| I guess I'm older than dirt..........it looks to me that face on the cover is a dead ringer for Kirk Douglas in his younger days..........and either he or his son Michael would have made a great Pitt.........but I'm guessing Hollywood is wanting younger actors so they have an ace in the hole if there is a sequel. In that case, Viggo Mortensen would have been my first choice for Pitt. As far as the physical characteristics, I hope they have Matthew McConeghy (I know I massacred the spelling of his name and apologize for it) die his hair dark and wear green contact lenses...... The folks in Hollywood can make anyone one look like whoever they want....... Anyway, I'm willing to wait and see what Matthew can do with the role.....if he can portray the multi-faceted character of Pitt as Dr. Cussler has written him, he will have earned my respect! It's got to be a tough job to be an actor! |

| Hows about Eric roberts as Pitt? Craggy, tall (ish) and a hell of a lot of screen presence. Peter Weller as Rudi Gunn, Madchen Amick as Loren Smith, British actor Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon for those familiar with Harry Potter films) as St Julien, Richard Dreyfuss as Sandecker. OK ran out of inspiration I'd rather see Salma Hayek play Eva than Penelope Cruz, dunno who the hell to get as Giordino, one of the Sopranos cast? It's about time Hollywood did justice to a Cussler book. What they lack in Clancy-esque Machiavellianism they more than make up for is sheer escapism and bloody good entertainment value. Raise the Titanic was a balls up from the beginning if you read about it, time things were done better. Oddly enough I have literally only just finished re-reading Sahara and thought top meself 'that'd make a crackin' film'. I logged onto Google, did a search for Clive Cussler and hey Presto! here I am. |

| I'm not sure about anyone else, but I can definately see Nicole Kidman as Loren Smith. We'd have to put him on a heck of a diet, but Danny DeVito as Sandecker. LOL Seriously, how about Kevin Kline as Sandecker??? |

| I don't know if I will see the movie as I have, as so many of you, pictured the characters in my head. I've read the comments you all made and I have to agree with some. Tom Selleck I would accept as Dirk, and Dom Deluise would be a great Perlmutter. If the Rock would be not that tall and have a curly wig on, he would make an Al don't you think. Karo |

| The movie you are thinking of is "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" Which is one of my favorite Bond films. Lazenby was not the best Bond but in my opinion, Far from it but the film had one of the best Bond stories and a helluva screenplay. | |||

The minute I saw that illustration I thought of the guy who was James Bond in only one movie. The actors name was George Lazenby, I can't remember which movie though. Lazenby would be way too old now. |

| I see orlando bloom in the role of Yeager he's quite thin tall ish and would look sort of smart casual in jeans and long hair. | |||

| I agree With DirkPitt on Hugh Jackman. when i first heard about the movie i had a discussion with a few friends and we came up with Hugh Jackman for Dirk, Stanly Tuchi for Sandecker, Dom Delauies for St. Jullian, we still havent come to a consesus on Al, Hyrum, Rudi, or Loren. i still can't see Matt as dirk. -Ta |
