Title: 27th Murii Overwatch Grenadiers
Description: ** Pic SUPERheavy**

Longinus - December 31, 2008 11:21 PM (GMT)
Well today is a good day for me because today I've FINALLY finished my grenadiers. The reason is say finally is because I've been working on them for three years o_O . I've been painting them, greenstuffing them, hating them, tearing them apart, and repeating this process on and off for far too long. So I dedicated a chunk of my break from school to get these guys right! Although I'm not 100% satisfied with them, it'll have to do because I'm not putting a paintbrush to them ever again haha.

Here is what I've got cooked up. ** PIC SUPERHEAVY **

Very nice!

Am I correct in assuming they're based on the Overwatch from Half Life 2?

If so, I made you this one:

Very, very nice! I like the paint scheme, looks very urbanish. Never seens the doubled barreled lasgun before but it looks realy cool.

Great sense of movement on some of the models. Quality pictures as well is a big plus!

I can see that they're making good use of the things that they find, the things that the everyday folk leave behind...

The double barrelled lasgun is actually one of the few but insanely good ideas that are on the official GW website in the konversion klinic.

Although Longinus' version is much more awesome, being so huge, bulky, and super detailed like that.

I'm also in absolute, inconditionnal love with that plasmagun.

Also, that sort of "loads of pic" threads are by far my favorites. And from all those, this is definitely one of the best such threads.

I hope they help you win many battles!
Pretty cool scenery too!

those guys are amazing! i love the double lasguns. and that plasmagun has got to be the best plasmagun i've ever seen.

absolutely fantastic job!!

I like the feel of these guys a lot. Very threatening. I'm not a fan of the double las guns, but I have to agree about the cool plasma gun and the gas masks. Also, the photography is great.

Thanks for the complements everyone! Its really inspirational.

Izaak: Well my upcoming plans are to scratch build some heavy mortars. To make the crew, I'll be taking apart some of my basic guardsmen and giving them more dynamic poses.

Panzergraf: Haha, you are quite correct about the HL2 overwatch. The Combine Overwatch inspired me to create an urban assault regiment out of IG. Although the only relevance my army has to their half-life counterparts is the 'Overwatch' name, the fatigue camo, and the general urban theme! I'm tryin to be as original as I can using the idea. :P Btw, thanks so much for the pic, its given me quite a good laugh!

Major: Yes! I've used various parts from a few sprues, namely chaos (shh, no one heard that)

Sebby: Thanks a lot. I tried to pull off a hellgun that - as far as I know- hasn't been done yet. The plasma gun was done simply using the Chaos Berzerker plasma pistol combined with a chopped up flamer.

Although I don't particularly like the masks, I've got to say that the colour scheme works fantastically and I love the sergeant, especially the chainsword. Fantastic.
