| I am also done now reading them all in original language except one, i read "Plagueship" in german translation, and it was just AWFUL!!!! Never, ever, please, dear friends, read a Cussler- book translates to another language, it`s messing the whole thing up terribly! "Plagueship" was my first Cussler- book, after this i was interested to read more, and in ENGLISH, and that was the best decision i ever made about those books.  |

| and on that note< I just read golden bhudda myself and it is one of the best books of Dr c's period IMHO | |

| Thanks for the response and the heads up. I am about half way through Silent Sea, then will go to The Jungle which will finish my read through the Oregon files. After that I wanted someplace to go so I figured I would go back to the beginning... | |

| The first book in the series was "Golden Bhudda". But, as Mostly siad, the characters, ship, etc., were first used in "Flood Tide" which was a Dirk/Al story. It's in Flood Tide where Juan loses his leg. | |
