Lets hope those sailors pull through. You could only imagine the exposure to smoke inhalation during an outbreak of fire onboard a submarine.

Yeah, unfortunately one of the seamen didn't make it and died of his injuries, as announced by our Prime Minister earlier tonight. :(
Canada's navy has recieved a great deal of criticism in the past about buying surplus British military hardware, as this sub was, and this unfortunate mishap is only going to add fuel to the fire (no pun intended.)

You answered my question. I knew Canada had recieved criticism in the past and the crewman dying isn't going to make things any better.

It's sad to hear of any submarine being down. Alot of good men have lost their lives in them but the mystic of being under the ocean will never die. I hope that advances will be made to prevent this and allow us to continue to discover the many wonderful things that are down there. Maybe someday the need for navy subs won't be an issue and they can used for exploration only.
