have been used to the weight of Tail, but she still wanted to practice still with Tail again. Having him around while flying would come in handy. Taking this to her advantage, she speed up, using her ability to edge the current to help her. Soon she was beside Nightspirit, but far enough to avoid his wings. She was only this close to check on Tail to make sure he was ok. Seeing that he was, she leaned to the right, pulling away and flying to Nightspirit's right while Ecanus was on his left.

Tail though, once Shiray moved further away, was greeted by Tri. He nodded when he agreed he liked flying. However, what Tri pointed out about Shiray and Nightspirit was getting to him. He listened to Tri, interested in what he was saying. When the 'she’d probably abandon you' got into his head, Tail was more than egger to listen to Nightspirit even more. Then the whole 'he may attack Shiray one day and it would be your fault' sentence ran through his head, making Tail shift to get better access to Nightspirit's earrings. Reaching out, he grabbed the middle ring as the other two melded into one. Taking it, he took it off and let it drop to the ground. What was going to happen now, he didn't know. Tail then looked to Tri, nodding that he'd taken off the earrings.

Shiray kept glancing over to Nightspirit and Tail, making sure that they were all right since Tail was a little heavy. She noticed at one point that Tri was talking to Tail, rather or not Nightspirit could hear them, she didn't know. However, when Tri landed on Nightspirit -even though birds where rather light- she aided him by changing the direction of the current to aide him better than before. She turned back around to watch where she was going, but was content that Tail would be alright, so she didn't look back to see what Tail was doing when Tri left. With a great push downward with her wings, she allowed herself to rise higher, but shifted to form half a 'v' so she was now behind Nightspirit.

There was no better feeling in the world than flying in the sky. Nightspirit was having a good time, he turned and looked at both Ecanus and Shiray and they also seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. Flying with a slight breeze made the trip even more relaxing, the only thing that made Nightspirit nervous was Shiray’s constant glances towards him. He knew that she was just checking on Ringtail but still, being watched never made him feel good. Nonetheless he tried to take his mind off of it and he closed his eyes, after all, it’s not like he could hit something.

Tri was in the air as well, flying above Nightspirit and looking at Ringtail to make sure he would go through with his scheme. Once he saw the raccoon reaching for he rings he smiled. “Now its time to have a little fun…” he said with a devious tone. Second later Ringtail snatched the earring off of Nightspirit’s ear. Immediately Nightspirit noticed something was wrong. Almost as if his energy had been sapped away, he began flapping his wings madly and almost collided with Shiray behind him. Fortunately he regained control and managed to dive slightly before they hit each other. “Tail, what did you do?!” he said in an angry tone. Nightspirit began to look wildly at the ground to see if he could locate his earring. Faintly he saw a small white glow moments before it disappeared into the tress. “There it is! I suggest you hold on Tail.” Nightspirit began to dive towards where he saw his ring disappear. He held his wings close to make his dissent to the ground faster. As he drew close he noticed Tail’s grip loosing on his fur, even though he was furious with Ringtail, he didn’t want him to fly off. He opened his wings again and like a parachute, he slowed down and headed towards the ground.

Within a few seconds Nightspirit landed on the ground, immediately he began shaking to toss Ringtail off of him. Once the raccoon was off, he opened his wings and walked towards Ringtail, showing his fangs. In his current state it almost looked like an entirely different wolf, his body was tense and his ears lay back on his head, very faintly did his eyes change red. “Do you know what you’ve done? I need those earrings Ringtail and you better help me find them!” Nightspirit said angrily, letting out a growl. His ears kicked up once he heard the flapping of wings but he didn’t bother to see who it was, he simply walked away from Ringtail with his nose in the ground to find his earrings and it wasn’t going to be easy. The entire area around them was filled with small thickets, more than large enough to hide his earrings.

Seeing his plan working toward perfection Tri landed next to Ringtail, who was probably a little shook up by now. “See, I told you he wasn’t a nice wolf… but that’s because you changed him.” Tri laughed a little when he thought about it. “You such a gullible little squirrel, your jealous did the work for me. Well I guess there no need for you anymore, so get lost.” Tri hopped at Ringtail and began pecking at him to try to get the raccoon to run off.

