All good conversation and when you get to be my age you'll forget the opening in the next 15 minutes anyway! Please keep us informed on what's happening and your progress. Thanks!

You're right Mike, that was also a great opening. Read "Raise the Titanic" just before "Sahara". Although it was a great book I didn't review it here, as I wasn't a member as yet.

Well we're glad you're here now. Looking forward to hearing more from you as you work your way through the CC adventures.

Sahara is outstanding. The start is great with the capturing of Lincoln. Love it. CC is a great author. He has his critics but don't we all. Enjoy - you're going to have a great read.

Thanks Mike, as I said just started in on "Inca Gold"..Fascinating already.

All good! If you haven't read Raise the Titanic please do so. My favorite opening of them all. Take care.

Just finished "Sahara" Outstanding read, I give it a 10/10.
Action packed page turner. Dirk and Al find themselves in some horrible situations and manage to outdo the bad guys. CC makes the bad guys seem so realistic you can sense there may very well be people and governments like that today in that part of the world.

I always love the way CC starts some of his books in a totally unrelated situation like the book starting during the Civil War. You wonder how he's going to relate this to a book called "Sahara", but as usual it all works out. This is the 2nd book I've read where he briefly wrote himself into it, in this case, the prospector in the desert. I always get a kick out of when he briefly writes himself in and out of the book. Fascinating, I don't believe I've ever read an author that does that.

This was my 11th CC book, started with "Atlantis Found" and was hooked. I am now ready to pick up "Inca Gold". thumbsup.gif
