Well you all know I was off to a great start with restoring my childhood jeep. If you don't remember I'm glad to post pics of the early stages rebuild from two yrs ago. But the big news is after a sad first attempt, the second try on the motor/tranny rebuild is done. Here's the pics from today, ask if you'ld like to see more of the build.

Thanks, Goose

Glad to hear it's back in service and know you like that even better. Sure is a sweet and clean look'n ride.

My '53's down right now with overheating problems, but I'm pulling the radiator this week and having it thoroughly cleaned at a local radiator shop (crap sold at the local auto supply didn't do diddly for the radiator, but hopefully flushed the block), then re-installing along with a new water pump, thermostat & housing, and both hoses. I'm hoping the heating woes will disappear after that, and if not, I intend to add an elect. fan to the front side behind the grill. 1st time in ten years this jeep has ever even thought about running hot (got over 200 on the gauge), so it missed our 4th of July parade this year.

I finished my recent half-cab resto and just last weekend fit the doors. I'm really happy with how it turned out. The look I wanted plus protection from the elements for the winter ahead. I sent these pics to Dave @ ewillys and he ran them on his site, very gratifying.

Hi Goose,
The Jeep is looking great! The engine not only looking good but running right is I'm sure a great load off of your mind. I can see where the half cab will extend your season nicely in WNC. It was a joy seeing your pictures from the PNF. Your Jeep pushes the limit for the nicest it can look and still bear to take it out and use it for what it was meant for.
I'm only a couple of hours from you in Catawba County, and I would love to come meet you and see your Jeep some time. Mine will hopefully be ready for the road in a couple of months. They probably would turn some heads parked side-by-side in a parking lot!
Regards,
Capt. Joe

i love the look of the split windshield, and the roll bar behind the half-cab, it makes it look tough.
very few restorations i see manage to have all the colors and modifications come together and compliment each other, your jeep does that very well.

also i am glad to see i am not the only one putting w/s wipers off till the last moment biggrin.gif lol i keep a can of rain x in the jeep just encase i get caught in a storm.

CaptJoe, anytime! If I'm ever down yer way I'll hit ya up...do the same for me.

Bob Webber, yeah I was kinda going for a rolling-fortess look. Afterall, my dad flew a B-17 in WWII. I still need to put his nose-art on the fenders.

Thank you both for the compliments. There's no higher praise than from other 3B owners.

I got em from some guy off Ebay has a jeep junkyard up in NY, forget the name. They came off a CJ7, I had to cut em down in height but the corner radius was the same.
