Athanos Crusade 997M41At this date in the south western area of Segmentum Tempestus, a crusade was launched to relieve the Athanos system of a large rebellion of massive proportions. The main leaders of the rebellion devoted themselves to the Dark Gods, summoning forth Daemons and Chaos Space Marine Traitors. Led by Lord General Augustus Ironclaw Drevin, the crusade was launched, combining a massive Imperial Guard force, supported by Astartes companies and Titan battle groups. The system consisted of five inhabited planets and three lifeless rocks orbiting a Phi-grade star. The system was laid out like thus: X234B-C2 Phi grade Star X34H-U Uninhabitable Athanos I Desert World, Large mineral reserves with a small population Athanos II Hive/City World, No uninhabited areas (population partially evacuated by loyalist forces) Athanos III Forest World, also used for cultivating certain crops Athanos VI Hive world, suspected headquarters of Rebellion command X33J-U Uninhabitable Athanos V Hive world, prone to plasma storms X32K-U Uninhabitable ice world The crusade command divided each world into three sectors, each sector commanded by a single commander as listed here: Athanos I: Sector 1 thechosen1, Sector 2 ezeckial, Sector 3 doom diverAthanos II: Sector 1 Firenze, Sector 2 - Zdog, Sector 3 MakotoAthanos III: Sector 1 Imperial Empire, Sector 2 Marshal Argos, Sector 3 Pax Urbus Pax ImperiAthanos IV: Sector 1 Superstalin!, Sector 2 - Grimbad, Sector 3 SplinterAthanos V: Sector 1 - sirdrasco, Sector 2 - Mkoll, Sector 3 Fleet: Izaak, , Units under each commander:Firenze: 13th Light Varonian Infantry, 6th Varonian Armoured, Knights Griffon 3rd Company, Space Wolves Iron Wolf Company, Legio Annihilatum Titan Legion (In full) Superstalin!: 19th Russika Karn Siege Regiment thechosen1: Tylansian 7th MEU, Disciples of Talravin 1st and 3rd Companies, Ordos Malleus enclave Imperial Empire: 28th Royal Cadian Regiment Izaak: Battlefleet sirdrasco: 4th Battalion, Ordos Malleus enclave ezeckial: Zdog: 3rd Gorpstan Combined Support Regiment Grimbad: Draugar IV Infantry, Ordos Xenos detachment Mkoll: Aukriian 1st Makoto: 5th Craithian Line Infantry doom diver: Pax Urbus Pax Imperi: Splinter: Inquisitorial Stormtroopers Marshal Argos: Fantoman 313th Drop Troop Regiment, Fantoman 327th Infantry Regiment, Fantoman 504th Special Assault Regiment, Fantoman 507th Infantry Regiment, Fantoman 508th Infantry Regiment, Fantoman 73rd Armored Regiment, Black Templar Crusade Rules for the Campaign:All participants must command an army using the Imperial Guard codex of at least 1500pts. Support from other Imperium affiliated codices and Imperial Apocalypse units may be used to bolster this force up to a maximum of 5000pts. Each player must try to play one game per week (or fortnight if your schedule is a little full) that is updated each week (or fortnight) on Boot Camp in the campaign thread. Participants give a brief overview (like a small command report for a lord commander) of the battle along with what speed the force is advancing. Example Report: | QUOTE | [Report Begins] From: Wolf Commander Firenze: Sector 1 on Athanos II To: Lord General Drevin Status: Advancing Quickly Varonian Forces encountered xenos beasts, assumed released by the rebels. Titan backup was requested and received at the frontline. The Varonian forces proceeded to encircle the main pockets of xenos resistance, ordered with full purge. This proved to be successful and almost all enemy units were eliminated. The frontline proceeded to push another 15 kilometres into hostile city area into the Macharius district. We have set up a large outpost from the old Cathedral and are using it as a forward reinforcement post. [Report End] |
 Games are scored as thus: Win (Advancing Quickly) - 2 campaign points Draw (Advancing Slowly) - 1 campaign points Loss (Stalled) - 0 campaign points. Each player has ten campaign points to gather till they conquer their assigned sector. When this is done, they may contribute any other campaign games they fight to other people's campaign scores to help them fight off their enemies. Enemy Forces are called as follows: Chaos Marines/Daemons/Guard/Titans are the same names Eldar and Dark Eldar are the same but are called 'pirates'. Tau forces are a pirate xenos force that has been scouring the sector called the Jaimundir Alliance Tyranids are local xenos life forms that are unnamed. Orks belong to a small Waaagh! incursion in the sector. Necrons are also trying to purge the sector also. Points will be updated on the first post and recorded here: Firenze 8 points Grimbad - 2 points Superstalin! - 8 points thechosen1 - 6 points Imperial Empire - 3 points Izaak - 0 points Makoto - 7 points sirdrasco - 2 points ezeckial - 0 points Zdog - 0 points Marshal Argos - 1 points Mkoll - 0 points doom diver - 0 points Pax Urbus Pax Imperi - 4 points Splinter - 1 points Good Luck all and let us take to the battles we face with courage and the utmost ferocity! Arbites survivors report presence of Orks in sector II of Athanos IV. The Ordo Xenos has intercepted communications, and theorize that the rebel scum are attempting to bribe the orks with heavy missile weaponry. The Inquisitor has ordered the Draugar IV th to engage the orks, a stark disappointment to Captain Raud, who hoped to personally hunt down rebel HQ. (Best of luck on that task to the Russika 19 th.) We have requisitioned additional flamer units for spore removal, and with luck, we should be able to engage the orks within the week. Attached Pict-Capture: Lt. Rohstahl, a Draugar trooper, and Csr. Holt (Note: No relation to the more famous Commissar of the same name) clear the upper levels of an abandoned Arbites watchpost.