The flying was nice, but something changed and Shiray noticed it immediately as Nightspirit faltered in his flying. Something was wrong. She noticed something caught in the light and then glanced to see Nightspirit with Tail on his back diving toward the ground. She glanced toward Ecanus and then adjusted her wings, making her decent not so much as a dive like Nightspirit had done. What she saw was not very likeable. She saw Nightspirit trying to shake him off and then watched, stricken with shock as he snapped at Tail, watching his eyes changed color.

Tail was trembling from the dive as well as Nightspirit's behavior. He was about to scatter to help find the earrings when Tail landed beside him. Tail jumped back with a squeak that sent him trembling even more. Seriously, what had he done? As Tri spoke, Tail grew angrier by the second, just enough so his trembling slowed. However, he squeaked again as Tri began to peck at him. That was a dangerous beak to mess with. Tail looked quickly to catch a glimpse of Nightspirit and Shiray on the ground. Nightspirit was looking for his earrings while Shiray was watching with a slight shocked expression that soon lead her gaze to land on Tail.

Shiray, though it was better to at least watch the scene unfold to understand better. Despite her want to charge at Nightspirit for making Tail tremble, she figured whatever he had done was the wrong thing to do and deserved it. Call it harsh, but she needed this information. She watched as Nightspirit searched around and then flicked her gaze back to Tail who was trembling from what Tri had to say. All too soon her gaze flickered back to Nightspirit, padding over toward him with a whine if asking what was wrong. His time to respond was cut short though when a yelp was given out by Tail.

Immediately Shiray's ears and head snapped up, charging over to Tail who was trying to get as small as possible on the ground. She didn't see any blood, but she knew that Tail was hurt. As she saw Tri take another peck at Tail, she barked and growled at the bird. As she went toward Tail, she stood in front of him as she snarled at Tri, her lips pulled back into a nasty snarl. "You foul, bloody, little pigeon!" she growled at him in a yell. She of course, went back to insulting him by calling him a pigeon. To however Nightspirit responded or try for that matter, she wasn't sure. She kept her ears alert, but her eyes started toward Tri, her leadership position taking its toll as he tail raised and almost curled upon her back.

She usually would not have raised her tail, but it was a wolf trait and one again where her leadership came in. Even though Tail was not a wolf, he was still apart of her pack. No one in her pack under her protection would be hurt. Especially if they were her guide and other close friends. Loyalty to protect and guide them as they followed her drove through the pulsing veins that carried the blood throughout her body. Her muscles where tense as her hackles rose, with her canines glistening freely under her pulled back lips. She might be over reacting, but to her, she wasn't. She was merely taking on her role of protecting the younger ones and members of her pack.

Tail, to her, was still a pup and all pups in the pack were protected. Sure again and again she told herself that Tail was not a wolf pup, but she couldn't help but feel the pull to protect those who couldn't defend. Tri had a beak, Tail had nothing. He was faster than Tri, but Tri could fly and Tail was stuck to the ground. Her senses though, doubled and her ears loosened up in their backwards position to listen closer. Ever so slightly her growling stopped as her fur began to settle again. Her tail though, only lowered slightly as Tri backed off.

Getting the chance she got, she glanced back at Tail, noticing he was slightly trembling. Had she scared him more than Tri trying to peck his eyes out? No, that couldn't be it. Shiray's ears went up as she walked toward Tail. She lifted it out her muzzle and Tail brought his paw up to touch her nose. A small rush of relief rushed through her since Tail was not scared of her. She nudged his furry little body until he stood and walked forward to where she was previously standing. Shiray, a little confused, went back to where Tail was, still weary of Tri and Nightspirit.

Nightspirit continued his search in what seemed to be an endless sea of bushy thickets. His head was low towards the ground trying to catch the faint glow of the ring but his search ended in failure. Slowly he could feel the madness take hold of him again, his head dropped from pain as it seemed a massive headache began. Nightspirit knew that if he didn’t find his ring soon he would become a mindless an angry wolf like all the brutes in his family. His eyes opened slightly as the pain seemed to subside for now.

