Black. White. Black. White. His heavy paws set down a steady drumbeat upon the well trodden path of countless wolves before him as he advanced towards the Stones which seemed to have been ascended to a high and ritual status for little more than the shape they formed. Delano scoffed at this, seeing little point in his making the journey at all, lest to such and area as this which offered little to anyone.
His keen senses worked as a team at all times, giving him scope of exactly what was coming his way at a given moment. His ears swivelled as radars, listening for the smallest rustle of leaves or crack of a twig, picking up the slight sounds of those hidden animals that would be considered prey, on the calm and still dawn. His ice cold eyes scanned back and forth across the area infront and to his sides, looking for the telltale signs of an ambush or any other underhanded schemes that may have been thrown his way - god knows he deserved them. The old scents of prior Alphas reached his black nose, their presence lingering even when their bodies did not, their strengths and weaknesses portrayed to the brute in their musks.
He entered the Stones, all swagger and confidence; though perhaps his posture would not give this impression, his head carried low - as always - with his tail in idle swing behind. He took a moments observation, planning ahead for any eventualities that may occur, seeking the area's hinderances and advantages.
With conviction of appropriate precautions, he threw his head back and howled, singing out loud and clear to those Alphas who would listen - and if they would not then it was simply a matter of instating himself; which Delano had no objections to. His voice proclaimed in simple tones for them to come to him, an edge of hauntiness apparent alongside lashings of confidence and just the slightest hint of a threat. With powerful lungs he maintained for a minute before falling back into contemplative and awaiting silence.

He lay his casual observance over the newly arrived other, icy eyes searching through this black brute's soul and obtaining all the relevant information: Delano held a certain pride in his deductive measures. His sense of smell came into play as well - pack life was detectable upon this wolf's aroma, and a high rank there-in was apparent. A smirk appeared upon his lips, ivory canines exposed.
He ignored the question asked of him, asking one of his own in retort instead, 'Who approaches so bold as brass?' his voice was low and gravelly, seductive tones lingering around his words regardless of their meaning, 'Who has the gall to make requests when called upon by another?'
He turned himself straight to the midnight wolf, his dark half and his light half both shown to the other, his porcelain gaze never waivering from a focused frown. His muscls shew to be relaxed and his posture showed no dominance nor threat, but still both were tangible in his air and demenour - he had power and was not to be messed with if life was valued.

Delano laughed insolently, his bark rough and loud but framework remaining perfectly stationary, his eyes maintaining their constant fix upon he whom was now assumed as an Alpha to one of the packs in these lands.
As the black approached, Delano's hackles rose - his already huge frame amplified by the thick fur that covered his shoulders and flanks - in an agressive response. His pupils narrowed to slits, soul searching eyes a barren and completely desolate white, he would not bow to this wolf, to any wolf: and he would make that clear right from the off.
The burning silence echoed around the pair, each unwilling to back down both physically and mentally. Delano pondered the questions posed but as yet offered no response to any, a steely and resolute manner upheld in want of respect for this Alpha. He remained on the offensive with his subtle words, as if the other had never spoken at all, tonality mellow and sarcastic in oposition to his posture, 'Such hospitality...' he smirked.
Although the threat was there, Delano sensed no immediate backing to it, raising his head and standing with more pride, hackles returning to flat yet his ears still pinned back - still prepared for the eventuality of physical abuse. At this stature his true potential was visable: a strong and brawny body, wicked teeth, piercing eyes, a sharp tongue and quick wit - along with all the ability to take up the mantle of a great Alpha.
He fell back to silence, a sneer curving his lip, testing the patience of the other.

"Great. There's about to be a fight on sacred ground and for once Raiz hasn't started it." came Anubis' voice as they reached the Gathering Grounds. "I'm not so sure that would be a good idea, Anubis. Fighting on sacred ground always leads to trouble."
He followed the alpha into the grounds. His yellow eyes fell on the Tuscorian alpha and a wolf he didn't recognize. He said nothing as Anubis confronted Raiz.

'I trespass upon none...' he growled in response, eyes flitting between the three who now stood around him. Reinforcements. 'No pack commands this place, that much can be told from the essence of so many scents lingering here...'
He offered some study of the two new Wolves who had come to his call, they belonged to a different pack than this first foreigner but held just as much authority - Delano couldn't keep the traces of a smile from his expression: their packs must indeed be small if the Alphas were first on the scene to every newcomer to the area. This set him a little at ease but he upheld his alertness, the pack size was not his immediate concern; the fact that he was quite outnumbered at that moment was.
His paws remained in place, where previously only his eyes had turned upon these new to the scene now he turned his whole head, again lowered to its usual pose in line with his shoulders - though the corner of his vision was still occupied by his first opponent. He held silence, awaiting the oppertune moment.