Esteemed Lord General, I am glad to report that we are now in system and preparing to land on Athanos III. Battle Group 82 shall commence it's landings in sector two sometime within the next 36 hours, if only the Navy could pull it's head out of its... ++++Lost Transmission++++ ++++Re-training++++ ++++Signal Acquired++++ ... Once the 313th Drop Rgt has made planet fall I will bring down our Infantry and Armored support. If all goes to plan BG-82 should have sector 2 clear within 6 weeks. Additionally, prior to setting off from the Vallivar System, a crusade of Black Templars have pledged their assistance to BG-82 if it is needed. Although welcome I pray to the Emperor it shall not be needed.
I have attached a component list of our combat forces for your review. BG-82: 313th Drop Troop Regiment ** 327th Infantry Regiment ** 504th Special Assault Regiment** 507th Infantry Regiment 508th Infantry Regiment 73 Armored Regiment** * All regiments raised on Fantoma. ** I have models for these, the rest are there only for the fluff.
Your humble servant, Argos

[Transmission Incoming]
[Recieving]
Origin: Lieutenant Colonel Dall Harrick, Tylansian 7th MEU, 5th Company. Date: 997 M41, 0630 Hours Thought for the day: Ruthlessness is the kindness of the wise.
Lord General, my apologies for not having replied to your message sooner. My 5th Company was in the process of re-arming and resupply when we recieved your request. I am pleased to report that our vessels, along with the vessels of an Astartes Chapter, have arrived in system and are now in geosynchronous orbit above Athanos I. Captain Bart Lemming, the commander of our Third Platoon, has planned to accompany the Astartes planet-side, where they are beginning their assault. You may or may not have heard of Captain Lemming; ever since he was abducted by those foul Eldar xenos, he has never been the same. Regardless, I can think of no better man to spearhead the assault on the planet below.
The Astartes Chapter is a newer one, called the Disciples of Talravin. Their Chapter Master, Cale Uros, has requested that I forward his apologies for his tardiness as well. Chapter Master Uros, Captain Lemming and I await your commands; I have forwarded my proposed battle plan to you for your review. The Astartes have dispatched elements of their Scout company planetside in order to gather intelligence, and I have sent a small force of my elite Tylansian Marines to assist them. Once they report back, we will make landfall, beginning with a mission to evacuate the planet's meager civilian population. Whatever PDF troops remain will be reinforced, and then we will proceed to wipe the planet clean of His foes.
The final ship in our retinue contains an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and her retinue of Grey Knights. She is here to prevent any potential Daemonic incursions, along with her role as overseer of the campaign as a whole.
Our strike force consists of the following, for your review;
5 Squads of Hardened, battle-proven soldiers (50 in total) 1 full company of Tylansian Marines (300 in total, plus supporting elements) 1 full armored company (several Leman Russ variants) 1 artillery company (a mixture of Griffon heavy mortars and Basilisks)
Though the enemy may find us lacking in numbers, he will not find us lacking in resolve. Our scouts have reported that Orks have been sighted in the area, and the Inquisitor believes that the heretical forces of Chaos have taken root on the planet's surface. We shall know no fear, and will smite our enemies for the glory of the Imperium.
For the glory of the Emperor!

| QUOTE (Imperial Empire @ Aug 1 2009, 10:18 AM) | | are we starting now? and how do we sort out games? |
Yup we've started. As for how it works read the first post in this thread and the section "Rules for the Campaign". But to sum it up, you play a game against someone, and then right up a short story about it a so called After Action Review, there's an example in the "Rules" section. After that Firenze awards the points for the section (also explained above).
So all we have to do is play games and right up AAR's.
