If you haven't been there already, be sure to go to the CJ3B Discussion Forum main topic page and get in on the discussion of how to organize information directly from The Overland. DJ3A is included here and we need your input. We are seeking ways to take historical literature pieces that have previously undocumented information and get it into a format that can be searched by Willys enthusiasts. Many of you have this and that to add to the pile. Let's explore ways for Willys owners to find the right way to restore our products as they were built. The current trend is to modify everything, chrome and splash. This site provides the basis to preserve Willys Products as they were built. Together we can pool our resources and provide a place to preserve Willys History. "Flat Fenders" do not have to mean fully modified. Willys engineers worked hard to provide a product that became the standard in the industry. In the 40's, 50's and early 60's there was no competition. Let's preserve it. Glennstin

Today I spent the whole afternoon trying methods to provide a way to get some of this info out into the Forum in a usable manner. I sent scans for two very rare bulletins out to F Bill, Derek and Colin. They are Form # W-1123, " Parts Peculiar To 'Jeep' Surrey Model DJ-3A" and Form # W-1083, "Parts Peculiar To Four Speed Transmission Models CJ-5 and CJ-6". Initial remarks from Colin indicate that the scans are usable. Hopefully F Bill or Derek will make these available for general use. This is a slow process, but the information contained in these bulletins is factual, straight from the horses mouth. This is the tip of the iceberg. Willys tried to provide the dealers with accurate, timely information in order to do quality repairs on their product. Again, I can't stress enough, the strain Willys Parts Dept. was under when ownership changed. Keepng abreast of the changes was a nightmare in the local dealership. Our DJ3A was a small, often neglected player in the Willys big picture. I made a couple extra copies of each above if you can't use another method, email me. Stay tuned as we try our best to sort out the DJ3A story. glenns@tdstelme.net

Hello Bill,

Yes the Web Shots board can be a real Pita to download and copy pics from. They make it very difficult without buying into their program.

I have been able to use a bit of a work around by right clicking the displayed pic and then selecting "Inspect Element" which opens a separate window and allows you to fish for the actual full size image by clicking on "Resources" at the top of the new page and scrolling down to "Images" and then scrolling thru all those that end in "TH" = thumb print until you see the one ending in "PH" and click on it and then it will appear in the right half of the screen then you can click on the URL below that pic and it will open in a new tab and then you can do a standard "Copy image" or "Save image".

Yes that is a lot of work to copy a large number of images!

Hello, I've been looking at hand held scanners that could be used to copy pages without disassembling books and pamphlets. Do any of you know about these? That is: Can a computer idiot do something with this thing and be able to share Willys Goodies?? Below is one type I've found:

http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/copy-cat-mkii

Let me know if you have some experience with this. Thanks, Glenn
