The plan is to use the wheeled chimera conversion kits from chapterhousestudios studios, and forgeworld Taurus Venators as the sentinels. It's what I think a whole mechanised scout/assault company would look like, with a strong 6 wheel rapid response theme. They divide into small sections:

Assault platoon - command squad, vets, vets, banewolf
Platoon - platoon command, squad, squad, basilisk (assault gun)
Platoon - platoon command, squad, squad, basilisk (assault gun)
Artillery support from the manticore.
2 squads of 2 buggies as flanking support.

The Idea is that everything charges forwards in one massive wave, tank-shocking, burning and crushing all before it. Even the basilisks will charge worrywarts at full throttle, firing directly. I took basilisks over medusas as if an apportunity indirect shot presents itself early in the game, they can take it. The enemy will no doubt expect a parking lot, but get a bum-rush instead. The battlefield will be covered with burnt out wrecks and human corpses in no time, haha!

All the infantry were bought and painted years ago. The regular line infantry are Tallarns, the vets and company command are vostroyans.

In the summer when I buy this, I will have 13 chimera track units for sale on this site - a little bonus for all the scratch builders here. It's child's play to make an awesome scratch build if you have both the track units and side armour as GW standard....

I was thinking of swapping out the manticore for 2 hydras, but I'm not sure if I should.

Well, you can direct fire both, but the Hydra will only shoot 2 shots instead of 4, if you can live with that.

This is a crazy list! Completely psycho!

Pro Tip in regards to the Chapter House Kit. They don't fit 100% on a Chimera Chassis, and the wheels needed to be epoxed on. You may get a better bang for your buck with Secret Weapon Minatures and their wheeled chassis.

the chimeras will have recessed water bases, and the bottom part of the tyres will be shaved off. There's no way that

They come from a mud world - all the soldiers are on water recessed bases, with their feet cut off so the water comes half way up their shins.

hopefully I can make it look like they are all walking through thick, wet mud.

The name of the regiment is the 'lucky' 8th Elbonian Scatplungers.

Won't cutting the legs / wheels make your models really short compared to other peoples ?

Rather than cutting the shins , why not try using bases like the ones from Secret Weapon.

Or the hollow blanks to fill yourself.

While will be more mobile / scarier to face , 1 Manti' or 2 Hydra ?

Even the basilisks will charge worrywarts at full throttle, firing directly.

Wouldn't they only be able to move 6" though and fire the gun directly? How would that affect your game plan?

Not much, to be honest.

They'll get killed anyway, and I'll lose like I always do.

But in all seriousness, having your basilisks behind your transports and using them to block line of sight from the scary targets while leaving line of sight to the squishy ones can only be a good thing.

6"move on the support weapons is fine.

Yes and no.

They will be smaller, but only by a couple of millimetres. You can just tell the marine players that it is easier for you to 'true size' your army, thus making his peen-marines look ever so slightly taller, and thus more 'realistic' and manly.