Nightspirit’s ears rose as he heard Shiray’s whine, he straightened up a little and turned to look at her but before he could say anything, she turned around and ran back to where Nightspirit last saw Tail. As he tried to follow her, the pain came back causing him to stop and lower his head. After awhile the pain subsided, and slowly he made his way towards the others. He was almost there when he heard Shiray growl and yell. Something was happening… so he began to sprint towards the area.

When he arrived he saw Shiray was growling at Tri causing him to back up nervously. Tri was indeed scared, but when he saw his master return so did his confidence. “It’s too late, you can’t help him. Leave before I have him attack you.” The raven said softly to Shiray. Immediately he turned and flew back to Nightspirit, landing behind his front leg. Nightspirit approached the scene with caution and his glance shifted from Tri to Shiray. “Don’t growl at him, he has done nothing wrong.” Nightspirit said in a stern voice. The raven began tapping the wolf with his beak to get his attention, still confused, Nightspirit lowered his head to listen to Tri. “Sire, she’s gone mad!” Tri yelled as he hoped alongside the brute, “I told you she was up too no good sire but you didn’t listen! She doesn’t care about you; she only wants to use you.” Nightspirit raised his head to Shiray and titled it, giving a confused look. Tri again pecked at him, “Think about it sire, how many times have you complemented her and she’s rejected you? Plenty! I’m sure she even has a mate, but yet you’re willing to carry her pet around? Open you eyes and see the games that she’s playing you sire. I think she just wanted your ring.”

Tri’s words seemed to work on Nightspirit and his eyes began to fully change red. “Is this true Shiray? Are you using me?” he said in an irritated tone and letting out a low growl. He began to pace around Shiray with his eyes locked on hers, he would even give Ringtail a glance every now and then. “Tri does make sense in his tale. I trusted you Shiray and this is how you repay me?” Finally he stopped pacing around the fae. He stood in front of Shiray still gazing at her. Although it seemed as if he body wanted to attack her, his mind wouldn’t let him. He wasn’t going to hurt her, he couldn’t. Slowly he began to back up from her and again a massive pain in his head occurred. He dropped to the ground and his wings laid flat on the ground. He let out a few low whines because of the pain he was in. As he tried to stand up his legs shook, but he was able to stand… barely.

“You don’t look well sire.” Tri said sarcastically. “Don’t worry, just listen to me sire and“Ill get you through this.” Nightspirit turned and looked at Tri, then Shiray, he didn’t know who to believe at this point. His eyes had turned back to their natural silver color but there were still traces of red in his eyes. Who should he believe? Who is really lying to him?

As Nightspirit came to the clearing, Shiray gazed at him with blank eyes, showing no emotion at all. She watched as Tri flew behind Nightspirit, his statement from before nagging at her. "He would not attack me Tri!" she said sternly. Her voice was rough and still on the edge of growling. "Nothing wrong, Tri has done nothing wrong?" she practically yelled when Nightspirit spoke back to her to stop growling. "He was pecking Ringtail!" She said later, answering her own inquiring question. She barked once and then stopped when Tail touched her shoulder. She looked down at him and then back to Nightspirit and Tri with a less harsh expression after looking at Tail.

When Tri spoke to Nightspirit, she growled as she caught the words. She… gone mad? What an outrageous statement! That foul... thing! She thought in her head, not knowing what else to call Tri. Why would she use Nightspirit? He insisted on carrying Tail after she even wanted to still go ahead and let him stay on the ground. Things where just not going right. When Nightspirit's eyes glowed red, she whined and then quickly started to growl, barring her fangs and letting her hackles rise once again as his own accusation began.

When he paced around her, asking her his question, her tail flew high like a banner, her body tensing to lunge at the wolf who dare almost accuse her of something she didn't even do. Her growls became harsh as her fur stood on end with her tail high in the air, falling into the alpha instinct to assert dominance. She had to remind herself though that Nightspirit wasn't in her pack. Loners where usually shunned, but she didn't have any wolves in her pack, so maybe she was just a loner as well. Still growling, she suddenly let out a fierce bark as his second question burned her ears. "I have not used you, Nightspirit!" she growled out, putting emphasis on certain words.

