I've started tearing down my latest project, A M100 trailer of unknown year or manufacture. I have the weight and dimension plate attached so I'm sure it's a
"TRAILER. CARGO. 1/4 TON. 2W. M100"

I'm going to be needing some parts and I haven't found very many sources or parts yet.

I'd like any links or names of vendors to explore.
or if any of you have any parts for sell.

So far I know I'm going to be looking for;

Spring shackles

Shackle bolts

Shocks

Reflectors

Axle to spring u-bolts and nuts

Several of the clips for the spring leaves

Lunette washers

Don,
If you’re not already monitoring g503, now’s a good time (they can help also with locating parts or identifying which parts are model specific). Also there's at least one fella that may be able to help with pinning down when your trailer may have been made:

Most of the military vendors have trailer parts:

Don, as Rus mentions, Ron Fitzpatrick's G503 website is a wealth of information for the 1/4 ton jeep military and civilian trailer restorers and collectors.

I'm personally aware that John Bizal at Midwest Military in MN has a few repro parts (I've bought a Lunette eye, spring, washers and nut from him), and that Marcus at Willys Acres in Ontario, and Daryl at D&L Benzinger in PA, both of whom I've purchased trailer parts from, have a few used items in their warehouses. If Daryl isn't in At Benzinger's, speak to his wife, Lida; same for Marcus, although I can't recall her name at present, (or their last name). Brent Mullins annual open house, an event I usually attend to sell old MV items at, takes place in a couple more weeks and I normally see Marcus there as he and Brent are good business pals.

MD Juan in the Philippines now reproduces just about every conceivable part of the trailers, but their cast iron items (chain hooks, hitch pieces, etc.) to date for the most part are of very poor quality.

Rus has given you the websites for these folks, and I'll add their phone #'s for your convenience:
Ron Fitzpatrick is at 541 582-4036
John Bizal is at 952 440-8778;
Marcus is at 705 835-5739
Daryl Benzinger is at 610 286-9545
Brent Mullins is at 979 690-0203

Hope this sheds more light for you..............

Rus,
Larry,

I have had contact from John from Midwest. Thanks for the lead.

===================

Sometime in the past I had heard the M100 trailer wheels would match the wheels on the jeep that pulled it. A few days ago George at White Owl Parts, http://www.whiteowl.com/ , told me, " most of the parts you have mentioned will interchange with the Jeep. This was the way it was originally designed."

So,,, I started looking. Using the parts manual for the M100 trailer I found the drawing with the parts I needed and got the item number off the illustration. Using that item number I looked on the M100 parts list and got the Federal Stock number for the part I needed.

I then looked at the parts list for the M-38, Truck, 4X4 and found the item number for the same part in a drawing.

Sure enough, many of the suspension parts of the M100 trailer are the same as on an M-38 Jeep.

Using that item number I was able to look on the M38 parts list and find the Federal Stock Number. AND,, beside the stock number in the M38 manual is listed the manufacture's part number. I then took the WO number to my CJ3B Parts Manual and found that so far, these items are the same as on my 1953 CJ3B.

U bolt Shackle, right A514
U bolt Shackles, left A513
Oil Seal 805150

Well,, I won't bore ya'll with any more of the items, but needless to say,,
I'm a HAPPY man.

Don,

Glad to hear you're cooking with gas now and that you're a happy camper. Also, yes, the support gear on the wartime trailers was made exactly as the support gear under the jeeps, and it didn't stop there. 3/4 and 1 1/2 ton trailer gear would also swap out with the respective weapons carriers and deuce & a halfs towing them as well.

I am wrapping up my M100 project and have some extra bits and peices I was going to put up on the G503 site, nothing you mentioned needing but I have a pair of fenders with one very usable the other straight but the rolled edge is bad, leg plunger, light bracket, restorable brake lever, repo bronze spring bushings, leg pivot bolt and leg to brackets bolts and castle nuts.
FYI I purchased several things from Brett Mullins and can recommend them in particular to the NOS shocks I received.
