why is Ttriphyophyllum so hard to find. is it really hard to propagate

Because it only grows in a few places that are quickly being deforested. Its full life cycle includes a 150 foot climbing vine that releases the seed. This is difficult to accommodate. It is also hard to grow, and since the only known way to propogate it is through seed, the rarity of the plants themselves makes it very difficult to grow because it is also very expensive to screw up. As far as I know there are only two greenhouses in the world that are reporting success in growing the plant.

The last time I checked there are one or two botanical gardens in Germany and one or two others in other parts of Europe. I don't think there are any in America but I am not comepletly sure
