A "Harrison" is the only stock heater for a 1953 vintage.

Where do you live? I don't see any doors or top, so what is the heater for?
Jerk it out of there and put it on e-bay for the 18 wheeler bunch.
We wheel our 54 HH in the Northwest and I do not have a heater or doors or top, just a bikini top. take a jacket, blanket and maybe a rain coat and go for it. It is called "jeepin"

Prototype Flux capacitor holder. I don't think you can get it to 88 mph though.

Wow.. did a previous owner live in Alaska?

As for taking it out, should be fairly simple given that most heaters of this nature are fundamentally the same. Just remember to cap off the the inlet/outlet water supply once you’ve uncoupled the hoses in the engine bay. I notice a rust patch on the firewall at the back of what appears to be the fan section. Has hot water or coolant been sprayed up under the dash?

As for the power supply, slow and easy! With that monster out of the way, I’d give some serious attention to what is going on with the wiring under there. Good luck!

;)

That is quite the heater! How does the passenger have any room with that thing in there?

It reminds me of the old school bus heaters that sat under the last seat.

Scary thing is that with the Chevy8 in it, it would have no problem going 88....stopping w no brakes is another issue....

Honestly there isn't really room for a passenger with that stupid thing there...funny with all you guys' experiences, no one has seen this heater before... Thanks!

I bought it in Logan, UT from 2 guys who bought it for twice what I paid for it in Atlanta, GA and flatbedded it all the way back, and then never started it for 2 years...It has a lot of potential, especially since the motor (Chevy8) fired up pretty quickly and is a complete beast. So to continue to not answer the question, I have no idea why it's there. Say hello to Spokane for me, used to work for the Chiefs, love that town.

Thanks Phil, sounds pretty easy...that rust is pretty much surface, don't think it was coolant spray, but will know more once I dig in...appreciate the help!
