So Leinad Yor gave me a gift from his childhood back to mine.
Now its in pretty rough shape but I want to turn it into a mega bastion (perhaps of the drop variety) piece fo terrain for my Imperial Guard.
This is what I am talking about.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terror_Drome

Now without regaling you with stories of my childhood neglect at not having one of these and my cousin having one, needless to say this is a bad mother of toy.

Its designed for 3.5" action figures so I will need to build internal platforms for 40k minis to stand on. It has a working elevator that I think I could put my bane blade in so I am thinking either a massive artillery piece or a really massive freight elevator.

Not all of the cobra covers are there anymore the bottom level is missing most of its stuff so I have rooms to do garages for russ and chimera chassis vehicle repair/ the big cobras on the top skirt I think will be refashioned into imperial eagles. since it no longer has an armament I will have to build new from scratch this will be a lot of fun in the coming months and I think I will provide a log.

I want to know though what suggestions you guys would have for it. BTW please don't tell em to throw it away or scrap it or give it to a little kid, one its not in a good condition for children , and two throwing it away not even my fiance has told me to do yet...So please throw out your awesome suggestions.

looks to me that it would make a pretty awesome "super" bastion for planetstrike, put in some of the twin autos cannons or the lascannon interceptor guns, throw in a radio mast and a few heavy bolter auto guns and shes a good 'un.

i have heard of imperial command posts that are deployed from orbit into hostile areas, like a immobile Leviathan. you could turn this into that quite simply i reckon. bays for the storage of high command vehicles, large strategic areas, chart tables lots of comm masts etc.

looking forward to what happens

cheers ODST

I always wanted a terror drome aswell armata_PDT_01.gif It came out when I was 1 and not yet recieving gi joes. I never wanted however, I had a ton of the old school ones, some of the best toys I think ever. In fact I digress but ive always loved IG and WH40k because you pretty much can build your own gi joes what have you.

I did however have a few of the other playsets, and while I dont have anymore, wish I did for conversions. I do have plastic bags full of loose realistic looking plastic missiles that can be repurposed easily for terrain. I feel having played with these toys as you did I may have a bit of insight on the sets.

Looking at it, I imagine either extending the thickness on the raised cobra symbols out to the front, or back, front preferably for aesthetics (imagine it as a gothic bastion with each raised cover extending out to add armor. Maybe have 2 rings of firing steps starting on the the inside top. the first ring starting at the first notch of the interior rings structure. where the parpets are low, maybe have it extended back to allow room for heavy weapon squads, where there is high cover, perhaps short and more for covered steps to the firing line. After that raise the floor up a bit and add some recesses for command areas and maybe a vox array. Lastly if the top is able to seperate from the base id consider extending it upwards.

Being as I am quite "inspired" right now, this project has got me a bit excited. I did a poorly drawn mockup to try to make what I said above more clear.
