Sweet, I will be there :-)

Be sure to verify that before you show up. I checked the Poisoned Pen events calendar and the Cussler FB page and nothing is posted yet. Just that $300 a person dinner event. (I'll have to settle for a backyard BBQ and reading a Cussler book).

In addition to the signing at The Poisoned Pen Clive is also holding a very nice dinner, discussion and signing at The Royal Palms for those interested. It takes place on August 18, 2010 at 6pm. Price of $300 per person includes,

An Autographed edition of Clive's latest release novel,
A 4 course elegant dinner & wine pairing
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Hospice of the Valley.

There is also a package deal if you would like to stay at the Royal Palms, probably one of the nicest resorts you will find in the valley.

I was very excited about the Cussler dinner, but the price tag (even for a good cause) put it way outside my budget.

But I will be at the Lost Empire signing tonight!

What did Clive have to say? bok

Nick Kismet - September 2, 2010 02:02 PM (GMT)
Not a whole lot. He took some questions from the audience, but most were nothing new. One person did ask whether he came up with the titles for his books early on, or after they were finished and he said: "You know, I used to write award winning headlines...but I can't think of a title to save my life." He said that the title decision is usually made in a brainstorming session once the book is finished. "We throw titles at the wall and wait to see what sticks."

I did ask him, as delicately as possible, if there will be more books from the NUMA Files, and he confirmed that there will be another one next year. No word on the who the co-author will be; I didn't ask.

I should be able to get more info of this sort at the convention next week.

Oh, I also mentioned CCC to the manager at Poisoned Pen. She still has a record of it.
