I have been growing CPs outdoors for a couple of years now in the North metro Denver area with great success so far. I recently moved to a new house with a huge back yard and set my North American species out there. A few weeks back a major hail storm came through and damaged every plant. The hail was bad enough that it cracked some of the plastic pots my plants are in.
My question is if there is anything that would keep this from happening again? I had thought about a clear plastic or thick glass raised over the pitcher plants to still allow light through. Does anyone have something they use to prevent severe weather damage? Thanks for the help! |

Nah, but the plastic idea sounds good. Just make sure it's strong!

a piece of clear roofing material such as solarlite would be a good option too.
