[Celeste Lachance]

She looked up at him as he shifted, her eyes following him as he sat in front of her. He moved closer and she dropped her leg as he neared, lifting her hand when he was inches from her. His lips touched hers and her hand froze before dropping to her lap. She looked up at him as he spoke, listening to him. Trying to figure out what it all meant. He kissed her a second time and this time she put her hand lightly on his cheek. She felt him smile and she too smiled against his lips, looking up at him.

The next four words hit her hard and she felt her heart stop for a moment. She slowly leaned back and looked up at him. After he had finished with his last words she lowered her hand, still looking up at him. Her hand dropped to her lap again as she continued looking up at him, her eyes searching his, trying to find the trick behind what he had said. Surely he had said it only to jest. Or if he had meant it, it was in the childish way he always had loved her.

But looking into his eyes now she saw no hint of that. Saw no reason at all to believe that he didn't not mean what he had just said. Even still. She felt her heart start to race a bit and was sure it would have jumped out of her chest if it wasn't restrained. "I-I'm sorry... What did you say?" She asked, her voice soft and quiet. She needed clarification. Maybe she had heard it wrong.

He smiled at her quaint confusion. He knew that even those this is what she had wanted she wasn't sure if he was being serious. He reached out and placed both hands on her cheeks and leaned forward and kissed her softly for a long time. THen he whispered softly against her lips. "I love you Celestia.....I really do."

He gazed into her eyes and pulled her close to him resting his forhead against hers. His smile was warm and gentle. His eyes kind and loving. He leaned forward and kissed her again this time revealing all his feeling for her in that simple kiss.

She watched him as he moved, her head turning to watch his hands before she felt them on her cheeks. She then turned her head and looked up at him as he leaned forward. His lips met hers and she closed her eyes at the feeling, returning his kiss and putting her hand lightly on his arm. His words came moments later and she found herself smiling.

What she had always wished for, he had finally said. And meant, no doubt. Her eyes were still closed as he rested his forehead against hers. She opened her eyes and looked up at him, the smile on her lips soft and small, though there nonetheless. Chills ran down her back as she saw the emotion behind his eyes as well as what his smile held. He meant what he said.

When he leaned forward again to kiss her, she met his lips and returned the kiss. Her heart started beating a little faster and she could feel her breath catch in her chest as she kissed him, a feeling so new to her she didn't know what to do. But she ignored it. Being this close to him was unlike anything she had ever felt, and she didn't want to ruin it.

After kissing her for awhile he slowly pulled back from her gazing into her eyes. The wolf inside of him was telling him to take her to have her. His human side was telling him to be kind, gentle, and loving to her right now. And his heart was only telling him to love her.

"I love you Celestia," he leaned down and moving his hand away from her right cheek licked it gently. He smiled down at her then moved his other hand and licked her other cheek. He then rested his forhead against hers and licked her lips softly. This was an old and ancient way of a male lycan to show a female lycan how much he cares for her. He then pressed his lips lightly against hers and mouthed his next words silently against her lips. "I want to be yours."

Celeste's eyes closed at the words he again said. They were filled with the same truth as the ones before. When he leaned down and licked her cheek, she opened her eyes. He licked her other cheek and she felt her arm drop from his. It wasn't until he licked her lips that she froze. She had been right. This ancient way of affection wasn't new to her, but it showed her how much he cared for her. Any why wouldn't he? He had known her since she was but a little girl. He had been younger then, but still he was a few hundred years older than her now.

When he pressed his lips to hers and whispered to her, she closed her eyes before stepping back, opening them back up and looking up at him before turning around and doing the one thing she was most comfortable with and that was easiest to escape with. The transformation took a couple of seconds, and soon she was standing in her wolf form in front of him, her back to him and tail between her legs a bit.

Without a second glance, she walked off a little bit before laying down on the floor with her head on her paws. Her eyes were searching the ground as her mind flew. She had felt something for him since she was a little girl, it was true. And now, with all of the love that he was finally showing her, she was denying him? It didn't make sense to her, but she had to do it. A moment more made her realize the real reason.

She was scared.

James watched her reaction and he felt his heart tearing apart from the inside. He had put it out there for her to have, and she didn't want it. She turned from him and he just stood there stunned and silent. It took a long time for his mind to register what had transpired just now and that was the final straw. Something inside of him snapped. Something that neither his wolf or his human side could control. His head wnet back and an eirie ear splitting howl filled the night air, neither wolf nor human as his body changed not into his wolf form, but something much more monsterous something much more dangerous.

His body shook with the force of the change, he had only done this type of change a few times before, it was far more painful than the human to wolf and back. His screams and howls of pain were far louder than what her's had been while she had been changing and fighting with the wolf inside of her. This was the most monsterous form a wolf could take, but only one in every thousand wolves could possibly even go into this form. When the change was complete he loosed another beastial howl that filled the air.

Instead of charging after Celeste like one would have thought he fled from her. He had frightened her, and pushed her away from him forever because he was a monster, and now his body matched what she must have thought of him as. He didn't want her to see him in that state so he ran.

Celeste lifted her head and was about to stand to move over to him again, to explain to him what was going on in her head. To show him that he did matter to her. When she stood and turned around, her body froze as the ear-splitting howl reached her ears. With widened eyes, she watched as his body transformed in an unusual way. Never had she seen someone transform in this way, a way that was half man and half wolf. The screams that escaped his mouth made her cringe and shy away from him before she found herself transforming back and moving toward him.

"James? What's going on? What are you doing?" Her voice contained a slight hint of fear for him in it as she continued to step toward him. She was about to put her hand on his arm when he took off running away from her. She watched him for a few moments before taking off at a run, following him. She wanted to explain. She wanted to let him know that she didn't hate him. At the rate he ran, she couldn't catch him. It took moments for her to transform, and once she did she lifted her head to the sky and let out a pained howl. She hated herself for doing this to him. Sitting down, she lowered her head to the ground and heaved out a sigh, closing her eyes as a single tear ran down her cheek.
