To get you excited, here are pictures/links to the prizes we are offering (and paying for out of my pocket. Lets get some entries!)

Prize for the Modeling Tutorial
  • A heavy duty pin vise (that would be the top vise in the picture of the link)
  • I am also including some drill bits

Prize for the Painting Tutorial
  • A 4-piece Round Red Sable set of brushes
  • Once you start painting with Red Sable, you wonder why you never have before.

Both prizes are approximately the same amount, and I will ship where ever. Please post your tutorials in the Hobby Tutorial section, so its ready to go after voting.

Also, we are offering a Golden Lasgun, a Silver Laspistol, and a Bronze Bayonet to the first, second, and third place winners to decorate your signatures, depending on the number of entries.

Captain Mike has submitted the first entry into this competition. Will there be anyone else to challenge him?!

GOOD LUCK!

I'd love to knock something up, but it's exam week.

If it closes jan 20th, I could get a scenery piece knocked up about how to make oriental buildings, as that's my project at the moment.

Guard projects are a no I'm afraid, as I only have blood angels in China

Speaking as another who tends to simply muddle their way through, I agree.

ATTENTION

Due to lack of interest and entries (as in, two entries), I am postponing this contest until the summer, when there is time, money, and energy.

I will work on making this contest less complicated. I may even consider a bigger prize package, or more prizes. I will definitely make it so that it is hobby related, at any rate.

I know that we are all talented, intelligent people. You can think of something. We are all modelers and painters, with some gaming, or a mix of all three.

Thanks to Captain Mike and Major Spiers, who entered. Their entries will be posted, and will be considered an entry when we try this contest again.

That's a shame.

I have a project in the offing which should make for a nice tutorial, though a rather involved one.

I'll start a WIP thread in the machine shop when my mail order get through, and I'll try to write the tutorial when I can work out how to explain the process.

Don't worry, we will try again in a few months.
