I have a plant that has just produced its first inflorescence. This is the first time I've had a Nepenthes flower and I'm very excited. The flower spike first appeared March 10, 2011. From what I have seen online, it seems like the buds look more male than female, but I guess it's hard to know until they actually open. I would love to swap pollen and share the resulting seeds with anyone who happens to have a female in bloom, or receive pollen and share seeds if my plant turns out to be female.
About my plant: It was purchased in October of 2009 from Lowe's in Aurora. The supplying company (Botanical Wonders) seems awfully shady from what I've read on other forums online. The plant was not identified and I don't really know what it is. I'm thinking some kind of N. ventricosa hybrid? So what plants to you all have that are in bloom and would you be interested in a pollen/seed swap? If your plant is not in bloom do you have pollen/seed swap forums or sites you could recommend? Thanks for your help! |

If you could contact Jeremiah I'm sure he could help you. HE has the largest collection of plants I know of in the area.
