The night was like any other, really nothing too special about it. Except for the fact that it was cozily warm, though that was not too much of a problem for Roderick, who spent most of his nights in the woods. It was his home after all, and the best place for him to change and not hurt any random civilians. That was what he liked about this place, during the day he could do whatever he wanted and not be suspected by anyone of being a lycan. Then during the night he had a safe place to go and sleep, though it was not an actual house, it was still a very nice place. It was always made better with nice nights from Roderick's experience living there for the passed few weeks.
At the moment, the young werewolf was wandering around, or exploring the forest to be more accurate. He did not know how to get around in th forest very well yet and if he wasn't paying attention he would easily get lost. Just because he was that kind of person. Roderick always got lost if he had no signs or maps to show him the way to some where. It was actually quite pathetic really. When Roderick was at the Orphanage there had been a time before his and Jordan's actually escape, that they decided it would be best to run away from that horrid place and live on their own. This of course did not go as planned because the caretakers from the Orphanage obviously caught them. Anyways, Jordan was dubbed the packer by Roderick (cause he was like the leader of the two) and Rabastien was the one that had to plan their escape. It was in the heat of playground play time. When all the kids would run around and play tag together. It was one of the most chaotic times of the day, and the best time to slip away from the Orphanage amongst all the chaos. So that was what Jordan and Roderick did. Sadly they did not make it even a kilometer away from that hell hole. Roderick had no idea where he was going and neither did his little friend Jordan. It had only taken the staff a matter of hours to locate Jordan and Roderick. Of course they had received a good harsh talking to once they had returned to the Orphanage, but that did not affect them as much as the disappointment of not completing their run away scheme. So they kept trying and trying to develop a plan all over again. It finally worked when they were teenagers, and that lead to the death of Roderick's best friend, the death of a beast, and the creation of another monster. Roderick sighed at the memory as he maneuvered his way through the increasingly dense forest. This place was really calm, it made Roderick also wander around his memories and thoughts, which was something he really did not want to do. Roderick kicked an on coming stick and then plopped down on a severed tree stump. He rested his chin on the palm of his hand and let out yet another sigh, "This place is so calming..." So calm and relaxing that Roderick was getting tired. -------------------- - Current Threads - A New Pet is in Order Here + Charlotte & Felecity ♦ A h o m e FOR a [ w o l f ] ♦ + Wynn & OPEN ~ A Night Spent Wandering + Seth |

The warm night air was nothing new to him, as Seth had experienced it for the past few nights wandering the grounds. He had chosen tonight to walk without his cloak wrapped around his neck, the one that distinguished him as a teacher, a professor. He instead was wearing his usual black pants and long-sleeved black shirt. Tonight, however, the sleeves were rolled up past his elbows. The forest had gotten thicker since he started working there, and now required him to maneuver his way through its dense foliage. Not only did having his bare arms showing help him not get his arms caught, but it also helped with the warmth, cooling him down a bit as he wandered through.
He had heard in passing from someone that there was a creature in the forest that was killing everything, poassibly for food. What it was, Seth was determined to figure out. Most people, upon looking at him, would think that he wouldn't be able to do anything, as he carried no weapons to kill or injur the animal. Most importantly, he carried around no weapons to defend himself from it. But it mattered not to Seth. He had a feeling it wasn't exactly an animal, persay, but rather a man, or woman, living out here instead of in the town. He had seen it before, and each time was able to convince the other to find a room to rent, or to live in the dorms if it was a student. Even still, he was prepared. He walked through the trees more until a familiar scent caught his attention. Sure, he didn't have the senses that the lycans in the town had, but he had a pretty good idea of when he was around another vampire like himself or a lycan. And now he could tell that it was a lycan. He had never met this one, however, so Seth wasn't able to tell who it was. What he did know was that he had been past here, and seemed to be looking for something. He continued walking, hoping to find the lycan soon and be able to ask him why he was out so late and in a forest full of mysteries, especially so late at night. He stumbled closer to the small clearing that the lycan sat in and Seth stopped. He closed his eyes and was immediately in a tree overlooking the stump. The man seemed to be bored, or tired. It was close to impossible to tell when he was this far away and didn't want to risk tapping into the male's mind to figure it out that way. Instead, Seth watched him for a moment. The words that came out of the lycan's mouth made an eyebrow raise slightly before he reclined back on the branch, resting his head back against a large clump of leaves. "I would be careful if I were you, young lycan. Sitting in the middle of this forest is not the best of ideas. One could get lost if they were no careful." His eyes were closed, his body stretched out along the branch and his feet propped up on the trunk of the tree. He opened one of his eyes and looked down at him without moving his head. "I am guessing you are the one that people have seen wandering this forest looking like a beast? You should be careful; humans believe everything that they see and hear. Soon you'll be looked upon as a monster rather than a civilized lycan." |

As Roderick sat there he took in all that was around him. The many different scents of the foliage and trees that made up the forest was almost mind blowing they were so strong. Lovely, but strong all the same. The only thing that the werewolf could do to keep the smells from giving him an enormous headache was to breath more through his mouth than his nose. That eased the bombardment of scents tremendously. He also listened very carefully to all that was around him. He could hear random animals running and dashing through the underbrush of the forest. Most of them were just small little creatures, like squirrels and chipmunks. He had only caught the sound of a deer darting through the forest a few moments before he heard someone speak above him.
"I would be careful if I were you, young lycan. Sitting in the middle of this forest is not the best of ideas. One could get lost if they were no careful." Okay, it was needless to say that the young lycan was startled by this new presence in his immediate area. Especially because he had not noticed the presence until the moment he (at least Roderick thought it was a he by the sound of his voice) wanted himself to be known. It was really quite frightening. Roderick jumped up from the stump he was sitting on and immediately tensed because of this new being. His mismatched gaze lingered to the tree tops and he spotted the person in the trees. The 'man' was laying rather casually on a branch that was right above the stump he was just on. That would give the impression that he meant no harm, so Roderick relaxed a tad. From what Roderick could tell the guy turned his attention to him from up above before he asked, "I am guessing you are the one that people have seen wandering this forest looking like a beast? You should be careful; humans believe everything that they see and hear. Soon you'll be looked upon as a monster rather than a civilized lycan." Roderick rose one of his slender metallic white brows and cocked his head to the side when the guy finished, "What?" He said simply. Roderick then furrowed his brows. He was getting a feeling that this guy really didn't mean any harm, seeing as how he was telling him to be careful of the humans. Roderick sniffed the air, trying to acquire a scent from the person above, which he did. It was a different smell but he recognized it almost immediately. It was similar to the smell of his mentor. A vampire. Roderick relaxed a bit and stuffed his hands into the pockets of his old jeans. The lycan let out a sigh. He cast his eyes to the ground and thought, I was sure there were no humans around.... Roderick turned his attention back up to the vampire and asked, "Why have you told me this? We are supposed to be natural enemies...no?" Roderick had yet to meet another vampire after living with his mentor. So he had not known what to expect from any that he met. His mentor always told him that lycans and vampires were enemies and that was just the ways things were. He never really explained the reasons why, probably because Roderick was just a teen when he was living with him. -------------------- - Current Threads - A New Pet is in Order Here + Charlotte & Felecity ♦ A h o m e FOR a [ w o l f ] ♦ + Wynn & OPEN ~ A Night Spent Wandering + Seth |
