Well guys wanted to give everyone an update on WAR so far.

We started on Skull Throne server, Destruction side (no more carebear baby!! woot)
My char names are: Krekor, Zymm, Kalanist

Like Ave said, there were some server lag issues the last few weeks which is normal for a launch of any MMOs, however the issue seems to improve dramatically this week, I haven't notice that much lag issues at all. However a warning to people our server is the most populated server which is good b/c the pvp/rvr action is always there. However there sometimes is a queue in order to get in. It is only about 10-20 mins during the weekends now, but the weekdays there are no queue times.

From my experience playing RVR games like Daoc, we want to stay on a populated server, little people results in little pvp action.

As for the gameplay, very fun and smooth. In the beginning I thought it would feel like WoW b/c the graphics are similiar but it doesn't at all. The gameplay is a little slower which is ideal for pvp since it gives people a chance to counter react. The feel of the game is really good, they made pvp very group oriented, therefore in order to succeed as a group in RVR you need to play your chars accordingly.

The RVR in this game is similar to DAoC where there are keeps and cities for people to fight over, claiming a keep gives your realm a bonus in that zone for extra gold, items, xp, etc. The RvR however seems more polished and smooth so makes getting into rather easy.

The guild system in this game promotes people to be in a guild. Each guild starts off as rank 1 and can grow up to rank 40. You gain guild rank by paying taxes to you guild. Every time you kill a mob and it drops gold a % of that gold goes to the guild. The more people contribute the faster the guild will rank up. Higher rank guilds have access to different zones, different abilities and bonuses.



Right now our guilds name is Ashes to Ashes, it's a friends guild from WoW, all very cool people. We have about 30+ members in the guild already, mostly all RL friends or mutual friends, so you will be joining a friendly environment. I have about 10+ RL friends playing with us right now and plans for more people to join. Cele just msg'd me and he plans on getting the game next week! GJ Cele!! I hope to see everyone there soon as well, can't wait to play with you guys again.



The computer requirements, ahhh yes it seems to be a concern. Surprisingly the games doesn't require as much as I thought. It probably requirements a bit more then wow, but I can't be to sure since I haven't gotten in the large scale RvR yet, and when I mean large we are talking about 300+ people fighting on your screen at the same time.

However if some of you are interested in building a new computer to play please let me know what you budget is and I can help put together a list of computer parts for you. I built a system for my roomie which cost about $600 and it runs the game flawlessly. Also for your Canada people I think Saeryn works for NCIX so he has hook up to computer parts up there if you guys need.

If you guys need help with the building a system I'm here to help, let me know what you budget is and I can put together a list of the best part from your budget.


So it's time to stop playing FFXI and come join us in WAR!! It's a great time to try something new. For the people that haven't playing WoW before i serious hope u guys would consider this game. You really need to try the gameplay of this game b/c FFXI the gameplay to be honest is rather old and outdated. It's hard to explain gameplay unless you actually try it yourself. A good gameplay is when you play and its fun smooth and everything is easy to access. this game definitely has that.

wow interesting to see this ls continues on... to be honest war had no appeal to me, but hearing so many bp-ers jumping on, i wish i could do the same... maybe sometime down the line i will jump on by but at the moment i do not think i have the cash, let alone the time. would still like to keep in contact somewhat in case i am able to jump on and try it out a bit. do you have a link to the forum your war guild has up that i may troll a bit on?

so how is everyone doing on war, and what level is the guild already? curious about an estimate on getting a guild to lvl40... also what general times do you people play around... please include timezone !!! maybe if enough gay orgies go on in jaymee gay bathhouse guild, i might be summoned aboard, but i think you will need A LOT of gay sex... more than elz can ever put out in 5 lifetimes with the help of a cup of jello and a toothbrush

Hey Fallin!! good to hear from you man.

From the looks of it I think we'll be sticking around with WAR for a while, so there is time for u guys to join us later next year.

Our guild is rank 10 now, ranking up depends on how big the guild is and how much taxes the guild is charging. This game the guild sets a tax % and whatever money you pick up while quest, pvping, PQing, etc. the % of that goes to the guild. That is how the guild gains rank. The higher the rank the more access the guild has to special things, like standards, buffs, access to different zones, emblems, etc.

So the guild system in this game actually promotes people to be a part of a guild or alliance.

Our guild usually plays around 5pm - 11pm PST on weekdays.

So far we are rank 17 as a guild almost 18, 2 more lvls till we get our guild emblems on our cloak!! I'm lvl 33 now not that hard to lvl.

They are adding a major patch in Dec to sort out the class imbalance and stuff for pvp so that would probably be a good time to get into the game if your interested. Also 2 new classes are getting added in Dec as well. I like how Mythic are constantly adding new content into the game and make changes based on the feedback from the community.

Elz emailed me last nite as well, so I hope to see him IG soon as well. Also hope to see the rest of you guys in the game! If anyone needs a copy of the game for $10 please let me know, I might still be able to get some from a friend in EA. Might take a while to get tho =)
