looking good, although i am curious as how you stretched that steering wheel cover over the willys steering wheel. do they sell them in different sizes? lol i have to stand on my head to get them on modern vehicles. i am liking the white shifter knob as well.

Hey Jax, that Willys of your is really looking sharp. My daughter was in Hilo the other day, playing volleyball with HPA. When I get to the Big Island, maybe I can stop by and see your build in person. Of course Kamuela is a long way from you. aloha. mrbob.

Thanks Bob W,
They do come in different sizes but are hard to find. This one is from a small old school auto parts store. It was in a dusty box on the back shelf. You probably won't find them at NAPA, Autozone etc. The white shift knob is a old fashioned porcelain door knob I had sitting around. I drilled out the square hole & tapped threads for the shift shaft. Easy to see in the dark! Howzit mrbob, When you get to the Big Island, you'd be more than welcome stop by & see my build. I still have a lot of small stuff to get done, the rest of the wiring & build a roll bar but she's coming along just fine. I'll be on the mainland for the next few weeks but I'm sure you'll be here in the future. Kamuela isn't that far from Kona for Big Isle driving. Approx. 45min in my hot rod Ford truck, but .....1hr+ in the Willys (only because it's always worth cruzin' slow in a Willyz on the Mauka road!!!) Aloha, Jax -------------------- Aloha, Kealoha Jax

Except for the tires and wheels and the spare tire deal on the back, it looks like a clone of my 53 3B. The color I have on mine is Deep Jewel Green Metallic of a 1990 or so thunderbird. It kind of turns a little blue in the sun.

I'm impressed with all of it! Your motor looks so good, how could you start it? It will get dirty! Love your work, thanks for the inspiration! -------------------- 1957 CJ3B (29,000 miles)

Thanks mrBob & HOGHEAD,
Shes running pretty well. Tuned it up the other day & after a few tweaks, distributor, carb & brakes the motor hums nicely & she stops on a dime & get seven cents change HOGHEAD...I like your idea about Painting the Willys on the hood ,Grill & tail gate with Pearl White. I think it would be a nice contrast to the Dark Green Electric /Green Mica I've used for the body. mrBob, let me know when you'll be on the Big Island I'd be glad to show you the Willys Aloha, Jax -------------------- Aloha, Kealoha Jax

A little more done...
Hooked up the exhaust & muffler, used the older style side exhaust set up, it passes under the skid plate up & behind the bell housing, then out by the passenger side. I liked the way it's a simple short & sweet clean line set up. ![]() Aloha, Jax -------------------- Aloha, Kealoha Jax

Appreciate the compliment It's great to have it coming together. Lots of details to finish but she running great & stops on a dime. Today I added the bumper, mocked up the winch & some old style fog lights. ![]() ![]() Next need to set up the wiring that will be a new adventure Aloha, Jax -------------------- Aloha, Kealoha Jax
