| I always thought that Timothy Dalton would make a great Dirk Pitt. I also think John Rhys-Davies would be great as St. Julien. I think William Macy as James Sandecker is good casting. As for Loren Nicole Kidman would be great (even though Loren doesn't appear in Sahara). The problem is that there is no Hollywierd bunch that match what's in my minds eye. | |

| MM has the attitude to play Dirk! | |

| They still have the Confederate boat scene in the beginning so there has to be something about finding the ship. I think they will include Perlmutter but who possibly fits the description of someone over 300 pounds who is all solid fat. SorryI don't think yokozuna will be available. Just Kidding |

| I believe no Lincoln sub-plot may well mean no Perlmutter in this movie. Cheers |

| I'm happy with the casting for Sahara except for Cruz. So far I've been completely unimpressed by her, but I will keep my mind open (I still wish Salma had been cast for it...smokin! Oh well). For the future my wife and I were both thinking of Maury Chaykin as Perlmutter. I've liked him as Nero Wolfe, and smaller parts in different films and on tv. He seems to be able to play dramatic parts as well as some of the "softer" roles, I think he could do it. I have a feeling he takes his food seriously too! |

| I always pictured Oliver Platt as Al, and it wasn't until I re-watched 'A Time To Kill' that I realised the height just wouldn't work - he's bigger than MM So with that idea out the window my next choice for Al was Jack Black |
