Baby steps. Maybe when I get that harcover contract from Putnam, I'll be able to consider a nationwide tour.

Anchorage? Boo! When is the book tour coming through Milwaukee??
Nick Kismet Posted on May 6 2009, 03:20 PM
The following is an excerpt from my prepared speech:

It looks like you guys propelled me to an upset victory. Between the Cussler crowd, the folks who follow Samhain and the people on Myspace (many of whom are also Cussler fans) I won by nearly 3-1. I couldn’t have done it without you. This is your victory, not mine.

I want to especially thank Dave Wood for drawing my attention Megalith in the first place and urging me to send them an ARC of Shroud for review, which is no doubt what earned me a place in this competition.

Now the hard part. Yes, I’ll be going up against the winner of the next Smackdown—between Robert Masello and (ulp!) Jack DuBrul. Yikes.

Since it’s no longer me ‘n’ Matt tussling, I’ve decided to continue my blow by blow of the Smackdown under a new topic.

Thanks again, and if you happen to be in Anchorage, I’ll be appearing at Barnes & Noble on June 11 between 6-9 pm.

Good job, Sean! Do you know who you're up against in the next round yet? Is it the winner of today's DuBrul v. Masello context?
David_Wood Posted on May 6 2009, 01:50 PM
Looks like the final score is 34-13 in favor of Sean! Whoot! I know some people will vote for DuBrul today because he writes with Cussler, but I want to plug Robert Masello. He's a great author, and he gave me a terrific blurb for my latest book.
