Rules:

1. Please, no name calling or bashing of other players. We are all mature adults (at least in most senses) and can deal with problems in an appropriate manner without reducing ourselves to primary school level. IC disputes, fights and arguements should be negociated with the other player/s in PM beforehand. Make enemies and friends, but make sure it stays in-character.

2. Posts should be written in the past tense. This is for ease of reading for us all. If someone has slipped up, a friendly PM to them can correct that. We are all human, we all make mistakes (especially us) and mistakes are easily fixed.

3. Pay attention to the posts before you. Most of us tend to write in little small physical signs of how a character is feeling or acting and this can give the observant player tips on how to respond.

4. Please, no puppeteering or godmoding. Unless you have worked out what your character and another are doing, do not move/slap/strangle/or otherwise direct what another character is doing. You can try to do something to them, but it is up to the other player whether it works or not.

On the flip side, if someone tries to slap/strangle/or shove your character keep in mind that not everyone can dodge everything or avoid any bad situation.

5. Please create your own characters. This is a role playing game and we would like to see what your own ingenious/devious mind can come up with, not a rehashing of another character from the books.

6. This is an adult forum, and we deal with mature themes (or immature themes, if you like). The weyr has been ransacked by plague and Threadfall and in it expected that these are rather rough times for any weyr. Swearing is fine, but please avoid racial slurs. If you wish to role play gratuitous violence/gore or explicit sexual situations out in detail, please PM an admin with a request and we will send you the password for the mature forum.

7. Certain things are not allowed without admin permission. Creating a full dragonrider, you are not allowed to make queen riders. Also, if you are bringing in a pet fire lizard you are only allowed canon colors. If you want one of the non cannon colors we ask you find a hatching of the little darlings. There is a maximum of two fire lizards per character to start, and a maximum of four per character eventually. Each player can only have a maximum of ten fire lizards per player as nothing is more frightening than the image of a Pernese cat (fire lizard) lady.

8. Quality control: We don't expect every post to read like an epic novel, but put effort into each one. Spelling, punctuation, grammar, correct use of speech colours for dragons and tense (3rd person, past tense) are standard for posting. Multiple violations of this will result in warnings, and if there is no improvement, eventually a ban.

9. Disputes: If a dispute arises between players, they must let the GameMaster know, and the admin will moderate between them. Arguing on the board will result in suspension, during which the mediation will occur. This does not include IC character disputes, of course.

10. All characters are copywritten to their respective owners, and all artistic products of this board belong to those who create them. No characters, art or writing is to be used outside of the boards without permission. Pern and all its contents are copywritten to Anne McCaffery.
