Title: 2 or copies of Cahill marbled 'Serpent' available
Description: Not a bad price (relatively speaking!)

JamieNYY - January 25, 2005 11:13 PM (GMT)
**Edit: my mistake... these are not published by Cahill, I just assumed as much. The inside says 'Pocket Books' and the spine says "Private Press" where the publisher is generally noted. I got my copy in the mail yesterday and it is a "Presentation Copy"... not sure on the print run but it was pretty small.***

If anyone is interested in a copy a copy of this I just found two on e-bay. Seller is VJ's books and the bidding starts at $169.99, not bad when you consider VJ sells it on their site for $199.99. Just figured I'd pass this along since only 152 copies were made available to the pulbic (100 numbered copies and 52 lettered copies). To my knowledge this is the only US hardcover of 'Serpent' available

only slightly over a day left on this one.

slightly over 4 days left on this one

I'd suggest trying to get it a bit cheaper on e-bay if the auction doesn't end up significantly higher than the starting price. However if the bidding ends up too high for someone who is interested please feel free to contact me. A friend of mine has a few copies left that he will part with for somewhere around $180 + priority shipping and I would be happy to put you in contact with him.

Note to mod staff: I personally make no money at all on any of this. I am only relaying this information because I assume there are other 'loonies' like myself on here who would pay these prices for this book.

Here's some pics of my copy in case anyone is unsure of what I am talking about (These editions are simply beautiful additions to any collection if you like Austin/Zavala):

I actually picked up this particular copy of Serpent, pictured above, last week along with a similar edition of Golden Buddha for $159 which included both books and priority shipping from across the country. I've been stalking my mailbox since yesterday!:)

Just a head up for collectors like myself

Jamie you are correct in assuming that there are loonies on this forum who will spend that kind of money, and those of us who dream about spending that kind of money.

I have some of Cahills ltd editions, but got them on the cheap (cheap! LOL, by that I mean under $100). I can't afford VJ's although I wish I could!

Yeah, I understand not having the money completely. To be honest I don't either but I couldn't pass this one up! I'm a sucker for books, expecially Cussler's!

and Foss.... my friend is more than wiling to hold onto a copy or two if there is something you want that you can afford when your christmas bills are paid off. That too I understand. The offer stands for anyone else who might be interested, feel free to eMail me: jgravius@gmail.com
