Title: Looking for a few parts
Description: Heater screen, t-brake handle

lkbern60 - March 5, 2011 04:23 AM (GMT)
Im restoring my 1963 CJ3B and it is just about ready for the original Transport Yellow paint job. I do need a couple parts and hoping someone can help. I am looking for the screen for the heater that is mounted on the passenger sidewall. I am also looking for the emergency T-brake handle. Mine is broken and I was able to find one, but when it was shipped, it broke in the same place mine was. I will post photos as soon as it is completed. Thanks.....

Hi,
I have and am reusing the original screen and "metal ring" cover on my '64 3B just because it was still in good shape. The screen material, however is nothing very special. With some info you could find it at a good hardware or building supply, (read probably not a big box store). They would call it sand screen or hardware cloth. The metal ring could be fabricated from a traced template. I could send you all of this if you wish.
Regards,

Capt. Joe

PS:Can't help you with the hand brake. :D

As captjoe states, it is ordinary hardware cloth. It has a 1/4" wire spacing. The trim ring used to hold the screen in place is the same metal ring used to hold the transmission rubber boot down. As for the tee handle, is yours also broken on the right side? Mine is missing a piece from the right side of the tee handle as well.