Once he stopped pacing, Shiray's muscles loosened a bit, knowing now that he would be coming in that direction if he decided to attack. "Tri makes sense?" she asked and yelled outraged. "How does he make sense? I have not played games with you, nor have I used you, Nightspirit!" she told him, still biting back a growl. She was about to explain more when he began to back up and collapsed in front of her. With a high yip of worry, her ears went back, clearly worried at the sudden collapse. She ran over to him, a whine in her own throat as his whimpers tugged at her.

As he tried to stand, she went over, offering her help and support. Tri however was still on guard it seemed. She glared at him, her head down as her shoulder and side had been braced to help Nightspirit. With her head free, she kept her head low, pushing it forward with her teeth barred at Tri. "How can you help him Tri?" she asked, her voice a bit snappy in areas. She leaned back into Nightspirit, her attention still mostly directed at Tri while part of her was still worried about Nightspirit and she hated to admit it, but scared as well. Would he still try to attack her? She could handle it though shouldn’t she? She wasn't an Alphess for nothing.

The black raven smiled as he began to see his plan work. Nightspirit slowly began to distrust Shiray and Shiray seemed irritated that her loyalty had been questioned. It was all too easy in his mind. Soon he would be just like his father, nothing more than a servant with an aggressive nature. All he had to do was continue to upset his master and he would be under his spell. However, it seemed as if Shiray was determined to ruin he plan, he would have to do something about her.

As Nightspirit tried to stand up Shiray walked over to assist him. Tri quickly jumped away as she bared her fangs at him. As he was rising Ashrael let out a faint growl at Shiray but he did not attack her. He laid his head on her back until he was on his feet. His head was a complete mess now. He knew Shiray wasn’t tricking him but Tri seemed to use Nightspirit’s loneliness against him. The black wolf stood to his feet still wobbling a little. He began to back away from Shiray still unsure of her.

“Shiray… you have to get away from me… till I find my earring.” He said still strained from the immense pain he was in. Slowly his eyes began to fully turn red again; he closed his eyes and laid back on the ground. One eye opened as he looked at her, “I’m sorry Shiray…” he said in a depressed manner. “It’s… my fault for this… I shouldn’t be mad at you… or Ringtail.” Again he flinched in pain from his headache.

Seeing his opportunity, Tri calmly flew down and landed on Nightspirit’s head, causing him even more pain. He knew Nightspirit couldn’t do anything about it so he turned and smiled at Shiray. “Me? Help him? Even if I wanted to I couldn’t. The ring on his ear, which your squirrel friend took off, keeps him from turning into a blood crazed wolf like his father. It was a gift from his mother to protect him from that besides, I can’t touch it anyways, it’s protected from me. As of now his sense of emotion is heightened, meaning the angrier I make him, the closer he is to obeying me.” Tri started to feel a little uneasy telling Shiray that so he kept a close eye on her. “You’re such a silly Nightwind Shiray, you obviously failed to notice Nightspirit seemed to like you. It was obvious; the compliments, the ‘accidental’ bump you two did, and his voluntary carrying of that rodent. Don’t tell me you really are that slow…” the raven chucked at the thought.

Slowly Nightspirit rose to his feet, flicking the bird off of his head. His eyes now blood red, he stared at Shiray with an angry look. He walked up to her in an aggressive manner, his wings spread and his ears laid back, he seemed ready to attack as he let out a growl. Tri flew down and landed in the distance. His eyes were attracted to a faint white glow; it was Nightspirit earring lodged in a tree. It was too small an area for either Nightspirit or Shiray to fly to but Ringtail was more that capable of reaching it. Tri stood in front of the tree to make sure no one could get to it; he hoped they hadn’t noticed it.

“Yes sire, kill her! She had treated you as nothing more than a pawn! Using your own emotions against yourself! This fae is full of seduction and tricks!” Tri again smiled at Shiray and began to watch what was about to happen. Nightspirit now was a few inches away from Shiray still staring at her with a fierce gaze, “Why do you toy with my emotions Shiray? You’re just like the others…” his voice was that of utter sadness, now he was completely lost.
